Definitely not Tenren! But we have to admit that their teas are not bad, we expected another Tapioca Express but we were pleasantly surprised to find out that their almond milk tea and honey jasmine green tea came really close to the ones at Tenren. As you can tell, we are diehard Tenren fans.
Despite the decent milk teas, they do not have mini boba which is definitely a -1 for us. Maybe it's because we've gotten so used to those mini boba balls from Tenren...
All we know is that this place beats any other boba place around there, it definitely isn't Tenren but this place will do for our daily tea cravings. We just wish traffic wasn't so bad going down Sawtelle from Westwood. Oh and the valet parking is ridiculous, why can't we just park without valet-ing? That plaza is tiny but I guess it does get packed. Don't forget to stop by that little japanese store next door, they have a lot of cute stuff :)
All in all, we are fans and we are definitely coming back...but that's only because the closest Tenren is a bit too far away :(

Bodega Wine Bar

Fresh air on the open patio + humus + a bottle of wine = a nice setting to unwind a busy day or to grab a bite to eat.
Compared to the Santa Monica location the menu is a tad smaller and the interior is much smaller which means less seating for patrons. Despite the smaller interior they have an outside seating area which easily makes up for the lack of space on the inside.
The wine wall is brightly illuminated which is much cuter then the Santa Monica wine wall and the waiters here were much more attentive and friendly.
Super good experience overall, we will definitely come back to Bodega again :) -- Most likely to their Santa Monica location since we've moved to the Westside :)

This is the first time we have been to the Santa Monica location. The place was a lot larger than what we anticipated, the sitting areas were warm and cozy and combined with the lighting, it allowed a fun and intimate dining experience with our friends.
The food menu had 5-6 more selections than the Pasadena location. The brie cheese & apple pizza was delicious, as well as the baked potatoes slightly seasoned with rosemary leaves and garlic. Thank goodness the hummus tasted the same as the Bodega in Pasadena, because they have handsdown the best hummus we have ever eaten!
Overall, Bodega is a really good place to go and have a bottle of wine and dinner with anyone. We like the menu here but prefer the service in Pasadena :)

Date

I felt compelled to try this place after seeing a facebook link on my friends profile highlighting this burger under what was in my mind a beam of light shining down from the Greek gods above us.
2 mins after looking at the picture my mouth was filled with saliva and I spent the rest of the day convincing my gf that we should take a drive down Wilshire and eat at a spot called Rustic Canyon for dinner.
We got there and we were pleasantly surprised by their decor, the restaurant is small but extremely cute and the bar small but comfy.
I would suggest making reservations for this place as the tables are usually spoken for via reservations and the bar seating is limited.
Now the good stuff, the burger.... my goodness it was good, my cravings from that picture I saw were satisfied.
Been here again since the first time and we've tried other things on the menu too. Overall a good dining experience and the staff there are courteous and helpful.
If you havent been here it doesnt hurt to try it :)
