I am talking the parking lot in back prior to a gopher football game... the Surly is flowing and the pretzel burgers are great after not standing in line at concessions at TCF!
The place is just far overdue cool.... hit Stub and Herb's prior for the surly taps out back! Tell Jim Butch sent ya.!
My wife and I went there today (without appt) however, if the door is open, it says to come in....so we did. Ian was there doing his business, but generously took the time to show us around and chat.... what a nice guy. If you have the chance to make it here and you want some authenticity to your decor...you won't be disappointed.
great when you don't want to spend all day at the course... or can spend all day. (2 year old at home) Good no frills course. This year is a tough review as it is so dry outside..hard to keep up the greenery. I thought it was well worth the time, though.
For Health clubs I need good treadmills...check, ESPN on the TV while running...check, Good selection of free weights....check, a place to stretch after working out....double check. I use to go to lifetime, but it was too far a drive. The price is nice as well... with the 20 bucks off for going 12+ times a month, it costs me 15 bucks a month to go...can't beat that. As a bonus, If I am feeling particularly sinful, I can skip church and go to spinning for a dose of penance.
If you are looking for good hardware, this is not the place. However, if you are looking for the new Barbie movie and a giant bucket of cheetos, well mister, you have found heaven.

I went there with my daughter and shared an oreo sugar cone. On top they ask about an 'izzy' scoop. a small scoop on top of the cone... let's me be get something I wouldn't normally get, so I went with the dolce leche, or something like that... bam! that was fantastic! Really neat little place with fantastic ice cream.
Second time was good as well... definitely not the bang for the buck that one gets at GOC. It was very good, though

Hmmm. this is one place that, I think, is a little emperor's new clothes-ish. I mean, it is pretty cool inside, but the burgers were very ordinary state fair venue. I was thinking big thick juicy burger with cheese in it, but really what you get is two almost pre-manufactured burgers sealed together around the edges with cheese inside. It was o.k., but nothing really to write home about, or wait in line for.
Interesting place... It was pretty bright out, so when we opened the solid door, I literally couldn't see inside. We were greeted right away and seated very quickly. Everything was nice about the place. A good dive pizza place. Pizza was good and very reasonable. Their tap beer was something like.. Leinenkugel, miller lite, bud, bud-light, and michelob... I would have given an extra one star for a Surly on tap. Definitely a different kind of place with its own unique pizza.
We went to the modern with our 2 year old for a late breakfast on saturday. I think that is all they serve until maybe dinner. I had the pot roast hash which was dang good... they get the hash browns nice and toasty brown and crispy.. I like that. My wife had the pancakes... they were pretty darn big and really good! Good atmosphere with a little one (not too quiet).
