Environment:
The owner changed things around the restaurant again. There is summer tee-shirt uniform. If you asked me, I did not like it. I like the old attire (all black outfit). There are more beach colors in the restaurant; is a good thing. The napkin is now a red and worn looking. What happened to the black pressed starched napkin? I like that way better.
Service:
Matt is my server today. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent.
Food:
It is still very good, I have my coffee and fish and chips today. There is no better and fresher fish and chip you can get on the East side.

I visited my favorite restaurant again for lunch today. My usual table was taken, so I settle for another table with great view as well.
When I arrived, I noticed the "Beach Cafe" signage looked different. Humm? I sat down and things look pretty much the same. So, I ordered my usual. Cool cool iced-tea, the unbeatable fish-n-chips (this is the only fish n chip in Seattle; will not required paper napkin to soak up the excess oil) and a plate of tasty seafood gumbo.
Ryan was my waiter during this visit. He is newer to the restaurant and provided me excellent service.
Anyway, my orders arrived.... My gumbo's portion looked much smaller compare to my usual order. With the forth soup spoonful, my gumbo is almost hitting the bottom of the plate. Did I mention, the seafood gumbo is about $19.00 a plate before tax and tips? I talked to Ryan to inquire about the portion issue and what was the latest change. Ryan talked the manager. The manager stated that there is not a portion or price change at Beach Cafe after the took over by the Woodmark hotel. ???? Huh? Take over? Obviously, the portion is much smaller because I had this dish so many time at this restaurant.
The manager ended up to compensate me with a little more gumbo. I thanked Ryan and the manager. From now on, I know that I will stick with my fish and chips for good.
All in all, the view and service are still good, the food is good as well. It is just very hard for me to swallow my $19 for maybe six spoonful of gumbo. If that is how they are going to do business, I will order accordingly because I knew better the next time.
As of this point, I am still a fan.
Note: See my pictures for the small portion. -

This is my favorite restaurant. I like to go there in the late morning or afternoon for a quiet meal with the great water view. Almost every table in the restaurant has a great view of Lk Wa. Food is always food. Recently, they change the chef. It;s not as good as before but it's acceptable. Still my fav.

Good service

I loved the all-you-can-eat Geoduck. Even the geoduck is in a very small piece (fresh, sweet and crunchy) but just keep them coming and I am a happy clam!

I had lunch there for the first time. It was a Monday, so it was a market day. The menu depended on what's fresh in the market.
Reservation: We were on time but the table is still not ready right the way even the restaurant is not fully occupied.
Waitress: She is very polite but acted new, that's ok... it's a school after all.
Food: $15 three course meal (the 1st and 2nd course are good, but not the dessert - the desserts sweetness was overpowered by the ginger and the chocolate puff was boring and lack of texture)
Overall, it is ok. I will come back to try out the brunch and dinner again,
Note: Remember to make reservation each time.

Food:
The "famous" slider was boring and blend.
The coconut shrimp, tuna and c. salad are good dishes. All dishes are about $5, except the salad is only $2.75. All dishes are in generous portion.
Service: Excellent
Environment: Lounge area is ok, nothing fancy. Oh, it was really dark.
Overall, it is a ok.
