Don't order a pitcher of margaritas (frozen) if it's just two of you; that is, unless you want to get drunk! The margaritas are delicious, and I am always craving them now. I am glad this place improved!!

I was deeply saddened when Heaping Bowl closed, which was in the same location, but excited to see something new open after several months of vacancy. Much to my dismay, it was a mediocre Mexican resturant!!! I don't mind paying a little bit for good mexican, but if I want bad mexican, I will just drive to a more affluent part of town, and shell out my $10 for a ton of mediocre food. Here, the food is a bit more expensive than I think it can carry, but it is nonetheless. The margaritas are quite decent, that is unless you get the last one in the pitcher... then, it is mostly water. Sorry alcoholics! Other than that mediocre food, the inside of the place is really cool, and they have a giant frog statue that greets you when you walk in, and real palm trees outside. If the food matched the decor, they would have something... but sadly, it doesn't. If you want good cheap Mexican, go to Catina La Casita (which is just down the way behind Mary's). You will be happy you did.

Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant
Categories: Vegetarian, Chinese
I hate that people call it "fake meat", because it isn't fake anything; what it is, is a delicious vegetable based substitute that has a lot of the same flavor, and perhaps most importantly, a lot of the same texture as the meat it mimics. The amount of food that you get for lunch outpaces most places, and would do more than right for the vegetarian on a budget; for about $7, you get soup, appetizer, and a full delicious meal.
My only complaint would be that they are heavy handed on the salt, so make sure to order water, and have them keep bringing you refills. Other than that, sit back and explore; don't be afraid to try something you wouldn't normally try!! Everything I have had here was good.
As for your friends that insist on calling it "fake meat", even after you correct them, just roll your eyes at them... there is nothing "fake" about being a vegetarian.

Midway Pub

The only bad, is that the drinks are a bit pricey. This place appears to be a hip, biker-friendly bar/pub, and the beer and alcohol prices are more suited for the nightlife of Buckhead. I was surprised by this fact.
Now, not to continue churning sour milk, I feel the need to speak about my first bad experience here; which led to me not returning for a very, very long time. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, and it was absolutely undrinkable. It tasted like cleaner, and it was clear to me something was bad in it (maybe bad sour mix?). Either way, instead of taking back the drink and being reasonable about it, the waiter told me that I still had to pay for it, and after noticing that I wasn't going to drink it, offered to go and pour it out for me. Now, I waited tables for many years in college, and I can tell you, that is not acceptable; I never told a customer the equivalent of "tough shit", which is what went down in this scenario. I was angry, and as such, tipped him nothing, and I honestly hate doing that, so I decided not to go back. Now that I have that behind me, I am glad that I checked this place out again, because the food is darn good, and hopefully, nothing like that will happen there again... especially since I will definitely be going back!

I do have to say, I am not a fan at all of the Terminus building (where it is located). I don't like places where you can't freaking park and just walk in without having to park in a deck, or valet, or worry about "shit, I've only got 15 minutes, gotta make this fast". It just makes things more difficult if you ask me (especially because the parking deck in that place is just strange). Also, since the place is VERY small, if there are more than 2 people in the store at the same time, it is a bit of a strange shuffle trying to order and get the goods.
Finally, I have to say a little something about the staff (one in particular). I don't know what pills he takes to be so happy and energetic, but I WANT SOME. Seriously, it wasn't enough that the place looks like Hello Kitty walked in and instantly exploded everywhere, but this guy was so bubbly, he was practically living champagne. It was a little weird, because he called me "Captain" a lot, and literally almost screamed "HAVE A VERY POSITIVE DAY!" as he handed me my receipt. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but I definitely left wondering what sort of drugs could make someone so exuberant. Show owner comment »
Their pancakes with pistachio cream cheese are to die for, and the special of two breakfasts and a pitcher of mimosas or bloody Mary's for $25 is just too awesome to resist.
The waiter was awesome, fast, and extremely nice.
I will DEFINITELY be going back here for brunch in the future.

Green's Beverage Stores
Category: Beer, Wine & Spirits
No, I am NOT a woman; men can carry bags for their shit these days too. No, I will not leave my $400 bag with ipod, wallet, sunglasses, etc. behind the counter, because, if for NO OTHER REASON, women are allowed to carry their bags throughout the store; and therefore, so should I.
Basically, some guy who works at the liquor store came over to me, and bitchily asked me to leave my bag at the counter, to which I replied, "do you ask women to leave their purses at the counter?". He replied, "no, but are you a woman?". Clearly, I am not a fucking woman you asshole, but that doesn't make any difference, I will not leave my bag behind the counter for the same reason that women do not have to. It is the same as a purse, so get the fuck over it. My bag wasn't even big enough to put a bottle of alcohol in without it clearly being noticeable; so what was all the fuss about!?!
What I should have done was just put down my basket full of booze, and walked the fuck out, but instead, I just told him that he would just have to get over it, because I was almost done shopping anyway. What I found interesting, is the lady at the counter heard it all, and said that the reason he approached me, was because he must have thought it was a "backpack"; which interestingly enough, the woman behind me in line was actually wearing, and had carried throughout the store with no fuss.
Needless to say, I won't be going back into this liquor store, and as such, won't have to worry about whether or not I can carry my belongings with me; like all the women are allowed to do. Clearly, they don't need my business, so I can go elsewhere!

Tower Beer Wine & Spirits
Category: Beer, Wine & Spirits
Either way, if you need to get your drink on, head over to Tower, because it is clean, nice, massive, and cheap.
I also liked that they had several selections of sushi that I have heard of, or seen, but have been too afraid to try before now. This gave me an opportunity to try them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked them!
Overall, I love the decor, and if you can find a parking spot, be sure to get your sushi buffet on for $10 on weekdays. You can't beat that, and if you want an alternative to Ru Sans, THIS IS IT!
The ambiance in the place is cute and quaint, and I love the juxtaposition of the old and the new; the modern fixtures and big TV with the antique-looking chairs. The staff was extremely friendly, and the bubble tea was tasty. I will definitely be going back when my sweet tooth starts acting up!
Date

I have eaten there a couple of times now, and the food has been consistently good.
I only have two minor complaints, one, is that the kitchen is open, so if something starts to burn or get a little over done, the whole restaurant can get a little smelly. The second is that the wait for your food can be a bit longer than most places; but since it all comes out fresh and delicious, I am sure that one could (and should) be overlooked.
