Brio Tuscan Grille

After a day at the Airforce museum, tummy gurgling I headed to the Greene.. with a huge variety of places to eat... I ended up wanting some Italian..

I started off my meal with a Chardonnay they suggested that would pair beautifully with my roast chicken dish.  But we'll get to that.

The bread basket of rosemary crisps and rosemary bread were warm and smelled amazing!!!... I couldn't stop eating. MMM CARBS!!! How do ppl live without it?!

Appetizers
Fried Calamari - Fried lightly and crispy. There was tartare sauce which made some of it soggy - sauce on side please - but I loved how there was fried pepperocini with it! YUMMM!!!

Also ordered the Beef Carpaccio which was SOOO huge it came out on a plate the size of two of my heads.  Field Greens, Capers, Mustard Aioli and Parm Regg and cheesy flatbread crackers. HOLY MOLY DELICIOUS!

I got a chopped salad on the side.  I'm a veggie salad whore, what can I say.  Nothing like a little feta anyways

Daddy ordered the Tuscan GrilledPork Chops which he DEVOURED and loved. Mommy gnawed the bones clean [they're a good team like that]

Mommy got the Chicken under the Brick.  It was in a yummy marsala sauce and came with mashed potatos and mushrooms. She loved it!!!

And I got a WHOLE roasted chicken which came with a knife stabbed thru the middle of it. HAHAHA. HUUUUGE plate.  Mash & Veggies. IT WAS SO GOOD. I ended up eating like 3/4 of it and took the rest home just to finish it later that night watching movies. TEE HEE

Dessert was a mini Raspberry Panna Cotta and a Caramel Creme Brulee. BOTH SO GOOD.  And from the Dolchino collection.  The Creme Brulee had goopy Caramel on top instead of a hard crust but it was delicious nonetheless :]

I need to come back here for Brunch next time I'm back :]

This place is ADORABLE! I came here cuz I had time to kill between doctor appointments and this is my mom and her friend's favorite place to go in the area for lunch!

I ordered a Vegetable Frittata which came out nice and hot with some delicious french bread on the side.  I prefer my frittata's with more egg and less noodles and more veggies but this was pretty tasty and the marinara was great!

I also tried the Chicken Curry that came with Potato Gratin and Cheesy white asparagus. It came with a side of wild rice. All of the above were great and tasty.

And then I ordered a 3 Salad Plate: Onions; Hearts of Palm, Fennel, Tomato, Olives; Artichokes & Peppers

I was SO in love with the palm salad, I'm addicted to Fennel but so much so I actually ordered another plate of all three!!!!

Craving something sweet and chocolatey but not at the moment since I was pretty stuffed and needed to run off to the next doctor appointment I got a Bumble Bee Bomb to go - apparently it's super popular and its' SOOO GOOD!!!!.... honey soaked cake inside chocolate. MMMMM!!!!

I love the wide range of variety on the menu, it's small but hits a lot of great things - so many things I wanna try, especially the sandwiches!

I've only had them for Takeout but it was quite tasty. But it's TAIWANESE so I'm always looking for new Taiwanese places around me to eat at! I'd say 3.5 stars to 4 since they were fairly new in opening when i tried BUT.... they could've improved by now! Can't really try since I just got back from Taiwan but here's a quickie review from when I tried them like a month and a half or so ago...

Jelly Fish Salad- Tasty, super garlicky, crunchy and refreshing!  The first time I ordered it it was overly salted but they gave me a free order the second time to apologize :] YUM!

Pan Fried Turnip Cake & Taro - I preferred the Turnip over the Taro, but I always do anywhere.. it's juicier - to me. Both were pretty tasty!  The taro was a bit drier but both were flavorful and had a nice crisp outside.

Vegetarian & Chicken Bean Curd Skin Roll - My mom loves the chicken rolls and always orders it if it's on the menu. This is pretty good. Very meaty... I preferred the vegetarian one more tho.  Mushrooms and veggies :] NOM!

Pan Fried Chinese Chive Pie - I think these are my favorite item on their menu.  They're like a giant pan fried dumpling or samosa. A nice thin skin and nice and chivey with thick glass noodles, egg and such.  It's a bit light on the filling but the taste is GREAT!

Julienned Pig Eat Salad in Hot Chili Oil - YUM! This is one of my favorite all time dishes.  Crunchy, chewy AND these were nice and THINLY sliced... I don't like it when restaurants cut them too thick. These were perfection! YUM!

Xiao Long Baos/Soup Dumplings - the filling was pretty good but they were all dried out since it was take out :[ Poo. Next time I'll just eat these IN the resto.

Pan Fried Pork Buns & Steamed Pork Buns - Both are great.  The pan fried has that nice crunch from the greasy crust. YUM!  The mantou bun is SOOOOO GOOD and tender, fluffy and a nice chew.  The filling had GREAT flavor but it was just a tiny ball:[ I'm a huge meat eater and need my meat in my buns! OVERFLOWING please!

Taiwanese Oyster Omelet - I'm still looking for a place to get this outside of Taiwan that can match how yummy they are there. This was sort of disappointing. All starch, barely any egg and it was just placed on TOP of oysters and spinach not cooked in it. :T  The sauce seemed like same generic brown sauce they gave with lots of other items :T

Sticky Rice Ball - They also gave me a free ball of rice, basically oil rice that you'd find in a the leaf wrapped zongzhi.

Five Spiced Beef in Shao Bing - Actually I might like these more than the chive pies.. not sure OMG sooo good.  While the bun could've had more layers of flakey and maybe thicker, the flavors and textures were AMAZING. TONS of fresh scallions [which I LOOOOVE] nice tender beef. OMG. I could eat a ton of these.

Soy Bean Custard/Tofu Pudding - Good, fresh, light with some boiled peanuts! A great ending to all the "heavier" tapas like snacks! YUM!

I've heard great, greasy fried, things about Breslin but it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be. Honestly, it was okay... but I DID love their thrice fried fries!!!

We started off with the small terrine plate [which was actually a decent portion - wonder how much the large one was] Liverwurst was the best, headcheese was horrible.

Then we got the onion/bonemarrow soup - meh. No bone marrow taste at all. Decent French Onion I suppose. I like my homemade one better ;D

BEST dish of the night was the Blood Sausage with Fried Duck Egg & Tarragon Cream - PERFECT!!!!!

Then we split the 40oz Dry Aged 28Day Ribeye with Bearnaise & Chips - it was good.. but nothing to write home about.

We ended the night with boozey apple cider [good], brioche doughnuts [deliciious] and horrible spotted dick :[ YICK

The bill came out ridiculously high for the meh experience. Doubtful I'll be going back.. except for fried and blood sausage.

After being promptly seated by our Seth Rogan look/sound alike host, we sat down at this Top Chef's new restaurant for a great great Thai inspired meal.

Must Get: Bone Marrow...  it's the first bone marrow I've gotten with fixins [ a sauce, sprouts and crisp taro root ] but it was DELICIOUS!!!! Adored their roti canai!!! SOOOOO GOOD... a bit greasy but flakey deliciousness.

Spicy Squid Ink soup packed a nice subtle punch, looked gross but tasted divine. Their beef tartare was ok... as was their Duck Curry... You NEED to get their Goat Curry and their Bunny Curry... DELICIOUSNESS

Boy surprised me with reservations here for Valentine's Day. It was a set menu with wine pairings for the special occasion and what can I say it was everything and more than I imagined it'd be.

First off, the bread is AMAZING. Perfect country white bread. Warm, crunchy outside, dought soft innards - paired with the most delicious cheezy butter.

If there are eggs on the menu - it's a must, DELICIOUS perfection, that was my favorite dish of the night.  I found that their proteins weren't as good as their veg dishes and some of the sauces were a bit too oversalted, but delicious none-the-less.

Dessert fav: granola ice cream. It actually TASTED like raisin granola.. but in ice cream form *heaven*

A huge group of us [8] came here for a late Saturday brunch [why aren't they open Sundays? lame!!!] But we had the champagne brunch and had all you can drink bubbly.

I got the duck hash which was pretty tasty - just wish less potatoes and more duck :] Boy got the bacon benedict [which was THICK pork chops, SO yum] We drank a LOT and I probably would've enjoyed it more if I wasn't so hungover/stilldrunk from the night before [haha]

After a super long wait we finally got a table.  The food came out fast and we even got free tartares from the owner after the boy mentioned I was a food blogger.

The sushi was fresh and it was really good. I loved how they had a garlic edamame option, nice change in steamed edamame.  The monkfish liver pate was delicious and creamy.... and I adored their Uni. Typical good japanese place for sushi/sashimi. I have no complaints!!!

Quick fix for your Greek craving.

Boy took me here cuz we needed a quick lunch, something to cure our greek food craving and I wanted soup.

I got the lentil soup [which I LOOOOOOVED] and the chicken gyro... I used the fresh warm pita they gave me instead of eating it with the big [kinda soggy now] pita shell my gyro came in. But the chicken was tender and I like the yogurt sauce.

Boy got the lamb chops he seemed to enjoy them.

Everything was good but not amazing. The sides were ok. Nothing special.
