Love having this bahn mi place in Elmhurst. Such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Their sandwiches are delicious and the bread (a huge attribute to a good bahn mi sandwich) is perfect. They have a stamp card system which is pretty neat. After you purchase 5 sandwiches, you get a free drink from their delicious bubble tea menu. After you buy 10 sandwiches you get a free sandwich! I just recently redeemed my free drink so I don't have a long way to go. The staff here is always nice and polite and I keep coming back! Would love more vegetarian options!

I have such a love/hate relationship for this place.

On one hand, their food is pretty amazing. Their grilled corn is something I always dream about and go back to, feeling very satisfied and happy. The desserts are always worth a try - Grape kool aid ice cream being my favorite. I also love their homemade donuts! Their fried zucchini sandwich is good but with a bit of hot sauce, it's even better. The hush puppies with ranch dip is amazing. My friends raved about their chicken baskets.

Here's my issue with them: their hours are so wonky. Sometimes they are closed for events (which we find out by calling them first because we are a bit cautious). They are closed on Mondays. They close right after lunch on Sundays. I went by the day after Labor Day, a Tuesday, at around 6:30 (they close and reopen at 6pm supposedly to serve dinner) in the pouring rain and they were closed! I love you guys, but you're not a food truck and I wish you would stick to normal scheduling. It's also a bit hard to trust a place of business that uses a blogspot as their main website, but I still go back for the delicious grilled corn and treats. Hopefully they will last because they have great food to back them up.

This place is weird. I've been here twice which I believe is well past my limit. The woman (the owner?) at the front always seems so disoriented. Like she's on another planet. Yes, Hi, we are here to eat. Yes, we would like to spend money on your food. When I went the first time, there was a drunk Asian man sitting at the front who would snap his fingers to get her attention. Apparently he was a friend of the place. Again, super weird vibes...

The food is okay and not worth the price really. The crepes are probably a safe route but I can't say it was exceptional or something to return back for. The honeycakes were just okay and not something to write home about. I don't think the waitresses care much about working there. I must say that their outdoor garden is very pretty but I won't be returning just for that, obviously...

This is my European Candyland. Haribo Heaven. Hob Nob Nirvana...umm I can go on. My sweet tooth loves this place. Yes you can get your typical Nutella and Haribo here. But they have Haribo candies I can't find anywhere else and at these prices you might as well stock up a bit just because you can. It's all about the extensive flavors you can try and have at a price that is wallet friendly. I haven't ventured out past the sweets, but I have a feeling I won't be disappointed.

It's getting a bit hard for me to choose where to eat once I hit this vicinity of restaurants on 31st Avenue. Usually Bareburger is it, but we decided to finally check out Pachanga Patterson.

It seemed like there would be a wait at first because it was so small and crowded, but we got seated right away at the front. It stinks that some people have received bad service here but maybe because of your reviews, I got amazing service! So thank YOU! We practically had bus boys watching us sip our waters until it reached appropriate refill status. The waitress was super quick and on top of soda refills!

The food was excellent and came in great time. The chips, despite being a bit on the harder side, were tasty and the guacamole was great. My fish tacos were looking good on the plate and ended up being very delicious. This place isn't dirt cheap but I enjoy having this Mexican addition to make my head spin when deciding on a place to eat in this area.

Got here at a busy lunch time, but I caught the line at a good time and my wait time wasn't so bad. I wanted more than what I ordered (one fish taco, one tofu taco and a side of guacamole and chips) but I could only handle so much!

The fish taco was pretty magical. One of the best fish tacos I've ever had here in NY. I wish I didn't eat that first because the tofu taco was a sort of mediocre. It was really tasty tofu but a bit harder. The guacamole and chips did not disappoint. Greasy, salty corn tortilla chips are so easily pleasing sometimes. The guac was right on and overall I was a happy beach goer. The juices (watermelon! pineapple mint!) and plantains looked mighty tempting...til next time!

I am somewhat of a lightweight drinker so I proceed with caution everywhere with everything. But there's something about Sweet Afton's Red Lemonade that makes me the happiest (not sloppiest!) girl in the world. It doesn't stop there with the drinks...

Their menu leaves everyone happy with some great choices. If you are in a cheese loving mood, the grilled cheese works for a lighter meal but the mac & cheese is where it's at! The portobello burger is pretty tasty and it provides all the juiciness as their other burgers would. I also love their fried pickles too! Also don't skip out on brunch at this place. The blueberry pancakes are lovely and so are their brunch drinks!

Café Habana

Is delicious Mexican-style corn worth waiting almost two hours for because of poor service? Kind of. Maybe. In the end, not really.

Upon arrival to Cafe Habana, a half an hour wait was actually not so bad. It built up my hunger and excitement since it has been a while since I have eaten here before.

Once we finally got seated, we weren't able to order for about 15 minutes because our waitress was not around, talking to people outside. Then we were asked to move to a booth because a party of 3 was coming in and could only fit at our present table. We moved with drinks on the house, which was nice of them. When we finally ordered, that's when time started ticking. That party of 3 I mentioned that came after us? They had a table of food and drinks already. It was just us and our mojitos. After nearly an hour of being seated, one complaint finally got us our corn and a second complaint got us our food (only an appetizer and a sandwich). The waitress claimed there was a mistake made along the line and comp'd our entire meal. They handled it nicely but I am not sure if this poor service will be worth returning to, even though the corn is pretty damn awesome...At least there's always a take-out option!

Hey, what happened to the days where the Crif Dogs girls would yell out your name like your were the scum of the earth for not coming to get your dogs in a timely manner? I must've been in at a good time. When I came in the other day, the counter girl brought our hot dogs to the table. It was very...sweet actually.

I love a simple veggie dog with cheddar and my favorite thing to do is dip tator tots in the cheese that oozed out of my hot dog. Yum!

I highly enjoyed my tacos here. I think they were appropriately priced. The place gets to super packed and the line eventually hangs out the door.  I was lucky to get a seat by the window, even during after work hours.

The crunchy taco option adds a bit of a kick to your tortilla. My only complaint is the fact that their rice isn't vegetarian friendly. I love rice in my tacos but I appreciate the signage for this rice fail. Their guacamole is really delicious here. Overall it's a fun, fast Mexican option. It's no West Coast but one of the few closest.
