Daphne's Greek Cafe

This not a place I would regularly go to but I went with a group. As I was there I decided to try the pita burger with its enticing picture, as if there is anything I like as much as noodle dishes it is burgers.
If a place has good food I don't care how bad the service is but Daphne's did not earn that privilege. Maybe they were understaffed that night or were in training but the cashiers were slow and I saw them frequently forget to give people their cups and other stuff yet seemed impatient.
Maybe I should have tried a more traditional Greek dish but other than having pita bread instead of buns the burger wasn't special. Mind you it was not bad but I had expected more. I ended up enjoying the fries even more than the burger.

If I would have thought about it I probably would not have eaten anything from here. Getting a taco from a truck may be okay but raw fish? Fortunately it was night time and I was having a good time so I did not miss a great place. I tried two sets -the crunchy roll and the spicy. Out of the two I preferred the crunchy though the spicy wasn't bad. Apparently the chefs are pretty nice too because the 3rd time we went back we got a free tasty roll that was not on the menu.

I actually went here a while ago. I walked down to it with a relative who recommended to me after watching a movie at the theater on Culver Blvd. I had either the grande or supreme shrimp burrito but do remember which. I do remember it being delicious and very filling however.

As the name suggests; I would recommend this place for people who like burgers. With extensive options available the menu allows you to definitely customize your burger from the size of the patty, the spread, to the toppings and cheese. Unluckily my first time here I was not very hungry so failed to use my full imagination in creating my meal. I can say that the meat tasted fresh and the spread was better than expected. I will have to go back just to experiment with their menu.
Another item I have tried here that was enjoyable was their huevos rancherous do la sol. I was surprised to find that their sauce or meat had a little spice however it did not take away from the dish only added to it. I find that I will have to experiment with their breakfast menu more making this a another place to come back to.

I first noticed this place while I was walking to the car after picking up some food from Pollo de Brasero. To be honest it seemed promising just for the fact that it had an A from the health department while the food places around it didn't. However it was the smell drifting out the door that made me realize I would definitly try it one day.
Of the dishes that I tasted I really liked the sandwich and stew (don't remember what the name was). The half of chicken (don't remember what they called it) I could have taken or leave it, was not the greatest but wasn't bad either. I do plan on making a return visit again.

This place has quite a few tasty dishes. I would recomend everyone who likes to try something a bit different to come here. And for people who like fish to try my favorite dish from here, the roasted stuffed fish. Man-oh-man that was good!
A little warning, you have to order about a half and hour earlier for fish dishes. However the fish is not the only dish I crave from this restaurant. There is also the curry goat, and oxtails which were surprisingly good.
A course if you don't want to be adventurous the jerk chicken and short ribs are not bad either.

A recent conversation with a friend about good pupusa places brought this place up. Always on the lookout for good pupusas, I decided I had to go. The next Tuesday I was there, walking into their room that held a cool breeze and warm colors. The people who work there were pretty nice, giving us free drinks while we waited and fortunately their smiles were not hiding unsatisfying foods.
I tried several varieties of their pupusas; Revueltas (cheese & pork), Chicharron (fried Pork), pollo, and camaron (shrimp). I would recommend all of them, though the two with pork did not seem to taste very different from each other.
Another dish I loved and definitely was the pastelitos which were crispy, flavorful and plain delicious. If you wanted to try another traditional dish I would recommend the fried plantains which are interestingly- served with beans and cream, a surprising condiment to me that tasted very good with the dish.
Another cool feature of this restaurant is they have a parking lot and
parking nearby.
*Plan for next trip: Revuelts con todo & Calabaza pupusas & the beef soup.

To be honest I'm not really a fan of most of these yogurt bars. Maybe it's because I still love ice cream.
Out of the yogurt bars though I prefer the setup of Cefiore and Pinkberry to Yogurtland.

The cool thing is that Yogurtland has good and interesting variety in yogurt flavors and toppings. However especially since it does not have a large space it gets crowded fast and quite a few of the interesting flavors seem almost pointless as I have no idea of what toppings would taste well with them.

Delicious? Yes definitely. I got a torta from here and almost inhaled it. The meat had flavor but still tasted like meat. (Now I want to try their beef tongue.) They also have a tasty horchata and another drink I did not try.
As they are just a stand you pretty much stand at the counter or take your food to go but I'm fine with that. The only issue I have with going back to the place is that being in the middle of downtown you can't find (free) parking but good news is it is near a bus stop.

Tri-ce

I have not gone to the location, I just recently tried one of the produces at the Koreatown Festival. From their card it seems they have two names: tri-ce and YeDang.
I was walking by their table and saw an onigiri. I am a big fan of onigiri's but this is my first time having one with Korean flavors. I bought the Korean bbq, Kimchi bbq, and chicken teriyaki which were tasty snacks. Their table had more than just the Korean onigiri that I think I would want to try somedayso I'll probably go to the bakery one day.
