I ordered a pastrami sandwich, turkey sandwich, chicken matzo ball soup, and french fries. All told I think the total came out to almost $50 bucks. Kinda of pricey for a deli, but the portions made it ok. I mean, how in the world do you take a bite out of a sandwich that big? I literally had to almost just pick at the meat before taking a bite. The meat was just as I'd expect. Very flavorful, with a nice peppery bite to the flavor. The matzo ball soup? Wow, the size of the ball was as big as a softball! But very nicely done!
Since I ordered takeout, I can't really say very much about the service. As I sat there waiting for my order, I didn't really see too many "locals" there. Most of the patrons looked like tourist. i.e. high socks, pale, fanny packs, and cameras galore. LOL. I must of have looked like one too! Not that I had any of those must have tourist accessories. LOL.
Next time I'm in NYC, I'd probably go back, only if I was in the area. I'd really have to try "Katz's" deli just to compare and contrast the different styles of pastrami. Since Carnegie thin slice vs. Katz's hand cut thick slices. Humm....

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House
Category: Steakhouses
Food was pretty good, sauce's were extra. It's the standard steakhouse fare. I had the rib eye, which I might add was pretty good. Nicely cooked and very flavorful. The vegetables sides, were good too. Considering it is a steakhouse, the creamed spinach was good, along with the corn and etc.
Overall it is pretty solid in terms of food and service. I would definitely go back and enjoy another fine meal here.
Ok, the food is really not too bad. Actually for the amount of food you get for your money is really good. Most take-out places don't even allow you to take soup to go, but they offer you 2 choices and package everything up for you. I usually get the dinner special, It usually comes with whatever you order, i.e. kung pao chicken, soup, rangoons, rice, and sweet and sour chicken.
I have yet to try the Thai portion of the menu, but I would suspect it wouldn't be as good as the Chinese? That will be for another day.

With that being said, DJK does have a happy hour, I think it's starts @ 11pm, I'm assuming it's to cater to the service industry folks out there. The dining room service is not too bad, it's kinda of everything you'd want, fast and courteous.
The food is really not too bad. Since I'm usually one of those Vegas locals who just happen to "stumble" in here every chance I get, I usually get the soon-tofu or bim-bim-bop, both the stone and regular. Every time I've gone there, everything from the ban chan and the dishes are very decent. Really no negatives, however I do wish they would have noodles after 9 pm.
I usually order the chicken combination. It comes with the following; Grilled Chicken, Rice, Small salad...Vegetables is offered at a additional
The chicken is decent with a good sauce. They have a bunch of Siracha sauce for your use. The rice at times can be a little on the sticky side, but the it's not too bad. The Vegetables is usually on the a bit of the bland side, but what can you do?
Over all it's not a bad joint, I would go back there, but too bad they're not open late night?
The dinning area is very cozy with a couple of tables and a bar area. Only beer and wine is served here.
Impressive! I ordered a variety of oysters on a half shell with both the white wine vinegar and cocktail sauce. Oysters were very fresh! Not complaints here. It was on par with some of the oysters I've had in Seattle!
After a few locally brewed beers, I finally decided to get the one of the house specials, a dish with a crouton, topped with braised pork, topped with a deep fried oyster. It was served with a pistachio vinaigrette, and golden raisins. At first I was skeptical about the whole pistachio/raisin/oyster combination was going to play out. But in reality it worked! It worked well!
Overall it was a pretty good experience, my only regret was that I was too full to try the lobster rolls. Next time!

Ok, now to the good stuff, the food! Having been to many steakhouse's around Vegas and for that matter, many others around the country, I didn't hope for very much. It'd be like me comparing a BMW to a Chevy. Both are great for what they do, but the details is what matters! Now, knowing this, I looked at this place as a Chevy, a mid-level steakhouse catering to more of a family crowd.
To start, there was a house special, bacon wrapped scallops over a bed of red pepper salad? Hum. I think it was more like bacon wrapped scallops over a few silvers of red peppers. Scallops were great, but it just needed a bit more substance.
The second appetizer was the lobster bisque. Everything was ok, but seemed like more lobster meat was needed.
Now to the steaks, the rib-eye's were solid. Nothing to really negative write about. Just the usual suspects. However a couple of things worth mentioning is that the lack flavoring of the various sauces they offer to the diner. Since there was 3 of us eating I thought we'd get a mix match of the sauces they offered. We ordered the red-wine, green peppercorn, and morel mushroom sauce. To be quite honest with you, it all tasted the same! Heavy on the cream, no honest flavoring of the various ingredients.
Just like a classic steakhouse's side dishes were all al la carte. That being said, potatoes, ho hum, sauteed spinach, well at least the water should be drained a bit, and the fries? I think it was frozen. Oh well? What can you do?
Now to the service...Very polite, but I would say they need to take a page out of service 101. i.e. being polite goes only so much, while knowledge of the food goes all the way! This being said, servers did not know what sauces I was asking about... just referring me to the listing they have... Promptly correcting a error is key to a great experience, but there was none...wrong sauces were brought to us...no apology...a steak someone ordered was returned to the kitchen for being kinda of "off"...no apology...asking what the specials were...did not know...
With a city filled with great steakhouses, I might think twice before coming here again.

First, the decor and atmosphere was pretty cool. You're right next to the pool. Anything table is a good table here! Secondly, the food was pretty good. Not too bad. Since I've only been here during the day, the limited lunch menu consisted of the typical light fare...Sushi, various sandwiches, and salads. I had the turkey melt with fries, as some in my group enjoyed the soup and sandwich combo. Lastly, service was great! Enough said, very professional and attentive without being too pushy. Just what you'd expect from a place like this.
I have to check out the dinner menu when I get a chance, until then, it seems like a place that serves American classics with a twist!
Enjoy!
I got there around 6pm on a Wednesday night! Keep in mind that only 3 tables were occupied with only 3 people at the bar. Call it poor seating, being unorganized? Trying to seat 2 people in a corner section facing 1ft. from the wall is not my cup of tea. I asked for a table, but to no avail! I was told that they are not available! huh? what? are you kidding me? on an early Wed, night? Not even a 1/4 full dining room? No reserve signs on the tables? hum... Don't know about you, but the last time I actually paid to eat facing a wall...Well never, so I certainly was not about to start now...It was kinda of obvious that my business was not wanted...I just walked out without saying anything...Too bad, cause the service was usually OK, but I kept coming back for the food...Now it seems like I will not come back for a while...

Good Food & Vibe!
Where can you get Beef, Chicken livers, and Gizzards? While eating some Natto and washing it down with some sake and Sapparo beer chasers?
The one dish that caught my eye and stomach was the whole grilled squid. Nicely done! Not over cooked rubbery, nice char with great flavor! Next was the whole grilled mackerel, and some interesting interpretations of Maki rolls.
Very affordable! it's one of those places you go eat great food, get full, and still have money left over for some extra beers! Definitely one of those places you would go back again and again!

The the Asian/Hawaiian theme, the food is on par with many of the places I've been to, without the stuffiness of a white table cloth place.
This is only for Happy Hour, so I can't really say very much for the al la cart portion of the menu. Great deals on the drinks and food. What I usually get is the sake bombs for 6.50 and some maki rolls for 3 bucks. For a dollar more, the beef sliders and tacos is pretty good for that price! The only thing I probably wouldn't get again is the calamari, just a bit too soggy and bland for my taste.
The vibe is pretty good, with a mixture of professionals and blue collar working stiffs like me.
The service is good, but like many busy places, it can get a little slow during prime time, i.e. 7-9pm. But how can you complain when the value of the food and drink prices are this good?
