Still the service was neat and menu is vast, and I was surprised to see "Rigatoni Broccoli Rabe," that happens to be one of my fav veggies and the "garlic oil and butter" sauce and "parmigiano-reggiano" sealed the deal! Also ordered the zuchiini frittata appetizer and my wife tried one of the house specialties "Eggplant Al Forno."
I found the zuchinni breading too heavy and the actual fritta were oddly finger shaped, instead of the typical round slices. The sauce was decent but not great! Then came our entered. The portions were huge! I was saddened to find what I'm pretty sure was frozen broccoli rabe. The mushrooms also tasted/felt like canned. The "garlic oil and butter" sauce was watered down alfredo. Finally there was certainly no parmigiano-reggiano. Despite all these very disappointing setbacks, it wasn't altogether unpleasing. Just a letdown from high expectations and certainly not what is described on the menu.
My wife's eggplant dish, too, didn't quite seem to match the menu description and appeared more like a rollatini. That said, it was tasty.
Rest of family had pizza which looked nice, very thin crust and loads of cheese. They seemed to like it.
Overall I would return, but not for some time - and with diminshed expectations. There's a lot of great Italian places around town, and why settle for "eh?"
Worth noting: we were with kids and skipped drinks, but there appeared to be a full bar. Outside dining area with beatiful view of lake, and several hdtvs around dining room. This place may be more enjoyable for "family dining."
