I'm an evolutionist. As in, I need proof before I believe anything. That's why getting energy work done wasn't exactly something I ever saw myself doing. Heck, I barely even listen to what doctors tell me, nevermind anyone else.

HOWEVER.. I deal with a pretty severe case of chronic vertigo, which is supplemented with a delightful case of anxiety that comes with it when the vertigo gets really bad. It started after I went on a cruise and it never went away. I went from being the life of the party, to a scared little anxious girl, always worried about passing out (it happens). Doctors haven't been able to do anything about it. I've seen endless neurologists, had vestibular physical therapy and have had more MRIs and vertigo tests than I even care to count. I gave up on the whole medical thing and accepted that this condition is now a part of my life.

I give this preface to tell you that nothing freaking worked.

Then along came Sally. I'll be honest that it took about five different recommendations from personal friends raving about her and telling me to have a session done to finally do it. Her Facebook page confirmed that people really do seriously love her and the work that she does. I don't think I've seen that many glowing recommendations for a hairdresser, nevermind an "energy worker" (that's what I call her, I'm not sure what the professional term would be).

ANYWAY. The point is this. I had a session done (and have since gone back many times) and the results have been incredible. After my first session, I immediately felt better.

Remember that I went in expecting to be disappointed. I'm not one of those people who got results because I THOUGHT it was going to get me results. I expected it to do nothing, like every other treatment I've had, and I'd be on my way.

My first week was amazing. As in.. I haven't felt that good in two years. Practically no symptoms of my usual vertigo and anxiety combo. I was so freaking excited that I actually called her to tell her how awesome it worked. She followed up with me later in the week again to see how I was doing.

I'd say the effects from that one session lasted about two or three weeks (it's not supposed to last forever - after all, we pick up energy everywhere we go). Now I go back regularly.

If you're wondering what an energy session is, basically you lay on a massage-like table and she spends about an hour or so doing her magic. She could probably explain better, but it's basically removing bad energy and putting in good energy. It sounds silly, but I wouldn't have written such an epic review if it didn't work. When you're done, you'll feel like a thousand pounds are lifted off your heart, head and shoulders. This is how people described it to me before I went, so I'm just repeating it here because it's so, so, so true.

Sally is incredibly sweet and 100% genuine. I think she'd talk with you for hours about energy and the issues you're having in your life if that's what you needed. I told her that she was SO undercharging and she said that her main goal is to help people and pay her bills, not get rich.

You need to book an appointment in advance too, so I'd book early. No walk-ins.

Anyway, I'd recommend her to anyone and would even say a session with her is worth the drive. I drive a little over an hour to go see her. I'd 1000% recommend getting a session done, which is why I added her to Yelp, because I can't thank her enough for the difference she's made.

I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS PIZZA. I'm not even talking about the cheese-less strips, either. A round pizza, freshly cooked and eaten right away in-house, topped with banana peppers, sausage and onions. If I had to choose one pizza I had to eat for the rest of my life, that would be it.

Oh and those root beer wings? Amazing. Last time we visited, we left with $30 worth of take-home food and that was AFTER we already ate.

Love this place, a gem.

I love Lorraine! This is like heaven for anyone who sews or creates anything with fabric. When I go in, I usually back a b-line straight to the $1.99 loft which probably has as much fabric upstairs, as they do downstairs! My trouble is that I usually end up buying $30 worth of fabric and $60 worth of buttons, needles and other fancy things. In any case, this is paradise.

Tom's Market

Tom's Market is awesome, I mean, amazing. I seriously loathe Whole Foods in every way, shape or form. Not only did they try to kill me with their salmonella-ridden chicken one time, but they make a killing off of people who wear "I shop at Whole Foods" as some kind of upper-class yuppie jerk badge.

Tom's is cool. "You wanna buy some cheese? Why don't you try a few samples first? Oh hey, try some of this tuna salad too, it's awesome. Oh and the coleslaw? Let me get some of that for you too. Oh and what did you want to cook for dinner? Cool, let me show you all the things that'll make that dinner top notch, cause, you know, we're best friends now."

Also, they have all the awesome stuff from the local farmers markets that I always buy, even in the winter. They've got all kinds of fun cheeses (they have bite-size gourmet cheeses, they are aaa-mazing), fresh meats, the most amazing deli roast beef I've ever tasted in my damn life, and they've even got a Venda Ravioli freezer. I mean, c'mon.

The best part? I find it to be totally affordable. Definitely cheaper than Whole Foods, and in my opinion I actually thought it was cheaper than Stop & Shop too. Sure you could spend a fortune if you tried, but overall I was pretty shocked that the quality vs. price.

That's just my experience, but I shop here all the time now and don't think I'll be looking back anytime soon.

You know, there's an awful lot of hating on Cyril E. King, but I'll tell you what, those chairs are the most comfortable plush little things (with no dividers!) of any airport I've ever been to. Sure, you get off the plane and you're all "oh man, it's hot" and "oh man, I have to walk inside" and the airport is pretty "open air" as they say. But when you need to fly home, you're gonna be pumped for awesome chairs to wait in (since you should probably arrive 3 hours early), food, drinks and booze while you wait, and absolutely NO confusion as to where to find your plane - they're all in one place! I dunno, I kind of loved this airport to be honest. In and out quickly, and comfortable accommodations? Works for me.

Came here twice, once for lunch on the casual side of the open-air restaurant, and the next time for dinner on the fine-dining side. Both have incredible views and awesome food, the only thing that differs is the food.

Lunch on the casual side came with an awesome "Jim Beam Burger" - best burger we had on the island by far. Ribs were very overpriced and good, but wouldn't get them again. Pork per pound must be expensive on the island. Drinks and our sever were both above par.

Dinner on the fine dining side came with a few hiccups and a bill that was $100 more than the other side but I'd still come back.

The potato soup was out of this world - I mean seriously awesome. I'll need to perfect my potato purée at home now.

Pork belly was on the small side which would have been OK but it was super dry and chewy. Pork belly is supposed to melt in your mouth and this did nothing of the kind. I'd pass on this especially for the $16 pricetag.

Lamb pops were deliciously seasoned and cooked a medium rare. Unfortunately my flank steak came out very rare too, so I sent it back for a little more cooking. Flavor was all there but the burned potatoes took away from the whole dish. So... Yes to the lamb, and take your chances with the steak.

Raspberry mojitos were wonderful, staff was wonderful, view is beautiful.

Awesome, awesome food. It has a different name now (Cruzan Rum bar & grill maybe?) but the menu was packed with creative mouth-watering dishes.

After a long hard stare at the menu we went with the Jim Beam burger, which was the best burger we had on the island by far (and we had many) and I got the ribs. The ribs were good, but the $20 pricetag must just be for the scarcity of pig products because it didn't really come with much. I'd get something different if we came back (and I think we will). The rest of our food (and drinks) were so good that we're thinking of staying at Secret Harbour next time we come.

Also, the view can't be beat.

Oh neat, how cute is this place? Reminds me of the little delis near me, and the cute coffee shop next door is a nice little place to sit, drink coffee and hang out. My ham sandwich was pretty decent, they were creative with it. Overall, worth a trip, especially for the coffee shop if you're missing your own local bean and tea joint.

PAVILIONS AND POOLS

Well, we did not get robbed and thank god I didn't read the previous review before I booked this place! Thankfully they had noticeable security when we were there, but we didn't feel unsafe or sketched out at all, everyone was very friendly (which is something rare on the island in general).

I understand that each unit is different, so I should be specific. We actually got an awesome rate on Airbnb (see: http://www.airbnb.com/... ) and decided to go for it. I'd been to St. Thomas before but only on a cruise so I didn't realize how ehm... "sketchy" the island is. And that's an understatement.

Rented a car and did nothing but get lost and get stuck driving on tiny winding terrifying streets in the ghetto for the first day. After that though, we were very glad we got it, there's plenty of parking everywhere you go, though you might pay a few bucks for it. With that said, we got 40% off with a Hertz coupon, so it was cheap.

We also figured we'd find our own food to cook on the grill (big mistake). Markets are small and uncommon except Cost U Less (or something like that) down the street. Do yourself a favor and have the nice folks at P & P do your shopping. And when your bill is expensive, they're not ripping you off, bacon really is like $10.

In any case, the private pool is awesome and it's very private so you can swim and tan nude all you want. Air conditioning works awesome, wi-fi was currently being installed while we were here, continental breakfast was decent, memory foam bed was SO COMFORTABLE, and the indoor/outdoor shower was straight up awesome. The bar has an awesome happy hour too but Red Hook (the better part of the island if you ask me) is right down the street as are two beautiful beaches.

The only thing that will annoy you (probably anywhere on the island) is the constant cock-a-doodle-doo-ing of the native roosters.

Other than that, get yourself a giant bottle of rum, a case of coke, and relax like we did and you'll be all set.

Cuzzin's Caribbean Restaurant & Bar

Wow, the first plentiful and cheap yet delicious meal I've had since I've been here. Basically you get a plate of whatever you like (we got the jerk chicken and BBQ ribs) for about 13 bucks a plate (that's super cheap) and then you get to choose three sides. The Mac & cheese was good, fried plantains were awesome, coleslaw was decent, mixed veggies were awesome and the rice & beans were awesome too.

Ribs were very good an practically boneless so you get a tonnnn of meat. Jerk chicken was also great but I got so full from the sides and our appetizer of wings that I barely got to eat any.

Drinks are also yummy and cheap. Overall, if you want some good jerk chicken and ribs with some traditional caribbean sides and air conditioning as a bonus, this is your place. There are two other Caribbean joints in the area that we couldn't find and glad we stumbled upon this one nice and close to all the hubbub.

Tillett Gardens, in my opinion, is the best shopping plaza on the island. It's all local artists in their own funky little shops and Jason at Caribbean Herbals in no exception. He's been featured in magazines and has gotten a bunch of awards for his candles.

With all that said, I bought the most giant shell candle he has, so no you can't have it. The candles and soaps are cool although the selection is pretty limited. The scents are amazing though, I loved the mango and mango-starfruit scents. He also sells on his website so you can always have it shipped to you.
