Anyway, just a disclaimer, I am by no means writing this because I practically got a cheesesteak for free, but because the cheesesteak was truly delicious =)
I got a cheesesteak with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and lots of cheese whiz and it was awesome. I loved every bite. I really wish they served fries on the side, but the chips I got were pretty tasty too. The place is tiny with no seating, so your best bet is to take it to-go.

The GRAMMY Museum
Category: Arts & Entertainment
Neighborhood: Downtown
My friends and I enjoyed the floor that was dedicated to music production. They had different sound 'studios' equipped with mixers, where you were guided through various steps of the production process by a real producer who appeared on a video screen. Our favorite station was "Rapping with Jermaine Dupri." Haha.
Being a media producer myself, I was also very impressed with their touchscreen interactives, particularly the large touch table that highlighted all different genres of music and their origins. They also have a great theater, which at the time was playing all Michael Jackson music videos.
The Grammy Museum is a great addition to downtown LA. A must-visit for all the music fans.

Glass Pro

I had a large crack in my windshield and called up Glass Pro after reading the Yelp reviews. A very nice man helped me and told me that they would waive my AAA deductible so my service would be free! Score! So I scheduled a mobile installation at my workplace... Which i found out was a huge mistake.
The installer was supposed to come on a Friday between 2 and 5pm. He eventually arrived at 6pm. The installer was pretty unprofessional to say the least. His baby mama was calling his cell every minute (i'm serious!) and he rushed through the installation, which resulted in a crack in the plastic windshield cowling. Then he did a poor attempt of gluing the piece back on. He quickly finished the installation and went on his way.
Immediately Monday morning I called Glass Pro to complain about my experience. I spoke to the same nice service rep from before and he told me to come in so they could check it out. After seeing the damage, he ordered the new cowling, and I came back a week later when it arrived to have it installed for free. The service rep apologized and explained that their mobile installers are contracted, so they have no control over the work they do. He highly recommended installations in their shop since they could supervise.
So the whole process took forever, but at least it was free and the rep was very helpful. I'd come back again, but I will definitely never do a mobile installation again.

Porto's Bakery

I will not elaborate further on the delicious bakery items since Yelpers before me have done them justice. (Just try them!!!) But I will say, the Cuban sandwich is good but the Bistec sandwich is better. It had deliciously marinated steak strips, onions, tomatoes, and crunchy shoestring potatoes like those Picnic chips I used to love as a kid. Drool.
The only bad thing about Porto's is that they're only located in Southern California. I hope someone from the Porto family decides to move to the Bay Area and open a branch. I guarantee they will have regular customers!

The burger is one of the best I've had-- juicy beef, carmelized onions, cheese, and arugala, served on a french roll-- Can you say "flavor-explosion"? They also had some ranch-bleu-cheese-like sauce on the side that was really tasty. Plus-- they have an impressive selection of beers on tap!
I agree it's a bit pricey. It's definitely a more treat-yourself-out type of spot, so don't come here to try and get a quick, cheap eat-- Especially if you plan on trying a couple exotic beers!
