Love it. I am a froyoaholic, and this place is just another joint to get my fix. Great flavor variety, and lots of choices. Got the black cherry and it was delicious. I love that they have frequent buyer reward cards, because it will have me coming back for more and more! Also, free froyo on your birthday if you have the card? I'm in!!

This has quickly become amongst my most favorite restaurants in Atlanta; and it's so close to my house, I want to go practically every day. The food is incredible; I have had several things (I'm not a vegetarian anymore, and I can vouch for the meat dishes too) and it is always amazing. The filet mignon is especially amazing; I get that almost every time now, it's so good. The staff are really friendly and always nice. I can't wait to go back!! Also, if you use Foursquare, every third check in, you get a free appetizer; that's even more incentive to go more!

Based on the multitude of one star reviews, I must say that people are being way too hard on this place. I was expecting the worst food ever, and what I got was quite the opposite.

Being a vegetarian, it's nice that they have a couple vegetarian dishes, and a variation of the bun (which was a favorite of mine before making the switch to no fish/meat), which was down right delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal each time I have been here, and haven't found anything worth complaining about.

My partner, who never eats anything that he doesn't know exactly what it is, has even enjoyed both the bun and the pho, and wants to go back to eat here again in the future; to me, that says it all.

If you want "authentic" Vietnamese, trek up to Buford highway, and get your fix, but if you want a great, local alternative, So Ba is IT for the EAV. So all those bitching about how it isn't this, or it isn't that, why aren't you on Buford highway in the first place?!

I, for one, am super thrilled that they are nearby, and I hope they do well; I love having a Vietnamese place so close by!

Finally, I have to say, that each time I have eaten here, I have had stellar service, so if nothing else, it looks like they learned that lesson well from La Casita; treat us well, and we will have no problem coming back for more!! (especially since the food is so good).

Pizzeria Vesuvius

I was about to update my review of this place, when I noticed I never wrote one! That surprises me, because I really, really used to love this place. In fact, a group of friends and I had a standing Thursday night dinner group that met here a while back, and we kept coming back because it had some of the best pizza in Atlanta.

Unfortunately, the key words in the above paragraph are "used to". For whatever reason, we stopped going so regularly, and to be quite honest, in looking back, I think it was because the service started going downhill after they changed managers. We went back a few times, and things were just so painfully slow, and the service was so lack-luster, that the great pizza just couldn't make up for it (dinner shouldn't last more than two hours; especially when most of that time is waiting for our server to figure out that we just want to pay and leave).

Our group decided to reminisce about the good old pizza days, and had dinner there tonight; and were sadly reminded of why we stopped going. The service was atrocious. The waitress started by taking two people at our table's order, and completely walked off. We actually had to flag her down, and call her back over to the table for the four others to order; and she actually looked surprised they wanted to order at all. That was a bad omen for sure.

Then, the wrong pizza came out, and the waitress looked confused, and practically astonished we didn't actually order it that way. She politely apologized, but this had happened to us on a previous visit (thankfully, this time wasn't the exact same experience; that night, they got a whopping FOUR pizzas wrong), so it was unfortunately, just another bad experience repeating itself. When the real pizza came out, it was cold. Follow that with having to flag down servers to ask for more water, and having to wait almost 45 minutes for her to bring us a check (after coming to ask us 3 times what we all had), I just don't think we will be going back here any time soon. I would have given her a little slack if we hadn't been the only table in the restaurant, but by the end, we were, and there was just no reason for her to take so long to cash us out.

It's a real shame, because the (what used to be) pretty great pizza and hip location cannot make up for the long wait times, and almost complete lack of reasonable service. I really used to love this place, and I hate to give them a bad review, but when you've had this type of service, and come to expect it when you go to a place, it's really an accurate reflection of that establishment, which is most unfortunate.

This location definitely has some of the best pizza in/around Atlanta. The BBQ chicken pizza is a current fave, and the pretzels with Parmesan and garlic are out of this world. My mouth waters whenever I think about any of the aforementioned items.

The thing about this pizza joint that really stands out to me, and is something I feel is worth mentioning though, is just how amazing the pizza dough is. Some places, heck, let's be honest, MOST places, I just eat the pizza and throw out the "bones" (aka the crust), because, well, there is nothing special about, and frankly, it's practically cardboard at most pizza joints. But this location's crust is divine. It is almost better than the pizza itself, and that's saying a lot, because the pizza is great. I always look forward to coming here, because we've had many, many great pizzas from this place.

Hmmm, I'm suddenly craving pizza. Darn it!

I know I'll get flack from some people, but this is seriously one of my favorite burgers in all of Atlanta. The first time I came here, I got a bison burger with pimento cheese on top and a wheat bun, and I have never deviated from that order because it is so good. It is succulent, juicy, and very well prepared. It's messy, but it's worth the extra napkins.

The onion rings and fries are both good. The only thing I don't like it about this place, is that it can be kind of busy, but honestly, those people are probably stumbling through the door for the same reason I am; a darn good burger. My partner is always asking me to go to this joint, and I usually end up saying yes, because honestly, their burger is crave-worthy.

I really wanted to like this place, I really did; I've loved the idea of this location for years, and a blogger meet up gave me my opportunity to finally check out the new business in this space. First and foremost, it's just simply overpriced. Someone should really talk to them about price points; the economy is still in a bad place, and most people just don't want to pay that extra few dollars for something that can get just as good, and cheaper somewhere else. That may not be the case for everyone, but it is definitely something that I am sure I am not alone in thinking about. A few dollars here and there adds up, and in this case, where it becomes more noticeable, is when I am paying the extra money, I expect a little bit more.

While the staff was nice, the service was REALLY slow, and it was more noticeable because of how hot the restaurant was. We ordered a third round of drinks at the end of our meal, and I honestly thought they had to go out back and make the whiskey it took so long. It was written all over the server's face too; you could tell he was really embarrassed by how long the bar took to make simple drinks. Again, you expect a bit more when you pay more for something.

The food was simply not worth the aforementioned price point. If you are going to charge $11 for a simple burger, it needs to be at least a decent burger; both of a decent size and taste. Mine was not. In fact, I had to almost force myself to finish it (I was determined to, because it was $11 after all). It wasn't good at all; and it was on the small size. They added pulled pork to the top, which was cute, but really detracted from it over all; I ate that separately. Add to all that, I had to keep asking for ketchup; am I wrong in assuming that people usually want ketchup for their burger (and side of tater tots)? I just thought it was odd that I had to end up waiting for what seemed like forever to get more ketchup (which comes with almost the bare minimum on a little saucer by request only. Again, here we are with those higher expectations.

Overall, I had fun, because I was with great friends, and the staff were nice, even though they were really, really slow; the restaurant was practically empty and we all commented several times on the whereabouts of our server. A friend and I did share a punch bowl, which in hindsight may have been what put the dollar signs in my mind about the night; because they aren't cheap at $40 each. Overall, it was a good experience, but one that will not be good enough to have me go back. The menu is extremely limited, and overpriced, and the drinks are right up there as well. I'm sure this will be no problem for others, but it just didn't work out for me.

It's funny how you revisit a place, and have SUCH a different experience the second time around; and sadly enough, it's only then that you want to tell the internets about it.

I met some friends for brunch the other day, and when we arrived, the waitress assumed it was a party of two, since the other two hadn't arrived yet. Instead of being courteous, she steamed, "Well, you cannot be sat until your entire party arrives", and stormed off. Um, that's fine, but why so huffy? We were the only people waiting at the door. Chill out, lady.

After we were sat, I was sure things would get better, but they really just kinda stayed meh at best. I ordered ala carte from the brunch menu; a grilled cheese and fries, because I wasn't feeling an $11 all you can eat brunch this particular morning. Looking back, however, I wish I had just gone with the brunch. The grilled cheese was inedible. How do you mess up grilled cheese? It's just two pieces of toasted bread with cheese in the middle! Overall, it was just the type of experience that would make me seriously think twice about going back; which is sad, because I do have fond memories of it before. Oh well.

I had brunch here once, and it was divine. The place is a little cramped, but you can get over that when you taste the food. I haven't eaten there any other time than brunch, so I am not an authority on anything else!

Cheap, amazing, authentic; three words that definitely describe this place. I am back on the meat wagon, and the chicken kabob sandwich at this place is just what the doctor ordered. Be sure to get the potatoes, because they are incredible. The hummus is also to die for. Great food, great smells, and great prices; what's not to love?

Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches

I'll be honest; it's just a sandwich place. However, that being said, the sandwiches must have crack in them, because they can only be described by one word accurately: FANTASTIC.

Seriously, something they do (I don't know if it's the bread, topping ratio, or the whole package) to them makes them out of this world, and so much better than both Subway and Jersey Mikes. There aren't many places I will drive to Midtown to eat (when I can just eat in the EAV), but Jimmy John's is certainly one of those places.

The only way I could be any happier, is if there was one closer by my house. However, then I would probably gain like 100lbs from eating delicious sandwiches. Eh, I'd be more than willing to take that chance.

While I am certainly sad that Stella had to bow to make way for Doc Chey's debut in Grant Park, I am as thrilled as I can be that they are so close to my house now.

If you want great food at great prices, consistently great service, and something quick, wholesome, and delicious, go to Doc Chey's... it's as simple as that.

Now... the only problem I will have, is NOT eating here every night; especially now that it is so close by!!
