I found some postcards that I fell in love with at the gift shop at the Loveless Cafe and wondered who had designed them. This is how I found out about Anderson Design Group. They really do some amazing print work that show cases local iconic landmarks, restaurants, and even cities across the nation. As soon as I found out they had a store at their office I decided to go check it out.

It's a cute little store with very unique gifts. It's the perfect place to pick some things up for yourself or to take to friends back home. I just moved to Nashville and am missing Chicago. They had a wonderful print of Chicago showing the Sears Tower and the lakefront. It's very vintage style and if framed correctly looks spectacular! I also picked up a print of San Francisco which is another city I love. They also have Olive & Sinclair chocolates and cute tins with shortbread cookies and their vintage prints.

I don't know much about their B2B work, but from what I can tell they do not disappoint. If you live in Nashville you have probably seen their work around town. Check out their website and stop by their store for some cool art and gifts. This is a true gem in Nashville!

Rumba

I went to Rumba for the first time a few days ago on a Saturday night and had a great experience there.

We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 8pm reservations, but were seated right away anyway. That was really nice!

Our server was really great. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name as it is quite loud, but she took the time to explain to us how their menu worked, some of her favorites, and little details that are oh so important like that they make their breads in house. That include hamburger buns, flat breads, and naan! Ohhh yeah.

Since this place is a rum bar I of course had to try a couple of mojitos. I got a classic and added some st. germain (per our waitress' reco) and it was quite tasty and strong. I also tried the pomegranate which tasted like cranberry and the mango. All the drinks were strong which is a plus in my book.

The food was all great. We ordered some things to share and all had our own plates too. I had a couple of chicken skewers with salad which was great because they serve it with 3 dipping sauces like peanut sauce, chimichurri, and sweet and sour. I also had their chicken bbq pineapple pizza which totally hit the spot with the drinks. Others at the table tried different burgers and really enjoyed them too.

The only food item I did not enjoy were the stuffed peppers. The goat cheese tasted a bit sour for some reason and the peppers were a bit off in texture as well. Other than that I was quite pleased with the food, drinks, and service.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

I've been to Jeni's about three times now and WOW. Hands down some of the best ice cream I have had in the US of A.

Coming from Bellevue it's a bit of a drive over to East Nash, but so well worth it. It's also a great place to take family or friends who are visiting Nashville. It will definitely give them a reason to want to come back and visit you!

The quality of Jeni's is top notch. In my humble opinion the ice cream is oh so very fresh, creamy, and after the first lick you just retreat to a happy place in your mind. That takes me to the experience part. The baristas working there are super friendly and they do not rush you at all. They encourage you to try as many flavors as you'd like and can help you pair flavors if you find something you love, but are indecisive about what other flavor might go with it. Knowledgeable, friendly, with a heavy sprinkle of Southern Hospitality. What's not to love about these people and their ice cream!

Do yourself a favor and go today and take a pint or two home with you!

This review is for Elan Skin and I had a really good experience at Elan! I of course found out about Elan through Yelp and am glad I came here.

It was nice that there were no raising of the eyebrows when a guy walked in to get his eyebrows threaded! Instead, I was greeted by friendly staff and filled out some new comer paper work. After that Rajni came to get me and took wonderful care of me.

Rajni is quick, precise, and made my brows look clean yet masculine. Thank you to her!

Another highlight was when I was leaving I got a little goodie bag with some chocolate, coupons, and skin products. That was a nice gesture!

Another plus is being able to book online. Gotta love that! The only thing is you have to register and wait a couple of days for them to send you your password so if you are new and need an appointment asap then you should just call.

This is an upscale place with upscale prices so no more $9 threading like I had in Chicago, but that's okay. The great service, results, and welcoming atmosphere is well worth it.

The Patterson House

I think this is the first "speak easy" I've ever been to in my life and it's a wonderful gem in Music City.

All of the drinks I've had are superb. The attention to detail is amazing from the glass chosen to the garnishes. Patterson House is really an adult beverage playground!

I'm a fan of vodka and rum and have always enjoyed my drinks from these families. If you are overwhelmed on what to get just ask your server and tell them what you usually like. They can recommend something that will suit your palate.

I've only had the pizzas here and they were very delicious! They tasted like they came from a wood burning oven and I just loved the charred pieces of the crust. The special that was available when I was there was so unique - brussels sprout, roasted chicken and a spicy ragu sauce = YUM!

My only hesitation for not giving 5 stars is that the service can be a little off sometimes. One time I was there they forgot to bring out an app and by the time the waiter came back we were ready to go.  Just make sure you are ready to be patient as the cocktails and pizzas are definitely worth it!

I'm new to Nashville and have fallen in love with this park that's not too far from my apartment. I've been going religiously as I've been missing the lakefront trail in Chicago.

There is a main paved loop which is just under 2 miles (at least it looks like it when I mapped it out). Once I was comfortable with that loop I started venturing out to first other paved trails then to the dirt trails which have all been fun.

My favorite and probably the longest and most difficult is the blue trail. Definitely a great workout and just a great time to enjoy the scenery.

I actually have been really close like 5 feet from deer and 10 feet from a Barn owl and too close to a snake for my liking so be prepared! Just use your common sense and you'll be fine.

I look forward to more fun runs and hiking in my new hometown park.

I enjoyed my old gym in Chicago. It's DePaul's gym and as an alumni I got a great rate for a great gym!

The gym is good for people who want to do focus on cardio, weights, play basketball, run on a cool indoor track...I can't speak to the classes and trainers, but that is available as well.

It's a great value for what you get and near transit. My only dislike were the showers. Sometimes those curtains and tiles looked like they need a cleaning or need to be replaced. Other than that it's a great gym if you live in the neighborhood.

I came to Nightwood for brunch this morning with a friend from high school and we had a great meal and a great time!

The place was extremely busy and crowded as expected at 11:30am on a Sunday. That made the service a little slow, but we were in no rush so it was fine. However, our food came out so quickly so that was great!

We both could not take our eyes of the goat cheese crepes and we did not go wrong with that selection! A little savory and a little sweet...a great balance! The portions were small, but the goat cheese is so rich and creamy that's it's just fine.

We both had coffee and I had a mimosa and our entrees and it was a bit pricey. However, you pay what you get for and the quality, presentation, atmosphere, and welcoming staff all make it worth it! This was a special occasion as I hadn't seen my friend in 7 years I think...so when I have a new guest from out of town visiting. I'm definitely making reservations here again. (Yes they take brunch reservations -- Score!!)

Thank you Nightwood!! Looking forward to my next visit!

You know you love a place when you can't stop eating even though you feel like you might throw up if you eat another bite. Yep...it's that good.

This place delightfully tacky and quite large. I was really surprised by the service here. We had a beautiful, charismatic, and friendly waitress who was always smiling and just took great care of us.

The best part was the food of course. We had the vegetarian starter which was so great with tabbouleh, baba ganush, hummus, falafels, and stuffed grape leaves. YUM!! Especially the baba. It had a smokey taste that was so good with the warm bread.

We were served soup to start which was a bit salty - I had a lemon chicken soup. Next was the entree and I had my favorite the chicken kebab with fries. The chicken was just grilled perfectly and had a zesty lemon taste and the garlic yogurt sauce to dip it in made it just perfect.

If you are looking for good food and great service...do give this place a try!

The main reason I came to visit Detroit Metro was for the Middle Eastern Food and this place did not disappoint! The place itself was what I expected. A little dated and a little tacky (really any good ethnic restaurants is like this!)

The tabbouleh salad was so good as was the hummus. My main entree was a breaded deep fried chicken breast. It was pounded so it was thinner too and it was oh so good. They also served some nice hot lentil soup and some kind of potato/tomato soup that was also good. So much food and all so delicious! The final highlight was the warm fresh bread that you can see them making in the oven. Try it with hummus!
