I love their xiao long bao! They are so good with a nice balanced filling taste, thin wrapper (but thick enough to not tear immediately when you pick one up), and plenty of yummy soup inside.

We also like their chou doufu and shanghai style dry noodles. It's a no-frills spot that we love to visit for a quick meal on the weekends.

We showed up for the sheng jian bao, but we also loved the wonton soup and the noodles with shredded pork and green onion. So good. Would highly recommend it if you're in the mood for sheng jian bao, but otherwise would go elsewhere for other dishes.

Yum, this place is good. The service is curt, but efficient. The food isn't mind blowing, but is good. I'd make this my neighbourhood café if the wait wasn't totally ridiculous. I've only really liked their quiche, which is manly-quiche, and not girly-quiche (yes, I've actually had a friend describe it like this). I suppose only girly dudes order quiche, but this would satisfy the manlier man who was looking to each quiche (but seriously, what kind of manlier man would be looking to eat quiche in the first place??).

Yeah I come back here. I endure the wait. I get into ridiculous conversations with other people waiting for a table about their favourite brunch places. Hey you're a stranger, but LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT MY FAVOURITE PLACE IN SF FOR BRUNCH!! And guess what guys.. it wasn't the place we were waiting for! It was another place. In Potrero that apparently had a MUCH MORE APPALLING wait and therefore the "pauvre" couple had to wait at this horrid brunch place instead.

Oh, but I digress.

If you are a Francophile, come here. Sit at the small oh-so-french bistro tables. Order the quiche. Drink the coffee. Eat the post-meal truffles. Eh, je ne sais quois, but this stuff is tasty and dependable.

Ok first off, they serve fancypants hot dogs.

Even though they serve hot dogs, and I am a hot dog fanatic, I am someone who detests the fancypants hot dog trend. Hot dogs are, well, hot dogs, and putting fancy ingredients on top does not really make them awesome.

So yeah, I had the fried chicken sandwich. And it was good, but not the kind of amazing fried chicken sandwich I would go back for. It wasn't even the kind of fried chicken sandwich I would tell my friends about (even though I'm telling Yelp about it, but let's face it, you're not really my friend, now are you!!). I don't know if I'd go back, but it's a nice little spot in a nice little neighbourhood.

Oh and the people who work there were really cool, and I'm not just saying that cos the girl that took my order was kinda cute. I really mean that they're cool. Um, yeah.

We all know how nice it is to support a local business, and Matt makes it really easy to do that. He's got a good mess of chemistry and film, all kinds, even Freestyle! How awesome. And yes, he also sells root beer in there. How can you possibly go wrong!

I walk into this tiny place and the first thing I see is a dress I love, some earrings that are super cute. And then a mostly-blind, mostly-deaf dog scuttles over to me to greet me.

Already, this is my kinda place.

The owner is so helpful and friendly. I described what I was looking for (a simple silver ring, not much ornamentation, but not too boring either) and after a few moments thinking it over, she brought me over to a jewellery case. And damn if she just happened to have the right thing I was looking for at a price I was comfortable with.

Girl knows what's in her shop and where it is. Nice.

Plus, the shop is open until 7pm, so I can easily get there after work (huge bonus cos waiting for the weekend is for chumps).

This place is so great. It's open late enough (8pm) so that I can still visit after I get back up to SF after work, and that alone is enough for me to give this 5 stars. Tack on the fact that they have a really great selection of yarns (Cascade 220 Superwash in THREE shades of grey???) and that the people who work there are SO super nice and awesome, and I've got a new favourite shop. The place is small, but crammed with nice wool and supplies, not to mention really adorable cards too. I selfishly hope that one day the yarn part of this shop will split off and open its very own large space filled with Things I Love.

Sorry, ImaginKnit... if you guys were only open until 730, I'd SO be at your shop compulsively buying grey yarn, but you close too early for me, so Princess Animal is the spot for me!

Basic menu, decent beer.

Well, I went for Strong Beer Month, so hell the beer was good and by the time I was halfway through, I thought the food was darn tasty too.

That said, I'd rather go elsewhere since the service was only so-so. But yeah, I guess I'd give it another try if people insisted on going there.

I'd definitely come back here. Thanks to some recommendations from another site (sorry, Yelp), we stopped in here for a nice dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the chopped salad, mini mushroom pan fry, and the puerco lento.

The chopped salad was super interesting and had really nice texture and flavour. The mushroom pan fry was good, but I thought it was a little oily. It was a huge portion, if you're into that. The puerco lento was seriously good, with meat that slid right off the bone.

Would definitely return next time we're in Scottsdale!

You know what's great about this place? They're open everyday and until 7pm most nights, which is wonderful for me. There's another great knitting store up in SF, but they shut during the week at 6:30 and there's no way I can get up there after work in time.

Nine Rubies has a sofa area that was packed with knitters when we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to pick up a couple skeins for projects I had in mind. The staff was extremely helpful and the cashier asked if I'd like her to wind my two skeins of Malabrigo (why, yes please!). They don't have the best selection, but I would go back and support this place because of the helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere.
