We were very excited to try this place. The facade is nice, and even the inside is well-done. It's a massive building, but that's understandable considering they have a tasting room, bar and restaurant.
The food and service was about the worst I've had since moving back to Indy in 2012. This is independent of its high price tag, but coupled with that, this was the worst restaurant I've been to in Indy. We started with chicken lettuce wraps--a mistake. The lettuce is completely incapable of wrapping anything and the chicken honestly looked like it was just shredded from a rotisserie chicken you get at Kroger. The sauces were awful and overly sweet.
Both our entrees were awful. The fish had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for a while as it was completely soggy. But my pork tenderloin was just miserable. It was drowned in a sauce that tasted a notch below a bottled sauce you can get at Trader Joes and the pork was overcooked. I asked the server and she informed me they slice the tenderloin then sautee them. Maybe I'm unaware of that technique for pork, but that's just seems wrong. The wasabe mashed potatoes had potential but they were cold and heavy.
Overall, it just feels like they either can't handle the volume in their kitchen (hence, the awful shortcut cooking techniques they're using), or they simply have an inept chef (or both). Even if those were both fixed, their menu is far too large to every produce good food.
I will probably go to the winery with friends at some point but will never eat here again.
