Whole Foods Market
Categories: Grocery, Health Markets
The produce sections is fairly compressed but still offers s a decent selection. The seafood and meats section is a great offering and a decent sized department. The cooked foods/deli area offers a really good selection but in such a small space, it gets very congested when there are a lot of people.
Nonetheless, its is a good store, but doesn't compare to other Whole Foods locations.
The view from the summit is amazing and you get a true panorama of the ocean, the waikiki and downtown Honolulu skyline.
Be sure to wear some comfortable shoes, carry water, and a flashlight for the tunnel.
Like I said earlier, it really isn't much of a hike since the bulk of the trail is paved with concrete or there is steps you need to walk up. So even the basic novices could do it!
I tried the Kamuela Cobb Salad with the Papaya Seed dressing and found it to be ok. The cobb salad was what you would expect but I found the chunks of avocado and chicken to be large and somewhat a turnoff. The papaya seed dressing was good and what I'd expect of it.The portion size was alright for the price.
The staff are really friendly and very quick. They were really personable and incredibly nice, almost absurdly nice. All in all, a pleasant experience and if you are in the mood for a salad, definitely a good place to check out.

When I came to pick it up, I was pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary upgrade and all I had to do was do a walk-around the car and signed and was on my way! The got my information when I made the reservation and it was quick and easy to get my car and head out on the road!
When I returned the car, they confirmed the charges that I had to pay and the complimentary ride back to my place was great! All in all a great experience and I definitely will use them again! In fact I did use them later that week and the same great experience!
Quick, efficient, great service, and at a very reasonable price...definitely going to use them again!
After reviewing some yelp reviews, I decided to give Thoms a shot and stopped by as I was shopping at Ala Moana. I was immediately able to get a seat with Dwight and found him to be very personable and figured out what I liked. Sure enough, he cut my hair exactly how I liked it and always got my hair cut. I am definitely going to have to check it out again to make sure I got it down.
The menu is the same as the other locations and you are sure to find something that you would enjoy. Everyone in my party ordered the poke-donburi and it was pretty good although the poke needed a bit more flavor in my book. I opted for the combination bento which is a great mix of food if you aren't exactly sure what you want and is a very generous portion. The teriyaki salmon was perfectly cooked and the tonkatsu was still juicy and not over done.
The service was good and our wait staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. Water glass never went empty which in my book is a very good sign of attentiveness, neither did my green tea come to think of it.
Very good spot for japanese food and certainly someplace i'd go again!
The prices are reasonable and they offer a rotating selection of flavors. So if there is a particular flavor that you want to have, you better call ahead and make sure they have it! The Red Velvet was good, it was decently moist and the cream cheese frosting was decent, but not mouth dropping wow. The Chocolate was rich and full of flavor, however I couldn't help but think that something was missing from it all.
The service is good and they certainly know their flavors, but then again, how hard is it to remember 6 flavors? They definitely are attentive and they go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your selection.
Eh...not too bad...personally I'd rather have a cake!

Trophy Cupcakes & Party
Categories: Desserts, Coffee & Tea, Bakeries
Neighborhood: University District
The cupcakes (no matter what the flavor) have always had their "tops" fall off as I've taken them out of the box. The flavors are there and it certainly tastes yummy, but for me the cupcake is about savoring the morsels and picking back its base paper. That rarely happens for me when I get a cupcake from Trophy.
The service is good and the location is definitely convenient. The parking is available when you go to U-Village (assuming it isn't the holiday season). All in all not that bad of a place to grab a cupcake if you are in a hurry and in the neighborhood, if not, make the trek to Cupcake Royale.

I've come to visit and purchase items a few times now and I have to say the sales staff are very rude and in-attentive if you aren't over 40. I've gone with two of my friends to purchase some items for my bedroom and ended up leaving after speaking to a salesperson for only 5 minutes. They immediately became arrogant as soon as I said I wanted a full-sized bed. Note, I have a smaller bedroom and know what I want. Even after I went to great legnths to explain my style and what I was looking for size wize, they didn't understand and kept trying to make me purchase the most expensive items there which didn't fit my style.
On another time, I took my mom to buy new dining room chairs. Lo and behold service came really quickly! Although, we ended up having to take off the tags and other things ourselves....
Like I said, I really want to like this place, but its sales staff are sooo horrible, I just can't bear to subject my fellow yelpers to it.

The menu features a wide array of your standard American fare and at fairly reasonable prices. Especially considering its Waikiki, I'd expect the prices to be a tad higher. The spinach dip was ok, although I was surprised to find that they deep fried the pita bread. The fries were very lackluster.
The service is ok, but could be improved. The staff don't really communicate with one another and one several occasions in the course of one night, they brought several rounds of drinks twice.
Parking can be a pain. I've opted to just valet park at one of the hotels at the Waikiki Beach Walk and pay the $6. Just be sure to get your ticket validated.
