I called them up asking if they had any grey slate floor tile. The guy sounded very disinterested and told me they have way too many tile and there is no way for him to know. He said I should go look at their website. I did and they didn't have anything close but it wasn't like there was a huge selection of slate. The fact he had no interest in finding out for me fits right in line with a post in the talk section of Yelp talking about their poor customer service. In addition I've called 3 other places who were able to easily check for me and now I'm going to go to them and one will get my business and possibly for some other tile as well. Daltile might want to consider figuring out how those other tile shops can know what tile they have in stock and do that. It seems like basic customer service.

The Good Knight

The first time you go to The Good Knight you will think you made a mistake because the building looks kind of rundown on the outside and nondescript but trust me you are at the right place and don't worry the inside is fairly nice. The best reason to go to this place is if you like cocktails because damn they an amazing cocktail selection. The cocktails are relatively cheap considering the quality, probably one of the best deals in Austin. In addition they have a great menu although there isn't that much selection everything on there is well priced and tastes pretty good. Overall I think The Good Knight is a great place to drink and eat well on a budget but not loose quality.

Dog Almighty

They have the best hot dogs in town and as an added bonus you can take your vegan friends there although I haven't had those items so who knows if they suck or not. The only thing that makes me not want to give them 5 stars is the fact they don't melt the cheese on the hot dogs and the fries are way to salty. Minor things that if they changed I would edit this review and give them the best review I can.

Phil's Ice House

Phil's Ice House is a great burger place except for the burgers. They aren't terrible but what makes this place great to eat at is the accouterments. I love burgers on sour dough buns so Phil's had me right there. In addition the toppings were pretty good quality as were the frys. And they also make a mean milk shake. It is just ashame the actual burger was only mediocre but it is well hidden by everything else.

Taqueria Arandas

The place wasn't terrible but my chicken enchiladas with red sauce tasted a kinda bland and my refried beans were really runny. The price was pretty good and so were the portions. I generally liked the salsa and ended up putting it all over the enchiladas. I might revise this review if I ever go back and try the tacos because they had a very interesting meat selection but enchiladas are my favorite dish and how I first gage a Mexican restuarnt
The expo is billed as an event for all forms of independent media but it was mainly comics. As a comic show though it was great. There were all kinds of people there selling their wares and not one main stream comic in sight. Almost everyone who was selling was also involved in the creation and I have to admit I was a bit shocked at the amount of girls that showed up. Most comic shows I go to are 80% dudes. If you like comics and want something other then the generic super hero crap then this is the event for you. Hopefully in the future it will become more then comics but even at the current level I really loved this show.

Come for the Tequila selection and leave for the food. That pretty much sums up Iron Catus. They have a great selection of Tequila but the food sucks. Considering Austin is filled to the brim with great Mexican/Tex-Mex food I don't know why anyone would eat here. They do make a fairly good Guacamole which is made at your table per your instructions but that can't really make up for the rest of the crappy food. And if you ignore my advice and do go to eat there just remember not to order the enchiladas. Their take on them is especially crappy.

Casino El Camino

If this place was just an amazing dive bar then it would deserve 4 stars. However on top of being a great dive bar this place also has the best burgers in Austin. Shocking I know but true. That is why you will find people who might not go there to drink on the weekends actually eating there. Generally though the crowd is Punk/Metal and you will see a lot of tattoos here. Add on to it that the inside looks like a castle and the back patio looks like an Inca temple. The only downside to this place is how more crowed it seems to be ever since Austin banned smoking indoors because of the kick ass patio area.
Serrano's is definitely not the greatest Mexican restaurant in Austin. But how could you expect them to be in a place with so many great Mexican restaurants. However it is close to where I live and they make a pretty good Chipotle sauce which I love to get on my chicken enchiladas. They also have pretty good Spanish rice. All in all they aren't bad. The only thing I really dislike about them is that I don't particularly like the salsa they serve. It has way to much cilantro for my taste.

What can I say about this place? Not much. It is pretty clean and they have a good selection of drinks and beer. The prices aren't exactly that great but if you live close by, like I do, it is very convenient. If I didn't live near it I definitely wouldn't be going out of my way to stop there. On the up side I believe it is a family business and it is always nice to help out the little guys.
Also don't let the name fool you, they don't sell that much food. It is pretty much like a 7-11.
