Just announced that Urban Eats is becoming "Seattle Restaurant Week"
Here's what Nancy says: "When Seattle Restaurant Week kicks off April 18-29, more than 100 participating King County restaurants will offer three-course dinners for $25 Sundays through Thursdays. Some will also add a $15 three-course lunch. " -

Urban Eats 2009 (part deux) - October 1st to 29th
Let the madness begin! It's that time again...3 courses for $30. Starts Thursday, October 1st and ends Thursday, October 29th.
It's only available Sundays through Thursdays (no Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays). Check with each restaurant for details.

-2 for her taste buds
Let me say this: I do read Ms. Leson's columns regularly. However, I'm sorry to report but the majority of her recommendations on Asian eats to me (and my friends) are horrible. I do appreciate the info she reports on regarding what's going on in the local restaurant biz. I rely on Yelp for the true food reviews!

Great little club on Juanita Drive. They even have 2 Zumba classes. It got a complete make-over a bit over a year ago.
Believe it or not airport security is significantly a better experience. Here's to hoping that they replace them with TSA!!!

Yeah, I had the similar experience with the same employee as Brooke. Low and behold, he's the Branch manager, a super arrogant individual. He scolded me like I was a naughty (and stupid) child.

Very good assortment of pastries, juices, fruit, cold cuts. Hot dishes include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (both pork and veal), soft boiled eggs, beans, and miso soup.
Servers need to be trained about hygiene. They will clear a table of dirty dishes then immediately place new dishes and silverware on the table. They touch the clean rims of glasses and cups, very unsanitary. Management doesn't care when you point it out to them.

Funny black dust on the paper table cover. It's not pepper.
Ordered their onion soup, which is only available at dinner. Tasted like it was from a dry soup mix. They put two tiny pieces of baguette with a bit of cheese, which they melted. Entrees were nothing special. Bread was somewhat dry.

I had a ham, cheese, mushroom, egg buckwheat crepe. Followed by a chocolate crepe for dessert.
My friend had the lox salmon buckwheat crepe. And an apple crepe for dessert.
Good food. It's surrounded by other creperies but this is graced with its own grouchy french waiter. Makes your meal memorable.

Salad is so petite that you finish it in 2 bites.
Korean side dishes are spicy pickled cucumber (tiny amount) and sea weed salad.
The fried dumplings were good as well as the chicken nugget.
However, their bi bim bap is pitiful. It is served in a nice hot stone bowl. You get a nice fried egg. The rest of the ingredients (e.g. beef, spinach, bean sprout) are microscopic. They don't even give you the standard spicy cabbage kim chee.
Sorry, I recommend everyone avoid this restaurant.

In April, part of the kitchen staff was let go. The food became sub-standard. The food portions became tiny, tINy, TINY. And now 3 months later, it's closed.
I guess that it's a good thing!
