Melt Gelato & Crepe Cafe

I came back for lunch and found out a few new things about this place.

First of all the crepes are super soft and perfectly made -- I found out that they use whole ingredients to make everything here and chop everything fresh as much as they can (obviously, as long as they are not overly busy) and they don't use butter in their crepes which is huge to me.

Whoever complained about their smoothies is silly... the small was a perfect size and they don't add any milk or other cream to the drink. I had the Pineapple Paradise which was Pineapple Banana and Coconut. It was delicious and fresh. I will definitely stop by the next time I need a smoothie fix.

Also, they have a special on the weekends where you can get any of their crepes and a juice or coffee for just $6!! That is a great deal. I think I will be bringing my hubby here this weekend :)

I have always wandered past this place assuming all they had was gelato! My mom invited me to lunch here and it was a happy surprise. We both got a crepe with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado and cheese. It was the perfect portion and so fresh. I certainly will be back since it is close to my office and I'd say $6.50 for a meal is perfectly fine. It is located on the peaceful end of the town center so we ate outside under the trees.

My mom and I also shared a cup of gelato. They had many options to choose from. I was between the Coconut Fudge and the Banana Caramel Pecan. We went with the latter and it was delicious! Next time I will try out the Coconut Fudge!

Yummy, yummy! We enjoyed the crepes we got here but I was quite disappointed with my Nutella Mocha. It tasted like a bitter cup of coffee and we had to ask for sugar just to make it drinkable. Other than that, it was delicious.

As far as pricing goes, that is why we would probably not return. $9 for one crepe is a bit much and we both had to share 3 crepes to get our fill. Three crepes and two mochas were around $35! If I am going to spend that on crepes, I prefer to sit in a nice restaurant, not a food court.

Sliders Bar and Grill

We enjoyed our meal at Sliders. Though  it didnt knock our socks off and it wont be something we are craving in the future. The concept is great and the flavor of the sliders that we all tried were yummy but we all agreed that the presentation let us down. We wanted to be wowed by the sliders but they looked just like everyone else's sliders.

I got the Lil Buffalo and the Lil Smokey -- the latter had grilled onions and bacon on it but when it came out, both were chopped up into tiny pieces and the flavor lacked. My hope was to have a bacon flavor but I honestly didnt taste it.  The hubby enjoyed his deep fried hot dog and the Lil Philly which I think was the most bang for your buck.

Maybe if prices go down or the flavor and presentation go up, we will stop by again.

This aquarium is one of the best! The hubs and I have been to plenty of aquariums but we always will have a special place in our hearts for the Aquarium of the Pacific!

The only con is if you come on weekends and there are a million people (and children) because it is tough to enjoy and actually leisurely view the beautiful settings and sea life. Most of the time this can't be avoided because it is a tourist attraction but considering that is the only con, I'd say that is pretty good!

I guess $25 a person isn't bad considering the upkeep they have to put into the aquariums, I only dislike the price because I am generally cheap. But in the end, totally worth it because their exhibits are always beautiful and educational. Today we got to pet a jelly fish!

Yard House never fails me. This  was our first time at this location and it is a beautiful spot off of a marina near the aquarium... perfectly placed for sunset dining! We were here on a Sunday right at 6pm and were seated in about 20 minutes which is awesome! And when we asked if we could get a new table because the one they gave us, right near the bar, was ridiculously loud, the waitress gladly did so. Everyone working there seemed so happy and fun loving.

We always get the truffle fries which never ever fail but we also grabbed some sweet potato fries that were also amazing. My margarita pizza was huge and delicious, as was the Parmesan Crusted Chicken in a mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes, wow!

The hubs always goes for the Sam Adam's cherry wheat beer, so I suppose I should recommend that here. He only found out about it because we had the beer sampler the first time we came to Yard House. Great deal and great selections each time (according to the hubs). Highly recommend Yard House!

Actually, I would give them 3.5 stars if I could. It was good -- food was good, service was good, prices were good. Nothing really stood out to us though. There is a huge variety of choices on the menu, including pasta, pizza, wraps, sushi, ribs and so much more; it took forever to decide and the hubs and I do want to go back to try a couple of things. Pricing was good/normal for all of the dishes that were not fish or steak, so that was nice, but even the fish dishes didn't sound that amazing for the pricing. We felt that we would be more willing to spend that kind of money on a nice fish/steak dish at a nicer restaurant. This place has more of a Red Robin's atmosphere with dimmed lights for ambience -- too loud for us to hear each other talk sometimes and that is big for me, I enjoy a good conversation.

I had the Salmon Sushi roll and it was just okay; nothing extra special about it even though it came drizzled in white wine sauce (that didn't make a difference in flavor). Also, the salmon on top was not generous by any means and didn't taste as fresh as I would normally get at a sushi restaurant -- I don't recommend it if you  are a sushi lover. The hubs got Coconut Shrimp with Pina Colada sauce and Thrasher Shark with cheesy potatoes. He enjoyed it but wasn't excited about it. The shrimp was probably the best, but again, small pieces of shrimp.

By the way, I do not recommend getting a side salad with your meal unless you feel like paying $6!!! It was a good size salad, but I certainly wasn't expecting to pay that much for lettuce and dressing!

We  came here for dinner on a Saturday night right at dinner time. There was no wait for outdoor seating and we loved the atmosphere. The meal was great, service was great and all in all a fun evening. The atmosphere of the pier is so much fun!

The hubs loved his Blackened Salmon and I enjoyed the Korean BBQ Chicken. The only weird part was that they have only one type of Sangria... You would think that having a restaurant named Sangria there would at least be several types of delicious sangria!

This place has the most comfortable beds EVER! I love staying here and will return anytime we are in Anaheim and need a to stay over night.

We had an incident while we stayed here last... went to bed at midnight and had to be up for a wedding at 6:30am! The guys with the wall connected to us decided to come home drunk and crazy at 3am, totally woke us up and were banging on the joint door (that was thankfully locked) trying to get through. We immediately called the front desk and told them we needed a new room because we needed to try to at least get the next 3 hrs of sleep. 10 minutes later a security guard arrived with a new key and room directions. It was nice that they did what we asked right away. The disturbance was totally not the hotel's fault but we will be sure to ask for a room without a joint door next time... the noise was doubly loud because of it.

This place is gorgeous! Our friends were married here the last weekend in April and it was the perfect setting! Beautiful green grassy area for the ceremony and a gorgeous patio off of a small reception area and kitchen for the reception. I know that everyone enjoyed the beautiful day outside.

The only problem that we had during the wedding was that the staff came an hour and a half early to start tearing down and while it was okay for them to put the ceremony chairs away they just walked into the room (which was currently being used as the bridal room) without asking. We had our stuff everywhere and one of the girls was changing when they came in. Not even an apology! Technically we still had that entire time to finish the reception and clean the place up but they were pushing us so hard to get out of there, it was stressful! I strongly suggest having the father of the bride knock some sense into these guys if they try to do this to you.

All in all a beautiful place for a wedding and I can't wait to go back and take a hike!
