It's so awesome the owners respond... like that, like that, love that.
Very good:
-french fries with ranch dill sauce
-high end juice cocktails
-watching the sunset on the patio
-beer
-burgers
-grilled broccoli
Needs improvement:
-fried fish comes out rubbery when it should be crisp like the chicken strips. I recommend the chicken strips over fried fish.
-soup is not healthy when loaded with lots of salt and MSG and cheese. Take away the salt, MSG and cheese and it's bland soup. Restaurants just don't make chicken noodle or tomato like Mom did.
-sandwiches like a tuna melt or reuben are not healthy with all the salt and cheese and frying of the bread
-a $10 salad with a lot of cheese and bacon doesn't make the cut
How about a smoked salmon like Wink's wine bar, salads like Shady Grove, a solid fruit plate like Manuel's, a fried tempura vegetable basket with carrots, broccoli, mushrooms and sweet potatoes like at several sushi places, and grilled chicken plate like Paradise Lounge on 6th St. Maybe collard greens with malt vinegar would work.
Either way, I'll be back at Opal Divines for the stuff I love about it. -

What I would recommend everyone to try once is the french fries with dill ranch dipping sauce and the high end cocktails made with all natural fruit juice. Bonus points if you do it at sunset on the patio. Delicious!
Why not 4 stars? I like a place with some healthier options. I can't eat salty french fries everyday, no matter how delicious they are. Show owner comment »

1 Fiery General Tso's fried chicken and broccoli -- awesome
2 Pad Thai
3 Stir fry with the spring veggie mix
4 Noodle soups with spicy curry and coconut, although the coconut broth can be very rich and delicious it can pack a lot of calories.
5 Egg rolls
The other dishes... I can give or take. If I only rated the dishes above then this place would get 5 stars.

Best burgers ever. This is not a joke. As of 2 years ago they would bring in fresh, fresh, fresh ground beef, along with a premium bun, and the result was the best burger ever. Try it.
I'm no burger novice. I've lived in Chicago, California, Houston, and I've traveled all over the US and Europe. It truly has the best burger ever.

The pork drums deserve 5 stars. Best pork and pork ribs in Austin! The wings deserve 3 to 4 stars. I did not try the grilled chicken sandwich, but based on the reviews it is not the item to order.
