My favorite part - ask for a refill, get a gigantic mason jar filled with your choice of beverage.  As a soda addict, it was heaven.  By the way, shakes are free refills to (crazy!)

Ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and brisket were good...and unlimited.  Liked the potatoes as well.

They have that sassy service vibe going on (DIsney seems to like this theme).  Also be prepared for a wait, even with a reservation we were waiting for quite a while.

Thoroughly satisfied from beginning to end...the best all you can eat I had at Disney.

Appetizers included coconut bread, salad with a refreshing lime vinaigrette, gyoza that were actually pretty tasty (probably because they were deep fried), chicken wings with a tangy asian inspired sauce.

Meat - my fav were the steak and shrimp (although dang those shells on the shrimp, so annoying to get my hands all sticky), but they also had chicken and pork.

Sides - a very tasty chow mein noodle dish and broccoli

Dessert - heavenly bread pudding.  I was so stuffed but still ate two servings.

Reservations need to be made way in advance, but it's well worth it!

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

My 1300 review goes to the amazing Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend offers a 5K, 1/2 Marathon, Full Marathon, and the infamous Goofy Challenge = 1/2 Marathon + Full Marathon.  I'm one of those crazy suckers that signed up for the Goofy.  Numerous times during the weekend I wondered, what was I thinking?! (My feet were definitely complaining to me after)

The only other runs I've done have been the 1/2 Marathons at Disneyland, so naturally I was comparing the two throughout the weekend.  Just as with Disneyland, they have these events organized to a tee...the course is easy to identify and they have plenty of cast members and volunteers working, everything flowed well from start to finish.  In addition, what Disney World has going for them is that they offer the full marathon and goofy challenges allowing you to run through all four parks, and believe me, that change of scenery is nice on a long run.

On the flip side, the walk to the start line is kind of lengthy, especially at 4 or 5 in the morning in the freezing cold.  And there are a lot of portions of the race where the course path gets really narrow...did not like running in the grass to pass people (I'm not as steady on my feet so I always fear spraining my ankle).  I also felt that Disneyland had more cheerleaders and bands along their course, which always kept me pumped up.

Whether you're an avid runner, or especially if you're thinking about getting into running, Disney runs are always the best to start with...they are all super fun!

Excellent in terms of convenience (stayed at Old Key West) and loved that they had a special for marathon runners (a hearty pasta dish) on Marathon Weekend.

Their coconut pineapple bread is super delicious, especially when warm (and I don't really like coconut).  I had their shrimp and grits that was really rich and delicious.  I couldn't stop eating it...but had to because, yeah, it was really rich.  Felt sad when I stopped though.

Service was friendly and welcoming.

One of my favorites, if not my favorite park at Disney World.  The safari/nature/zoo theme with Disney influences make it a unique experience.

Highlights
- Animals on the safari
-Everest coaster
- Lion King show
- Finding Nemo Musical

The tree of life on the river is a sight to see.  It was gorgeous to run through during the marathon!

This coaster is really a lot of fun.  Fast paced, cool story, smooth ride.  Twists and turns that surprise and thrill!  Definitely a good pumped up version of the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland.

Used a Travelzoo deal ($69 for a prix fixe meal for two including a half bottle of wine or champagne).  Couldn't have been more pleased with the food, service, and ambiance.

You can't really beat an sunset view of the ocean in Del Mar.  Modern, clean decor, it was nice.

They served bread with butter and flavored salts that I thought were an interesting concept (although the flavoring was really subtle...).  Regular, garlic, tapatio, and yuzu.

Appetizers - a salad with arugula, pear, pomegranate, pistachio (man, I love pistachios, they should be in salads more often) - very refreshing and delicious. a butternut squash soup with marshmallow - yea sounds weird, but it was really tasty, and I'm not much of a fan of butternut squash.

Entree - flat iron steak - tender and delicious, tasty soy based sauce.  fish of the day (I believe it was mahi mahi) was really nice, only complain the portion was a little bit small.

Desserts - Chocolate bar with crunch inside.  Really good, but a little difficult to eat.  We also had another dessert with some kind of custard that was really good.

Great experience!

Um, SO AWESOME.

It would be a shame if you missed this show.  It really is a great production.  The music, the costumes, and the props were all so impressive.  You are really transported under the sea, and you'll find yourself humming the songs long after you've left the theater.

Get there 30-45 mins early to stand in line.  I wish I could see it again!

Good
- Dipping sauce for their gyoza - it's really good.  Special recipe by one of their chefs.
- Japanese soft drinks
- Friendly service
- Condiments in the ramen - kamaboko, bean sprouts, some spicy string things

Bad
- The broth - just wasn't a fan.  I've had a lot of ramen being from Socal, and I prefer something more hearty and rich.  It just seemed a bit bland and watered down.

The people at Tao seem dedicated to quality and personable service so I think it'll be successful, especially since there aren't many ramen places in the area.  Plus, they also offer burgers and American breakfast so there are options for everyone.
