C & S Automotive

I have used C & S for several years -- as my car has gotten older, there are inevitable problems that have arisen. C & S has done my clutch (twice), transmission (replacement), and various exhaust services for my import (rattling heat shields, catalytic converter).

They have a pretty quick turn-around time, are pleasant on the phone and in person, and have reasonable prices for the quality of service provided. If you have an import, I would highly recommend C & S for auto repair. Ask for Glenn, he's a really helpful guy!

Nice little spot in downtown Paso. Had the lunch special, for $6.95 you get a salad, soup, rice, wontons, and an entree (I had the chicken pad thai but there are about 20 choices). It was good, excellent for the price! Pleasant service, the server said they just opened yesterday.

No liquor license yet but they must be working on it because I saw beer in the back! Try it out, it's in the old Subway space across from Yanagis. Way cheaper and more authentic than Basil, worth a try!

Free wifi (probably from coffee shop) is nice, the coffee next door is convenient (not the best tasting). The laundromat is not hot or stuffy, everything is pretty new, and the people aren't shady like most laundromats you go to. Good music, I had a great experience here!

This place has an awesome setup and awesome DJ's but NO crowd. The food is ok (cheap), the brew is satisfactory (not my favorite). Seems like a place like this would do well in Paso, but it's usually pretty dead whenever I come in. Awesome daily specials though, if your looking for a cheap evening!

This place goes off on St Patties, which was the first time I went here. It's the best place in Paso for nightlife, but that really doesn't say too much. Drinks are a bit steep for how divey the place is, but the beer is always good so I don't mind too much. Didn't eat but a different time some people I was with ordered some food and it looked pretty tasty.

If you're stuck in Paso and can't entertain yourself then this is the first place you should go. Just don't expect too much, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. Probably just isn't my crowd, a lot of other people seem to have a blast here.

I wanted a PBR but the waitress let us sub since they were all out. Get the cheese-curd-gravy-fries, they are ridiculous. Kicked it here with a group of friends at the end of a long night out in Santa Monica. It was cheap and a pretty pleasant experience. I'd like to come back from some of the regular hour food, I imagine it's pretty good also. Nice vibe here though, and really friendly.

This place is actually really cool and they make really awesome drinks if you have a deep wallet. Cool vibe though, not overly loud -- you can actually talk to someone! I know, amazing! My mojito was off the hook, if I had another 14 bucks to burn I would have had another one. Cool place to hang out with some friends before making a little more of your night. Good times.

Shipwreck Hiking Trail

This trail is full of roaches (Late June), wobbly rocks and dead animals. There were some cool benches and rest stops along the way, but it's not really what I was looking for in a "hike."

It was, however, an excellent workout and I was exhausted afterward. We didn't even finish the hike, but we did see some indistinguishable hunks of rusted metal along the way? Go to Santa Monica hills area for a real hike.

The bouncer here was a total dick. We showed up with 12 people and he let us in 2-3 at a time over the course of about 30 minutes. I should also note that he was letting all these trashy girls (I'd estimate about 20-25 of them over the time we were standing there) in while we were standing there.

When the last two of us stood outside for another 10 minutes (and half our party had finished their first round of drinks) we had enough, decided not to support this crap-hole any more, and left. Good riddance.

This place seems bigger from the outside, we were talking about how they could have easily put a second level in the place (the ceiling is pretty high). They give you a fancy little "bread and dip" platter, olive tapenade, hummus and roasted red-pepper relish and a really good, crispy, hot, mini-loaf of bread to dip it in.

There was a bit of a wait but we ordered drinks and ate the bread until a table opened up. I had the lobster ravioli with tomato cream sauce and my date had the salmon with asparagus and potatoes (by far my favorite). It was much more reasonably priced than I originally expected, and they have a great location (literally the heart of Hermosa), the beach is probably 100 yards away.
