Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine

Go here if you are in the area (or want to purchase a flavor they do not sell online)  but I would not suggest going out of your way to get here, as the "tour" is just looking in on the moonshine pro cess through a screened wall. There are some signs to describe the process, but if the place is even a tiny bit crowded, you will probably have the same experience as I did: some dude standing slack-jawed right in front of the sign, not moving, while he stares at the open vats of fermenting booze.

It wasn't too crowded for us to taste though and we got to try all 7 of their flavors! A "thimble full" is MORE than enough of each flavor to taste, I am not sure why other reviewers have complained, as any more and they will be getting people drunk left and right!

The apple pie is the best flavor, hands down, with the peach running a close second.

Oh, and I thought this might be the ONE place in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area that was not completely full of kids, but I was wrong. There were even kids in line for the tasting, though of course they were not served!

This is a great local favorite - the service is always good. Definitely go here for a burger and a beer! The other menu items are also great, but Stone's makes my favorite burger hands down. The Asian Pear and Smoked Cheddar salad is also a favorite and large enough to call a meal if you are looking for something on the lighter side.

Brunch is served from 11-3 on sundays, buffet style, and is really excellent along with being a really good value.

They also have a mixed drink menu, you have to ask for it, definitely reccomend checking it out if that's your thing.

My husband and I had a super fun time ziplining here while visiting the area on vacation. We picked this place because of a two-for-one coupon we had from our resort and I am SO glad we did.

There were 5 zip lines, each one a bit longer than the other until the 4th, which the guides mentioned was the longest/fastest line on the east coast.... SO fun!!

I dont like writing bad reviews, but my experience here was not the best and I would not go back or reccomend it:

-I had to ask the waitress three separate times for a glass of water. She actually brought water to another table between requests two and three, and brought me a second beer before I had to ask for water the third time. I was very thirsty otherwise I would have given up asking.

-I was served the most disgusting ceaser salad ever. I am not exaggerating at all here. I actually cant believe that someone plated it and served it to anyone: the lettuce and crutons looked like they had been dressed in their "homemade" dressing for a day or more (I figured if they took the time to make a homemade salad dressing, the salad shoukd be ok). All of the lettuce was limp and dark around the edges, the crutons were soft. The chicken on top was ok, but cold.

-The cedar plank brie was ok but not really hot at all, which really took away from the whole point of ordering a warm brie to smear over bread (which was just wheat sandwich bread, kind of strange).

-My husband had a burger which he enjoyed, so that was basically the saving grace that kept me from actually complaining while we were there.

-they had only corona light in bottles, no other beer on tap or in bottles left.

I feel like we got crappy food and not-great-service because it was a monday after a busy weekend. Its a reason, but not an excuse, because if you cant serve the same good food on monday after a busy weekend that you do on friday, then close down on monday, dont stay open with low stock and serve paying customers a salad that a homeless person might even turn down.

A++++++ for all of the incredible sauces (all hotttttt!) and mustards. There are many other items, dry rubs and stuff, haven't tried them yet, but I hear they are also great.
A+++++++ for dr gonzo himself, which is why visiting his store in worcester is a must. If you get him to play a song on the piano then you are getting the full experience!

Had an early dinner here last night:
Very nice atmosphere. Love the giant bull statue outside!
The "wine based mixed drinks" are very strange - I can only assume that local alcohol laws limit the place to serving only beer or wine - they should stick to sangria and call it a day. I decided to be spontaneous and try the pina colada, but I could taste the wine and it was just weird.
The fried asparagus was excellent, perfectly done.
I had the fillet and it was cooked exactly as I ordered, but very salty... I could feel the slight crunch of salt crystals in each bite. My husband really enjoyed his rib-eye, which he mentioned was also cooked perfectly.
The white cheddar mashed potatoes were over cooked and gummy with an off taste, like they sat around in a fridge for a few days. Only ate one bite. Dont get them.
Overall, pretty good... Might go back, if for the fried asparagus alone, but would definitely try something other than steak OR ask them to go easy on the salt.

We have been taking our dog here for day care (2-3 times a week) and boarding (every few months, sometimes more often) for more than two years and she LOVES it there. The staff is great and they have always immediately let us know about any "issues" (ie: scuffles between our dog and other dogs) - I also really like that the staff seems to genuinely enjoy dogs and takes dog personalities into consideration.  Sometimes our dog likes hanging out with humans more than other dogs and they are always happy to have her hang out in the office and "do paperwork" with them!!

I love the report cards they send home with the dog with details about their day, who they played with and, if they ate, how well they ate.

Someone mentioned in a review that the staff is never reachable by phone or that you have to "keep calling": that could not be further from the truth. If you call and do not reach someone you can leave a voice mail - I have never waited more than an hour for a call back. I guess if you need up-to-the-minute contact about your dog 24/7 this isn't the place for you, but I have never had issues getting in touch with someone when I've needed to.

Firestone Complete Auto Care

I suggest staying away from this place, even for a simple oil change.

They get one star for having better hours than most other shops in the area - another for the pleasant people they have working in the front. They are always nice and explain stuff in detail.

That's about where the good stuff ends though.

Every appointment there takes hours longer than the amount of time they estimate for it. Even just an oil change takes for ever. They are also very good at up-selling you items that cost them nothing and but cost you more.

I do not trust this auto shop after my last oil change there. They didn't fill up my washer fluid, which had been empty, and this leads me to believe they didn't check any fluid levels at all.

Also, they didn't put enough oil back in the car! My car has not burned through oil in the past, so the level wasn't something I checked between oil changes (believe me, I've learned my lesson!). Shortly after this last oil change I wound up having pretty much no oil in there at all... the only way this could have happened is if they shorted me oil.

I say stay away from this place.

We were part of a group of 24 people having dinner on a busy Saturday night. The wait staff was very good and they somehow got us all served at about the same time. The food was very good and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I had the pepper fettuccine with the half tomato -half alfredo sauce, it was very good. I'm not a gorgonzola fan, but everyone else raved about the gorgonzola bread.

One downside is that they have beer and wine only. I happened to be in the mood for a cocktail that evening, but did enjoy having wine with my dinner!

There is no better word to describe this place than: fantastic!
Excellent beer list - both tap and bottled beer.

Fantastic, creative, tasty cocktail list that changes often.

Fantastic cheese slates. They are on the expensive side, but sized for four people to easily share either before or after dinner, or just while having drinks.

Fantastic locally sourced food. Not much more to say other than every single thing I've eaten here has been incredibly good. They do the comfort food well, always important at this kind of place, but they also offer up other unique fare that never disappoints.

Brunch is, of course, also fantastic. It's one of my favorite meals there.

Fantastic atmosphere. Comfortable and dark, without being too dark or dingy. It does get very, very crowded on weekend nights.

My favorite time to go is right when they open at 11 for brunch, this way you know you'll get a seat!
