Awful. Awful. Awful.

I came here for my "real" meal before a wisdom tooth extraction. I had read about it, and had been excited by the fact that they served chili chicken - a dish I've been craving ever since I left University of Toronto. Similar to Chongqing chicken, it's a spicy, dry chicken dish studded with chili. I figured that it would be the same dish.

I sat down, ordered the chicken (dry, which costs extra as opposed to the "gravy" [ew]) with a side of chicken fried rice, and waited for the glorious dish to appear.

When it did, I was shocked. It resembled reheated glistening General Tso's chicken. Different flaovr (chili based), but god. The texture of the meat was like that of a takeout chinese restaurant. I was appalled. It was certainly not "Dry". There was an inch of sauce at the bottom of the metal bowl. This shit was SOGGY. My whole meal felt like it had been nuked. I smothered it all with chili sauce and tried to enjoy myself. Forget the fact that I was expecting something else. What I received was abominable, especially for the price. I spent $28 dollars on a meal I could have gotten for 7.

I will never, ever return.

That egg sandwich was the best damn egg sandwich I've ever had in my life. And it's gone. Forever. Apparently for a while they were making it on request, but I was too late.

I will dream of you, sandwich. Your drippy yolk. Your MAYONNAISE. Your thick cut bacon. And your bread. Oh god, the bread. The cheese. Everything. Was. Perfect.

The biscuit and gravy was most excellent, but NOTHING COMPARES.

this burger nearly killed me. everything about it was perfect, as was my drink. i was filled to the brim after half of the meaty mess, but forced myself to continue shoving it in my mouth. after finishing i felt like i had been hit by a truck and immediately excused myself for a cigarette. it took me at least two hours to recover.

but it was worth it.

and i'm in a seventies rec room decorated with the empty cans and a nice mix of friends, attractive and creepy guys. i wouldn't have it any other way.

i had a great time here. i wish that this spot and been around when i was living a short walk away. the bands i came to see are known for their feedback heavy, loud LOUD sounds and i thought the quality was great. for $10 and the ability to both purchase cheap dranks and bring your own, this spot was fantastic.

I often go to sleep wondering if I'm going to wake up.

When I do, after I've made the squinty-eyed robotic commute, I order from Mega Bites. To POWER UP, I generally stick with a bagel, buttered, with bacon, two eggs and cheddar. To accompany this greasy mess, I order a Nescafe Frappe. It's the only decent coffee you can get at this diner. And it does the job.

My one gripe? ThEY ALWAYS PUT A SINGLE PACKAGE OF KETCHuP IN THE BAG!!!!!! WHAT GOOD IS IT?

The man behind the counter found my elementary Italian endearing, and I found the chicken tomato slice delicious. It was the perfect base for the the alcohol i was about to consume, and did not disturb my already beer and whiskey filled stomach.

Thank you, Franklin Park for being the location of one of my more dramatic/romantic experiences.

Fuck you, Franklin Park for letting that shit happen. I'm no softie, I'm tough, I got backbone! I don't get mushy!

Cute venue with great sound!

Saw a few bands play last night & one time last year. I was impressed both times. The staff was really chill and friendly. i'd love for all of my friends shows to be here, I've had too many shit experiences. And talent of that calibre deserves a venue of the same.
