Simply A-mazing!
This store is huge and completely packed with everything you could possibly want for your scrapbooking (or cardmaking) needs. Plus they have classes that you can attend if you're looking for some new ideas. I only visited this place once and I signed up for their members club because I know that I will end up spending tons of money here!
Signing up for the club (for $25 a year) you get access to tables that they have on location (you know, instead of spreading everything out all over the place at home), 5% off of each item you buy (10% if you sign up the next year), PLUS every so often there are members sales where everything in the store is 25% OFF!!!!!! What more could you ask for????
I highly recommend this place for any scrapbookers or cardmakers, you will NOT be dissappointed!

Tack Room Restaurant & Bar

In all honesty I've been to the Tack Room bar more than the restaurant. I love the bartenders there. Even though people in Penn Valley don't normally enjoy "city people" they've always been nice to us!
What I love about the restaurant is the flame grill in the middle where you can watch your dinner being cooked! It's usually pretty packed so expect a wait!

This place is a little overpriced, but that's kinda what you get in a small town with literally nothing else around! But the food that they have here sure doesn't taste like there's nothing else around! It's so good that they could compete in a busy city like San Francisco and still make tons of money!
It's a small dining room that probably seats only 50 people at most, but the decor in there is all nautical stuff and very intimate. Whenever I come here I get the Chicken Cordon Blue but end up eating a lot of my fiance schnitzel. The sauces that they cook both meals in are excellent!
Right next door is the bar where on weekends you can enjoy some older folks doing kareoke and play video games on the machines. I always have a great time when I come here!

How Sweet It Is!
I stepped into Powell's Sweet Shoppe last night and could not have asked for more! What other place can you find 50 different Pez dispensers, 10 flavors of Pop Rocks, Toblerone, Chocolate Oranges, Gelato, Moon Pies, Wonka Bars and Movie theater seats to sit AND WATCH Willy Wonka? I really felt like I was Charlie in one of the first few scenes of the original Willy Wonka in that candy store. It was amazing! I felt like I could have spent 3 hours in there, just trying to take in everything that I saw! There was so much candy I couldn't even believe it!
The fact that it's about a block from where I live both excites me and frightens me at the same time! It;s definitely worth walking down and checking out. You may find candy in there that you haven't seen since you were a kid.

NASTIEST BATHROOMS EVER!!!!
I was just here on Thursday (as in the Thursday before Christmas, when there is a high volume of traffic through the store!) and the bathrooms were SICK!!! Hello!!! Take care of your store! It smelled horrible and was so dirty! I felt like I needed a shower when I walked out!
Not only that but we had to wait in line for, no joke, 25 minutes (there were FOUR people in front of us). The staff is not so friendly and you can tell they aren't happy to be there.
The two stars that it receive are for cheap prices on their cute shoes and for their home goods department. They usually have really nice frames for affordable prices!

Custom truck in SSF and Redwood City have all of these things. Their sales staff is there for one reason and one reason only...to take care of you. And isn't that what you want when shelling out several hundred dollars for a new truck rack, toolbox or bed lining? (all sold and installed here) Not only do they have big stuff for your trucks or SUV's they also have tons of gadgets and add on's like, trailer hitches, Thule products and everything else you could want to put on your vehicle. Their main area of expertise is probably for contractors and their needs, but they won't hesitate to help out a girl who wants customized dash mat either! Plus, they won't push anything on you that you don't need.
My dad, and most of his family, are contractors/tradesmen and have all been here and have returned here because of all of the things that I mentioned above. My family loves this place!

One of my favorite places to come on a Sunday morning...ya know, after a looooooong Saturday night ;) Their sandwiches on such a Sunday morning can be pretty close to heaven.

One of my favorite places…
Their beds always get me tan, especially with lotion, and their prices are very good! I really don't think you can beat their prices, especially for the new machines that they have!
As if all that wasn't enough....I work nearby and was gathering gift certificates for a fund raiser for Breast Cancer and they were more than willing to donate!
LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
