Blue Fin Thai & Sushi Bar

Not bad at all. I wasn't expecting anything special, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered the massaman curry, and my wife ordered the papaya salad. We also ordered a plate of the explosion roll. They were all quite good, and the portions were generous.
They have 5 levels of spiciness: Thai hot, very hot, hot, little hot, and not hot. If you love spicy food, make sure to get "thai hot." But I must warn you, even with my Korean blood, just "hot" was spicy enough. I can't imagine what Thai hot is like.
I know what Anisha is talking about when she said the waiter can talk. He was pretty talkative. I didn't mind it though. At least he chatted us up when we were done, not when we were eating.
Overall, the food was good, the price was your standard Thai price, and I enjoyed my experience here.

I'll tell you one thing why this place is good: 4 of us stuffed ourselves, and it only cost us $33 total including tip. Granted, I was with 3 skinny, sexy women since I'm a big pimp (they hinted I should brag about that); and I can probably out-eat all of them. But still, for 4 people, anything less than $50 is pretty good.
They priced their food cheap, and their food tasted decent enough. Their menu comprised of some hit and misses. The hits made up for the misses, however. Like other people, I loved the Juicy Steamed Pork Buns. You bite off a small piece of the bun and drink the deliciousness inside of it. Also their dumplings tasted great.
On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of their noodle dishes. They didn't have the Asian comfort food flavor I was looking for. Their beef noodle soup wasn't soupy enough for us and tasted weird. Oh well.
Next time I come back, I'm definitely trying out their hot pots. I would also like to try out their cold dishes such as their pig ears, but my dinner companions vetoed against that.
I would also like to mention their staff is very nice. Overall, they have decent food, great prices, and a nice staff. It sounds like a solid 4 star place to me.

This is a diner that specializes in Greek food. Besides that, there's nothing really special about this place.
It's your typical diner with a huge menu. I come here sometimes, and it still takes me a long time to decide what I want. I don't really have a favorite here since most of the food tastes okay. Sometimes, the meat can be quite tough.
If you order the platters or combos, they will give you a ridiculous amount of food. You'll get two small appetizers, a huge bowl of soup or salad, a dessert, and food piled up high on a dish that's big as a turkey platter. They should give a wafer-thin mint afterwards too.
Luckily they do have smaller items such as your basic gyro, sandwiches, and salads. But even those might have a lot of food on them.
If you're into quantity instead of quality, then come here.

I came here for dinner. I ordered the beef tenderloin ka-bob. It tasted good. It was tender and flavorful. They also gave a lot of rice. The price is expensive, but you get a lot of food.
Before you eat, they also give you a huge flat bread with a plate of butter, feta cheese, walnuts, onion, basil, mint, and radishes. The reminded me of nann but with a twist. At first, I didn't know how to eat the flat bread with its condiments. We learned we eat they by wrapping them in the flat bread. I was apprehensive about eating raw onion, but it was all right with the flat bread.
We also ordered dolmeh as an appetizer. I didn't care much for it.
The dessert was decent. They have a lot of pastries to choose from and ice cream. We ordered the ice cream. It was pretty good.
Overall, it's decent food and a lot of food. My stomach was ready to explode after stuffing myself with rice, meat, and flat bread.

I came here for lunch. The atmosphere was great and the server was nice. They were really trying to be trendy, upscale, and hip. Which means the prices were at that range if you know what I mean.
How was the food? I ordered the duck enchilada with mole sauce. It came out lukewarm. The mole sauce completely overpowered the duck. I kind of understand why they did that since duck has a strong flavor. But I love the taste of duck, and they totally killed any flavor with the duck. Also, their portions are too small for their price.
The place is cool, but the food isn't great. I will come back and give it another chance. I just hope the food is not lukewarm next time I come back.

International Spy Museum
Category: Museums
Neighborhood: Penn Quarter
The beginning is pretty cool. You have to choose a cover and remember your mission. There are other fun interactive things to do as well. I liked crawling through the duct.
Most of the time, however, was just reading and watching. It was a big museum with multiple floors with a lot of text and a lot of movies. Also, I'm not a big museum person so all the displays of old spy memorabilia didn't excite me much. After a while, I was getting impatient and just wanted to hurry through.
The bad thing is of course, the price. It's about $18 per adult to go through a giant novel. Also, there were a lot of kids. That was a bit annoying. Maybe if you go on a school day, the number of kids will be less.
Is it worth $18? Not really. And like many others have said, there are a lot of other free stuff to do in DC so you can probably skip this unless you've exhausted everything to see in DC. I give it 2.5 stars. Show owner comment »

Sushi Sono Japanese Restaurant

My review probably isn't fair because I didn't try their sushi, and this place looked like a place that specialized in sushi. They did have some non-sushi items, but they were definitely not the focus.
Instead, I opted to try one of their non-sushi item: the unajyu don. The unajyu don tasted pretty good. But the portion was pretty small for its cost. The eel was cooked well and was flavorful.
I also tried my wife's chirashi don. The sashimi in the don was fresh and good. So I figure their sushi must be good.
Overall everything was solid. Although there were a few things I can nitpick. First complaint is the cost. I don't know if it's because it was in Maryland, but the price seemed a bit too steep for the amount of food we get. The food was good, but it didn't blow me away.
Also, our waitress was a super salesperson. She pushed us buy all sorts of stuff (we didn't). It was quite comical how hard she was trying to sell certain dishes. I wonder if she gets commission on certain dishes. It was kind of annoying though.
Overall, I give it 3.5 stars.

There's a pho chain in Atlanta called Saigon Cafe. I thought this place would be the same place. Luckily it's not.
This place isn't a pho-specialized place. It's an actual Vietnamese restaurant that serves all sorts of Vietnamese food. Their menu is huge, and they seem to have daily specials.
I got their pho, so my review is just about the pho. It's pretty good. The broth tasted nice and savory, and they had tendon! I heard that in DC, tendon is hard to find in pho, and it is. This place is one of the few places that offer tendon in their pho.
I also had a bite of their "Hell's Rice." It was your typical Com. Not bad at all.
The place is clean and the services was adequate. It's a solid Vietnamese place in the Fall Church area.

There was one major problem with this zoo: it's not circular. It's very taxing for people who comes from the metro. I ended up walking for 5 hour straight during that day.
It's a free zoo. That's the best part. Although you'll have a hard time finding the animals. Most of them are usually hiding somewhere, nowhere to be found.
The food prices are your typical overpriced tourist trap. Either pack a lunch or expect crappy food for gourmet prices.
When you do see animals, it's pretty cool. My favorite was the red pandas. One actually spotted us and walked over to us. Then he started eating the leaves nearby. They were very cuddly looking.
I guess the quality of the park depends on your luck. You may see animals or not.. Just get ready to walk for a long time and expect to spend a whole day there if you're going to go through the entire park.
Also, there are tons of propaganda on the signs. But I guess I have to expect that from a zoo. Remember, correlation doesn't mean causation.

Overall, the office is very clean and professional. I got massages from about 5-6 different people here before I found the person I liked. Each massage therapist has their own style. You just have to decide which you would prefer.
They have this yearly membership where the massage is only $39.99 a month. If you get frequent massages, it's a great deal since they require you to pay $39.99 a month for that membership. That $39.99 pays for your massage for that month (or later if you want to save it). Non-member prices are your standard $49.99. But they usually have one-off deals for $39.99 if you watch out for them.
The only negative thing I found is that they messed up my appointment one month. They gave the wrong massage therapist. I wasn't too bothered by it, but I hope they don't make that mistake again. Or I hope my regular one isn't avoiding me.
