i had the wedgie, which had fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, blue cheese piled high in a most delicious biscuit.
i almost died.

they are a:
chain of bars, brewpubs, music venues, microbreweries, cafe's, hotels and theaters that have been renovated from often-times outdated/dilapidated/abandoned beginnings. some of the establishments were old theaters, churches, even schools. all in all, mcmenamins are a little of everything, and totally fun!
note: i realize oregonians have a love-hate relationship with these places, but i would love to see this idea replicated in oakland. they help create a local economy, while being green and lively. yay for mcmenamins!
