Montrose Harbor is not equipped for hosting a race of this size, and it was irresponsible of RAM Racing to do so. This was, without a doubt, one of the most poorly organized -- and dangerous -- racing events I've ever experienced. I blogged additional thoughts here:

We went here today -- $1 to pick apple and all-you-can-eat when in the orchard. The trees were packed with apples, and we were more than happy with the selection and quality of the apples. It's was a nice, relaxing Sunday activity.
The gift store leaves a little to be desired, but overall, it's a lovely orchard.

My friend had her birthday party there tonight, and I loved every minute of it. I had no idea what to expect, and was a little surprised to find that I was entering someone's house...
...But a few minutes later there was a couple dancing tango. And then a cute guy and a girl came shimmying down the steps to dance in head dress and spangles - carnival style. They made a nice speech in honor of MLK Jr. (tomorrow is MLK Jr Day).
And then we were ushered downstairs for the buffet-style dinner, which was excellent. Really - a great, and highly unique, little establishment, run by people who really seem to have passion for creating a great experience for you and your friends.

Perfection. We had to make a 7:30 curtain for the opera, and the staff totally made the evening as relaxing as possible - including calling us a cab to ensure we could make it to the Lyric on time.
The food was amazing - particularly the potato leek soup and the lamb. Another person in our party had the lobster risotto, and she said that was exquisite, too.
The interior is calm and modern. Each table felt private.
Probably one of the best dining experiences I've had in Chicago. My only concern is that it's a little off the beaten path - not sure how easy it is to access from CTA. They offer Valet ($7) and can call a cab for you, as I mentioned.

This morning, I noticed that my steering wheel would shake when I accelerated over 40 mph. Convinced it was the alignment, I took it here at the last minute. Ken took a look at it right away, and identified the problem as ice buildup in my wheel rim. He fixed it and I was on the road in 20 min - and he didn't charge me a penny. I HIGHLY recommend Suburban Auto.

My partner was offered a free night here, which we spent this weekend. Overall, our stay was fine. But nothing exceptional. Our room was oddly arranged, with the TV facing the desk and the chairs facing the bed and nothing facing the view. The chairs were highly uncomfortable, too. Also, $13 for a small pot of coffee in your room? LAME. I found the lobby rather ugly.
It was nice to stay here, but I won't recommend it.

My experience here was average - nothing exceptional. The food was fine - the service adequate. The cashew-encrusted talapia was decent, but the sides were disappointing. For dessert I chose the chocolate fudge dome cake. The cake part was dry.

Yikes.
I went here a few years ago, and I must have been way way drunk, becuase I remember having a good time.
I went again this weekend, and it was like being at a frat mixed with about 10 bachelorette parties, complete with a sticky, plastic cup-strewn dance floor, over-processed 30-something women desperately lifting their skirts up while dancing on the bar (and making out with each other), and a girl or two puking in the corner. Oh, let's not forget the creepy audience of guys (wearing the standard button-down, striped shirt and jeans) oogling the desperation from one side of the dance floor.

As mentioned in previous reviews, this place is highly unexpected, small, a bit of a fire hazard and low-key. Very low-key.
The drinks are strong and cheap, and the bartender is nice. Went here around 11 on saturday, and it was pretty packed (around 20 people - indicating the size of the place). I would go again if I ever find myself in the loop.
