What a great addition to the Las Vegas Valley.

Small but great! Picked up some scrumptious fresh hummus and fresh whole wheat pitas.  Got samples from several vendors.

Several options for on site eating with some booths and some food trucks.

Bring cash and don't be surprised if you spend it all.  Farmer's market fare adds up quick!

Elevation Burger

I'd put elevation burger right on par with in n' out burger.

The burger itself is tasty - I liked the meat.  I especially appreciate that you order it just how you'd like it - no mystery toppings - you get what you ask for.

I had a kid burger, which is code for one burger patty.  The standard elevation burger is a double.  There is a list of about 20 topping to choose from but some key choices are missing.  Um, hello??? Where's the BACON??? No avocado or mushrooms either??? These are some big players - and they aren't even on the team!

The fries were tasty but need to be consumed immediately on the premise - they would not travel well.  An order of fries is good to share.

I had a vanilla shake with fresh mangoes.  I couldn't taste the mango at all, which was strange because they were very obviously blended in there!  My mom was thrilled with her 1/2 coffee 1/2 chocolate malt.

All in all - A -OK burger place that makes it fresh to order how you want it.  I'll go again.

The downside is the calories are displayed next to everything.  It really hurts your feeling when you have to see that the cheeseburger, fries and shake you are about to consume are a whopping 1500 kals.  Boo!

They do have the fancy digital soda machine like 5 guys that allows you to choose from hundreds of sodas like peach sprite zero, and vanilla mr. pibb.

4 burgers, 1 fries, 2 shakes, 2 sodas = $37

Oh boy - how this pains me! I am bachi burger lover....I gave the other location 5 stars!

Well the new location just doesn't have it together yet.  I've been twice.  On the first visit we didn't have any problems.  We tried the Myagi-san?? Grassfed beef burger.  It was delicious.

Our last visit was such a mess that it would leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth.  I was disappointing because we had a first timer along and I had been raving...needless to say, she wasn't impressed.

Both times I've been they have switched servers on us mid-meal.  This seems to cause a little too much confusion.  Our edamame took 30 minutes.  That is just a wee excessive for edamame.  We ordered tea, never got it, but were still charged for it.  My hubby didn't get peppers on his burger so they said they would get him some - everyone finished eating and his burger was cold and still no peppers.  They never even ordered them.  Just one thing after another,  It was frustrating.

The food was still great.  I tried the chili chicken app, it was lightly breaded and flavorful.  I also tried the toasted marshmallow and salted caramel milkshake - very tasty!

I won't give up on bachi burger but they need to get it together over there!  At this point I'd probably drive the 25 miles across town to ensure a good experience.

Hubs and I stopped in for lunch because we had a buy one get one free coupon.   I opted for the french dip while he went with the steak sandwich.  Service was nice.  Fries were piping hot and excellent.  Sandwich was A-OK.  I would have preferred a crustier bread for dipping.  Really, not much more you could ask for from a casual bar lunch.  It was good.  No complaints.

Breakfast sustenance for the weary traveler.  We scooted in just before the 11:00 deadline.  All three of us got corned beef hash because it was the good canned stuff - just how we like it.  Eggs were cooked nicely and portions were gargantuan!

Very casual little diner with attentive and nice service.  Breakfast is A-OK! Lots of bang for your buck.  We sampled pancakes as well.  The butter was a winner.  Whipped up and super spreadable.

I'd go back to fill my belly for another car ride.

Needed an ice cream fix at 9:00 pm the other night.  We screeched in just minutes before closing and we were still served with a smile.

All four of us got a small ice cream with a mix in for $9.  Crazy! Is this a joke? Shhhhh! Do not tell the owners....they could definitely increase their prices.  Way less than expected.

I had butter pecan with health bars mixed in while hubby chose white chocolate with raspberries.  Both were delightful.

They packaged our treats neatly with lids in a to go bag so we could enjoy them at home on the couch. Score!

Delicious ice cream at an unbeatable price.

Wahoos would be a good spot for cheap drinks and socializing but do not come for the food.  It is very dissapointing.

The chips, salsa and guac were A-OK.  Everything else - MEH.

The prices are reasonable, especially for alcohol.  On this particular day, wine was 1/2 off so you could get a glass for $2.50.  Pacificos were $1-$2.

I ordered the Baja-ladas (essentially a spin on enchiladas).  When I think of enchiladas, I salivate in anticipation for something piping hot with molten cheese and flavorful sauce.  I got a cold chicken wrap topped with luke warm sauce, filled with raw spinach.  Big boo.  Literally, the inside was cold, and raw.  Not good.  The rice and beans lacked pizazz as well.  All in all, a dissapointment.

Hubby got fish tacos.  They were OK at best.  Certainly nothing to name a restaurant after.

The service was very nice and friendly; alas, we won't return.

Well, me and hubs were pleasantly surprised.  Needed something quick and hearty at 10 pm in the South Point.  We opted for the counter at the oyster bar.

After great debate.....gumbo? linguine and clams? We landed on calamari and clam chowder.

My New England clam chowder was filling, creamy, buttery and well seasoned.  My husband was less impressed with his Manhattan clam chowder but said it was good.  The calamari was flavorful and cooked near perfection - just slightly over.

The service was very nice, friendly and efficient.  We were full and happy within 20 - 25 minutes.

The prices are a bit high.  Chowders are $8 per bowl and calamari was $12.  Entrees range from $19 - $27 for gumbo, pasta, fra diavlo and such.

All in all, a very nice dinind expereince.  Little to nothing to complain about.  Warm chewy rolls with soft butter served too! A definite plus!

We would go back.

Spa at Green Valley Ranch Resort

Just went to the spa for this second time.....already plotting my return.

Let's start by saying GVR spa hasn't won best of Las Vegas 4 years in a row for no reason!  This spa is spectacular.  The amenities include:

- a plush robe and comfy rubber slippers for your spa attire
- hot tea, bottled water, cucumber and lemon water, fresh fruit, granola, pretzels
- all the latest mags for your reading pleasure
- razors, hairnets, q-tips, blow dryers, curling irons, toothbrushes, lotion, mouthwash....
- personal locker
- amazing rain showers with yummy smelling products like shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and shaving cream
- 3 jacuzzis
-eucalyptus steam room
- private outdoor pool with lounging options galore
- fitness center

The service is top notch.  There are loads of spa persons running around stocking clan towels and cold waters and so on.  They are so nice and friendly.

On my first visit, I got a facial, and on my last, a pedicure.  My girlfriend got a massage and claimed it was the best she's ever had.

BEST NEWS: 30% off for locals on weekdays and 20% off on weekends.  Massage ended up being ninety something.  Thats essentially the same price as a quickie massage place that does NOT include all the other fabulous amenities.  We spent about 4 hours in the spa enjoying all of the offerings.  I recommend going at least 2 hours before your treatment to take advantage and lounge and wander.

I cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon with a girlfriend and leave feeling like a princess.   The spa smells amazing and calms you right from the entrance. With the locals discount, the prices are reasonable for what's included.  You must go!

Note to all men: purchase a spa treatment for the lady in your life here at the GVR!

Aranya Thai Bistro

Aranya is ok.  The lunch special offers about 10 or 15 choices including several curries, pad thai, and kung pao, or cashew nut to name a few.  It is $8 for chicken and includes a soda.

This is a little pricier than other lunch specials and frankly, not as good.  I've definitely experienced better Thai food for a better price.

That said, it is a cute place, with nice service.
