I think this is the best Pad Thai in town!

This place is kinda tucked away in a shopping area you would not expect to find a good meal in...I found this little gem years ago and it has become a good soul food joint...when I come into this part of town I always meet my mother for a nice meal here...Pad Thai w/ Tofu is the norm, but I've tried a little of everything on the menu and it did not disappoint....

The food is always good, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is awesome...not much more to say!

Possibly my fave soul food spot in the metroplex...quite possibly....a last meal contender, actually, very seriously, a last meal contender...

I like many of my fellow young Caucasian grew up blissfully ignorant, consuming a diet of burgers, steak and potatoes...the likes of which were getting a little old...My life changed for the better the day I had my first Vietnamese dish, and bowl of Pho...

Months later, my sole Vietnamese college friend introduced me to a new Vietnamese joint over by Richland...I'm aways up for anything, so lets go!

I must admit, I got a very bad addiction to Bistro B, With about 450 things on the menu...I had my work cut out for me...and man, did I do work!

There were some meals that blew my mind, and some meals, well, did not go over too well with my pallet.

Service for the first 6 months plus SUCKED. Horrible, its still not great, but they are getting better...not asking me if I need a fork instead of chop sticks...

Unfortunately, its gotten to be a very Americanized service, however which could be a good thing, could be a bad thing...a year ago I would never have walked in there on my own as a white guy alone, now, no problem do it regularly without having everyone in the joint look at me.

Now, to the food: Every time I go, which is about once a week I get a #1 and a #433...Do not get Pho here...Get a broken rice dish or a vermicelli dish...If you have a large party, look at a hot pot...most of it is good....I love the #68 and the #106...Play around, taste the world...See my other reviews for recommended Pho places!

Possibly the best fried catfish In Texas, that is a bold statement, too. The very cute chick that is usually working the register on the weekends mentioned they might rebrand themselves, but they will always be catfish king to me!!!!

Small, usually empty...food is prepared in the kitchen for all to see, by hand...get the catfish, apple sticks, and the pickled cukes at the salad bar....

Any time I go north, I end up here....

I kind of happen to agree with the previous poster who said that it was a bar in Allen (That serves liquor!)...and you can't expect much...I was just happy to find a place off Stacy to get a drink...

That being said, bar food, liquor, cheap drink specials, and live entertainment...heck yeah!

Ya know...Allen is rapidly turning into Plano, so places like this with a country appeal are rapidly becoming extinct...maybe I just have an emotional attachment to bars where a the most common drink isn't a martini, and all the people are not snobs...I have moved away from the area, but when I head up that way Dodies is my suggestion for a few drinks and a good time...would you rather go to chilis? Lol

Service here varies, I've gone and gotten treated like a king, and I've gone and had to fire off flares in the not so crowded place to get anything that resembles service...

I have gotten good service with large parties here, and they will change the TVs/Order something if you request it...food, well, it varies too...Though my soberness lever at time of eating does too...so I'd say the place has adequate drunk food, and not so great "let's go out and have a fine dining experience" food.

Bottom line, it's a sports bar...lots of TVs and plenty o booze.

I've never been disappointed here, and its a regular lunch spot for me. They have a 15 minute rule during lunch, get served in 15 min or else!!! They have never broken the 15 min and its usually at the table within minutes. Some days the kitchen is on fire, some days they are a bit slow...but slow is relative....

There have been quite a few days where I get lunch with a client here, then come back in the afternoon for happy hour.

The crowd does seem to be mid thirties and up, however...

No complaints, I might indeed hold a record for eating the most rosemary chicken there....with a neat whiskey, of course!

Before you finish reading this and decide to get your food on, call and make a reservation, most smart people in the area will be eating here on any given night....

ANYTHING here is good. I've been a hand full of times and I've never been disappointed, although that could just be my mind fooling me so I don't feel guilty about how much I spent. It will cost you, but you will find american food done no better than here. I did not know it was a chain, but they have refined their menu to perfection. It's a small menu, but everything on it should make your mouth water. They know how to season their food. I highly recommend any of the meat, specifically the prime rib.

Short but sweet review!

4 stars for a small hole in the wall non chain burger joint...No complaints, it was nothing fancy, but I was not asking for facny, if I want a burger in this area, this is my place...

This little Burger joint is hidden from the world behind a Gas station, bank, and a Furrs sign...I drove past it for months without even knowing it was there...However I saw it and got excited...Custom burger joint that I pass every day? Yes please!

First thing I noticed was, the place was EMPTY. Literally 3 staff members sitting around trying to look as busy as possible with absolutely nothing to do. Kinda felt bad for them to be honest...

It's an old school joint, it had a cool atmosphere with the old time wax cups reminiscent of the early to mid 80s...Maybe I just got nostalgic. I got a Bacon Cheese burger per the cashiers recommendation and they fired up the equipment and got it grilling....The only thing I really cringed at was the frozen frys, I mean, they could go to the trouble to make real ones, but alas, they were still good.

The ketchup is given to you in a bottle that I will admit, is fun to play with...the drinks are properly carbonated, and the burger filled a void in my soul, whats to complain about!?

PS, they have a drive through, wicked!

After attending a game up in Frisco at the stars center or the Dr. Pepper Ballpark this pace is a good place to go. Good bar food, strong drinks, and legitimate sports talk after a good game...Players sometimes join in too.

Another thing, this place has TONS of screens, sit down and watch all the major sports networks like, right in your face....The waitresses knew better than to interrupt a heated sports debate too!

I've been here three times now, once just to scout the place out around the time of opening, a second time to attend a somewhat private party after the Tucker Rocky show, and another time a few weeks ago for a dinner date...I like the place, its in a good location easily accessible, with great parking.

I always feel a bit young for the place (23), but its got a nice vibe to it. I believe this is due to its location, however...They have a great selection of drinks and the food is very, very good. Although I have not been able to attend, they hold interesting dining experiences, such as the Bourbon Tasting Dinner they did last month. (As a fan of Bourbons I was pained to have missed that one! )

I've seen the place as a night club, and a restaurant...and I like both layouts. Music/DJ/Talent selection is well, unique. I have to admit, I have become accustomed to the South Dallas and Deep Ellum bar scene, so the prices and upscale factor to the place was a bit of a culture shock...(spot on for the area and target demographic), but its well worth it to have such a great place at the 121/tollway exchange.

If I am in the area with a group, or wanting to stop in on a special night, Social 121 is my spot!
