It has finally arrived what all of Abilene has been waiting for a bar to open at the old Zone location, Bar 14. Bar 14 Lounge opened on 17th March 2012, I found out about it due to a friends Facebook page it seems he fails to invite people so I just had to go see for my self what it was about.  

As you would expect Bar 14 has the same basic floor plan as The Zone, the bar has several beers on tap table with lounge sofas to relax unwind with friends or business partners. I noticed 2 televisions with the football game on as you would expect after it Texas.

The sports area contains a pool table. The greeting I received as I entered was very welcoming; the waitress staff was very helpful explaining the menu and drink specials. Tired of the same old chicken wing or buffalo wings I went with beef bites Coor's Light & a shot of Tequila a basic combo you can't go wrong with. The cost came to $13 gave a $2 tip for a total of $15 about average that you would expect from their competition.  Motorcycle parking still has a few spots out front. Live music plays several nights always good to see.

Overall real good place will need to attend several more times to get the full feel of the place and what the owners are going to do with the place. May have to try it for an upcoming Unofficial Yelp Event

Over the past few years I've attend several events at the Abilene Civic Center, car show concerts & conventions and this weekend (March 2-3) The Big Country Home & Garden Expo. The Abilene Civic Center works very well for most any venue.

You can buy paint just about anyplace in Abilene, at the "Big Box Stores" offer a one stop shop with discounts that attract buyers. Sometimes it's better to pay for "Quality" paint even if you don't get a discount. Quality paint can give a quality return on both looks & return of valve.

You can only imagine the shock surprise as I entered "Love at First Sight" dressed in my best double knit suit, shirt collar over the jacket, As I enter Love at First Sight I unbutton my shirt to expose more chest hair, cuz I know ladies like that, flowers chocolate (mars bar) in hand. Only to find out it's a Veterinary Clinic, not a dating service... JUST DOGS.

Armando's Mexican Food, I went there few times now been putting off writing a review because there are so many Mexican and or Tex-Mex places in Abilene as you would expect. Armando's Mexican Food is large enough to fit most lunch time crowd eating at that location. The chips, loved them, service was timely, Staff friendly and helpful. The menu was a bit confusing for me... I'd like to see something different if they would find a niche Mexican food and do it a bit different that anyone else then promote it. Armando's Mexican Food has a place in Abilene, Wish them luck in a tough market of Mexican luncs

If you have a pool this is the place to fo to to get info and supplies in Abilene. Very helpfull.

You can sit inside the Lone Star bar and drink a Lone Star beer, how Texas is that.

Going out of business sale going on. Sad yo see them go.

Texas Steak Express, For those times when you want to eat a steak but still need to be on the go... This is the place for you. They deliver or you and be all Techie and order on-line, how cool is that! Pricing I feel is fair for what you get. The only thing I don't like about the place is I like to eat in the restaurants yea they have tables but it just don't feel right when you sit there.. that may just be me. Give the order on-line a try let me know how it turns out, BTW down load coupons for extra savings
