Whiteys--ahhh, what can I say, your a bar/restaurant after my own heart. Loads of appetizers and sandwiches and a good bar to boot. Ate lunch there today, and it's quite a popular spot for the noon time meal. And I can see why. A table mate and myself had the turkey burger, which was very good. The other companion had the tuna melt, which look deelish. The fries were my style--not thick and potatoey, but since have a sodium love affair, I could have used them a little saltier. Service was efficient and friendly, and you can sit outside on nice days (which it wasn't today).
This place has all the fixins of a great bar, and, as my mate observed, looks like it saw a lot of love before the smoking ban since everything has that nicotine soaked look to it. But it only lends to the character of the place.

This review is for the bar only!!!
Came here for a HH drink tonight. Lovely. There was a jazz band playing downstairs and the music flowed up well...not overbearing but all while maintaining the acoustic integrity.
Are you a bubbly lover? Then come to this HH. Lots of fun champagne drinks for 5 bucks. YUM. I have the Rhubarb champagne drink and the rhubarb was very subtle, but still delicious. The stark white atmosphere made me think of a winter wonderland on this chilly rainy day. I'll definitely go back for a drink and would even entertain having a post-business meeting here.
I can't wait to try the restaurant out. Oh, and our service was great.

My friend bought a t-shirt there that reads: Local Is Beautiful.
Beautiful indeed. And that's what makes I Like You gorgeous.
I'm already giddy about my holiday shopping.
Oh, their (newish) NE location is much better than their old one, and the astro-grass flooring rocks.
As Julie K said, Locavore shopping...and at its best! If you were at Craftsmas or Craft-o-rama, you'll recognize many of the local designers/artists I Like You carries. Great place to buy a unique gift, but probably more for your friend or sister than your mother (unless she's quite the crafty hopster). They carry Adam Tuman as well!
Please note: they are only open at this location till the 23rd of December. They are then going to be opening up in Northeast -- but not till April!

I love myself a good grilled cheese. Especially when paired with a cup of tomato soup. Unfortunately, TB didn't make me happy with theirs. They add either Parmesan or asiago to it and it's just way way way too strong. Overpowered the entire sammy. Didn't even finish it. Sad lady I was. The only thing that made it slightly ok was the soup. Damn, they've got good soup.
Have the other Turtle Breads have suddenly offered an expanded menu under the name of Tosca? Might have to do some investigating.
Basically, TB now offers a larger breakfast and lunch menu, including daily special. They kept the original menu as well. I've had their grilled vegetable and goat cheese sandwich a couple of times now, and i've been happy each time. the chicken sandwich also has been applauded as well, although I have yet to have a bite. Their soup kicks ass, as always.
It can get packed in here during Sat and Sun, but if you have some patience, it's worth the wait.
This great coffee shop/bakery allows us to kill two birds with one stone on weekend mornings: our dog gets a good walk and we get necessary sustenance. I go for the fresh squeezed juices and their quiche of the day, and my husband grabs a latte and a decadent pastry. When the weather is nice, they offer outside seating where you can watch the never ending flow of strollers.
In addition to breakfast, they have a nice array of sandwiches and other goodies that make for a great impromptu picnic down at Calhoun. I'm also a big fan of their soups...especially the carrot curry.
My favorite find here, though, is a real time saver. If you like to cook, but making homemade stock isn't your thing, you can pick up fresh, homemade chicken stock in the fridge here. Life saver.

The food is ok, nothing to write home about, but it's solid bar food none the less.
I seem to be ending p here regularly but with no desire to do so. I'd rather be pub crawling around other joints in the hood, but my pack seems to be intimidated by the idea of me being tour guide for a night.
That must end soon.
