Okay, I'm stuck waiting around for an computer appointment and it's way past lunch. Might as well eat. The Thai Chicken Bowl is actually a vegetable rich bento. Not much chicken, but it's mixed with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. The only thing I really loved was the snow peas sautéed in sesame oil and tossed with sesame seeds. Every thing was cold except for the rice. Not so cool in winter weather, but I ate it. Next time, I'll take it in a wrap!

Thai Ginger

Thai Ginger before a movie on New Year's Day wasn't the best idea. Went in got seated. Told the waitress I needed to make it quick like 30-minutes or less. She somehow forgot to place my order. Then, came back to me when I should of been leaving and asked, "What did you order, again?"

Sipping my Thai iced tea, I almost choked and in shock replied, "Tofu basil and brown rice."

They turned speedy almost immediately. And I missed the movie, but caught a later flick.

The meal looked gorgeous. Then, I tried it. It was hot instead of mild. But I was happy that they used fresh chili peppers versus the powdered or sauce stuff. It was red-hot flavor masking the garden freshness, however, it was still a crispy stir-fry with chewy grainy brown rice that went down well with Thai Iced Tea.

Happy 2012!

Icicle Brewing Company

Icicle Brewing Company was just jam-packed. People love this place so much that we're willing to wait in communist lines to sample German beers, pints and/or pitchers. Then, sit around in freezing weather over barbecue benches making friends with other tourists, sharing pretzels and mustard's. It seems all wrong, but the place is like crazy cool. You just may have to experience it.

Good Mood Food

Good Mood Food is hot. It should be on the Leavenworth Map, (because they are a touch away from the charming Bavarian congestion inbetween hotels, motels and inns). They serve coffee stuff, breakfast, brunch, lunch foods and small gifts. The menu is small, but it includes gluten-free and macrobiotic foods. Their overall style comes off as eclectic.

Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum

The Nutcracker Museum is completely unreal. I thought it would of been boring, however, there is so much to see. There were thousands of nutcracker statues, historical nut cracker machines, other related antiques, pocket knife collections, Indian Art and some more....

The admission was only $2.50, which was a complete shocker. So I purchased merchandise (t-shirt, but they have other things too). It goes towards maintaining the museum. If you're in Leavenworth, The Nutcracker Museum is worthwhile.

Double N's Salon

Double N's Salon is a cool place. They're spacious and offer many beauty services. It's fun to get stuff done. It makes me feel energized. I've only done manicures, pedicures and waxing services there, but that's like what I'd do anywhere else. And they do a good job, which is why I go there. It's the best reason.

On a word-of-mouth level, eyelash extensions are a must have these days. The difference of before and after is quite dramatic in a totally gorgeous way. This would be like a perfect solution for those that have lots of holiday parties planned and can't handle clumpy mascara, eyelash curlers, and/or fake lashes.

The weekends (Friday and Saturday) get pretty busy. So calling ahead for an appointment would be a novel idea. Unless, you're willing to take a chance and wait around.

Their prices on all their products/services are competitive to the area (Belltown, Seattle). Also, the people are friendly.

Queen City Grill

Queen City Grill just completely rocks. I haven't there in a while, but went this evening. The intimate steak house with seafood and lots of fine spirits added more vegetarian options to the menu.

The house salad was excellent. Baby spinach, arugula, string beans and grapefruit sections in a light vinaigrette. The pan-seared lasagna was good. The texture and taste of an egg crepe (however, it was fresh lasagna noodles) stuffed with arugula and ricotta, covered in a tomato-cheese sauce. It probably would of been low-carb if I didn't eat so much bread.

Nice ambiance with good people.

Tonight, I ordered takeout from Sushi Wave. I always seem to complain about their food, but not tonight. The Makimono Dinner was an impressive combination of rolls, (california roll, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll with miso). Totally enjoyable!

Update - 11/24/2011
Unsure what to do for Thanksgivng Day, I headed over to BOKA (on reservations) for a vegetarian feast. It was completely unlike what my mom use to cook, but still... totally awesome. I even indulged in some cocktails. And they had a big screen tv for football. Modern and elegant.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night!

BOKA has great music and the ambiance of a ritzy diner. The dinner menu does not currently include any meatless entrees. Although, they have some fabulous health conscious foods. Vegetarian finds can be found on the appetizer and starter columns, which can be easily served as a main course. Dignified dessert menu. Excellent wine list, signature cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks.

Top Pot Doughnuts

Top Pot Doughnuts has a commercial. It was cool enough to make me want funky flavored doughnuts for breakfast. So I went to my neighborhood location. It has to be most studious looking coffee shop in all of Seattle. Pleasant ambiance.

Today, the grooviest doughnut flavors on their menu were glazed pumpkin spice and raspberry bismarck. I decided to get them. They were overtly sweet and cake-like in density. Maybe most people enjoy that, however, the experience was just pure torture on my taste-buds. Even when plunged in soy drip (coffee with soy milk). But I survived.
