My wife and I have been taking our cats to Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic since they were kittens-- ten years now, under Dr. Pitstick and now Dr. Sawyer. They have always been friendly and patient and willing to go into as much technical detail as we ask; when our younger Maine Coon, Yeti, has had issues with constipation, Dr. Sawyer has been very supportive of experimenting with diet adjustments before we try medication.
A nice little restaurant on South Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale. The service is variable, but the tasty food is consistent. A fairly broad menu for such a small restaurant, including even cajun cuisine.
A great place to appreciate the ethnic fusion that is Hawaiian cuisine; where else can you find Spam and sashimi on the same menu? The portions are impressively large; my wife and I will usually be full from splitting an appetizer sampler ("pupu platter") and a single loco moco. Prompt service and tasty food.

I've been pleased with the service at Toyota Sunnyvale since I got my Prius there in 2005. It took a little while for the salesman I was working with to figure out to hand me off to the guy who kept Consumer Reports printouts in his desk, and everything went smoothly from there. The service department doesn't even need me to make appointments to get regular maintenance: I just show up, hand them the prepaid coupon I got when I bought the car (even though said coupons are technically expired, they honor the in-house ones), and sit down to read in the waiting area for a couple of hours. The only service problem I had was when I had run my car's 12V battery into the ground and their tests were unable to figure this out, even though I pointed them toward the problem; I had to put up with the car being unreliable for another couple of months before the small battery finally gave up the ghost. Once they replaced it, the car was fine.
A highly competent massage therapist who makes calls to home or office. Ray can figure out all manner of subtleties with tired and injured muscles, and has a calming demeanor that helps to banish stress. (He's also quite versatile: I've seen him working at gaming conventions with services listed as various high-grade healing spells straight out of Dungeons and Dragons.)
A nice little sushi boat place with reasonable prices. Service is prompt, the food is reasonable. A good place to go if you just need to grab a quick bite; there are better restaurants in the area if you're looking for a real dinner.

A good steakhouse with an unusual way of dealing with the high demand for their wares: you go in, order your entree (from a fairly short list on the board on the wall), and your group is seated when the food is almost ready, just in time for the salad. This is all about the entree: you get salad and garlic bread and a potato, standard. If this is the sort of thing you like, you will like this very well indeed. I had the teriyaki steak and was well pleased.

A variety of drinks: hot or cold tea, milk tea, and "icy" drinks (shaved ice drinks like icees, slurpees, etc.), available with or without tapioca "pearls". (They also have a few Chinese appetizers, and share the building with a Popeye's.) I like the honey green tea, iced, and my wife adores the passionfruit icy.
The cups they use are a bit fragile; don't insert a straw until you've carried them wherever you plan to drink them, or you may wind up with your mere grip compressing the cup and spilling the drink onto your hand. (They are thoughtful enough to use a complete plastic-wrap seal on the cup, not a mere lid, so it won't spill until you pierce it.)

Really good burgers, tasty fries, breakfast served all day, scary restrooms. The chili is pleasantly spiced though not that hot. If I'm in the area, this is where I stop for a burger.

Lesli has been my optometrist since 1981; she is a professional who genuinely loves what she does, and will look for signs of health that show up in your eyes while she's figuring out details of visual correction and contact lens fit. She was able to figure out that my wife's vertigo problems were caused by a need for prism correction (which had never occurred to any regular doctors).
The office is usually pretty busy and doesn't move fast; allot a couple of hours for your appointment.
