I only ever order from this place for delivery, but I have to say the food is a good value and good quality.  They also deliver breakfast, which is great when your starving first thing in the morning.  The skillets and omelets are huge.  And the Fried Chicken is really special.  Even though its delivered so its not at its prime "out of the fryer" temperature when I get it I've been really impressed by the seasoning and delicate breading of their friend chicken.  Great lunch delivery if your on the south side, not very fast though.

After the passing of the original Joe, I'm happy to see Joe's has reopened.  Food is still excellent, they have their original cook, the mexican lunch specials are still where its at, Crispy Tacos, Tostada's, Pork Chops, Flautas, all excellent.  They do an mean Breakfast sandwich too.  How come my bacon never turns out this good?  Calling ahead for take out is still the best way to go at lunch though, unless you have the time to sit and eat.  Great food, great value, good people.

The new version of Takoz has some great dishes if you are willing to stray from the ordinary.  The tostada's are delicious and inexpensive, they will make you up a Chiliquiles or Chorizo con Heuvos for about seven bucks if you ask (they are not on the menu).  I like the large quesadilla on the skillet made corn tortilla.  Everything is cooked well, its a great lunch option, the owners are very nice and try hard to please as well.

Great little place with excellent Filipino food, the Lechon Kawali is spot on, and the Calderetta is beyond excellent.  Very small, very casual, and very busy describe it.  I will have to try to come back off peak and try the Longanisa, which I've been told is quite good.  The pick two take out is a great deal, two entrees and rice for $5, quick as you can order it.  Perfect.

I've been to this place several times since the remodelling (which whas several years ago - I know I'm slow to write) and even brought my Dad here.  As I've opened up the menu I have to upgrade this place to 5 stars, delicious.  Recommendations for the non-Filipinos:  The Kare-Kare, the Calderetta, and the Lechon Kawali (get the Crispy Pata instead if you are fearless).  The only negatives about this place are that it is too small and they don't give you nearly enough rice (if you are Filipino you know what I mean).  Lovely staff, although sometimes slow.  A great Filipino restaurant.  Open one in Logan Square!

A small restaurant that serves home-cooking type Filipino foods.  Lunch specials here are a good value, they give you a bit of everything.  The food here is very good, try the lechon kawali (unless you don't like fried pork).  Never had Filipino food?  Try the Lumpia.  Filipino food is generally not the healthiest.  Stick to the Pancit (noodles) if you are afraid.  But don't be afraid.  Its unbecoming.

If you looking for your first "good" pair shoe (the kind of timeless shoes that will last you for years and years)  of shoes, you couldn't do much better than Allen Edmonds.  The are the most affordable of the high end "goodyear welted" shoes (still not cheap though), and they happen to be American made up in Wisconsin.  The big plus with Allen Edmonds is that they have a lot of odd sizes in stock.  The staff is well educated and will fit you properly in your new pair.  If you are going to start wearing dress shoes everyday, you owe it to yourself to get a proper pair of shoes that are built for comfort and the long hall (buy some cedar shoe trees while your at it so the shoes don't develop ugly banding).  Besides its always nice shopping for quality stuff.

Wanted to update that they now have this Chicken Parmesan with Mosticolli and it is delicous.  Try a bowl of it with the spicy chicken (not too spicy at all, good flavor).  Once you love it, just keep it in mind for catering or whatnot.  Sort of a strange location still, but glad it is going strong.  I'd still read my first review for more info.

After being alerted to the presence of this Browns by Brent I decided to check it out myself.  This location is very strange.  The Browns is located at a Citgo gas station.  Don't be put off though, its surprisingly nice and clean inside, and while there is no eat in section, Browns is mostly take out food any way.  The chicken here is done well and up to standard.  Service was friendly, but a little slow, its sort of a new location so maybe they will speed up.  They offer a spicy version of the chicken here, which is uncommon.  The also offer Chili mac, which is very uncommon.  8 pieces of chicken plus a family size order of pasta and sides runs about $17.99 which actually is pretty good for feeding a big group.

Bargain hunters, ask for the cold chicken, you get a box of random pieces for $3.50.  With an oven set to 325 and about 15 min, cold chicken tastes like new chicken due to the nature of Brown's recipe (please see my full review of Browns Chicken for an in-depth description of the taste profile).  What you lose in choice and warmth you make up for in $, and sometimes you get a good batch.  I bought a box of cold chicken (one usually feeds me dinner for a week - hey I'm poor). and got 3 breasts and 5 wings.

I've had many alterations to my sport jackets and had a suit custom made here (starting at $500, more for more pricey fabric/contruction), and I have to recommend this place highly.  I've always found the proprietor, Mr. Adrian Park to be friendly, honest, and up front with what he can do and cannot do.  One thing he can do is make a suit fit as well as it possible can.  Its nice to have a younger tailor, with more modern taste to work on your suits.  Fit is foremost with suits, and I simply find my older suits unwearable now that I have my custom suit.  I'm saving up to buy more.  If you need simple things done like hemming or having sleeves shortened or a waist taken in you could probably find someplace cheaper to do that.  But if you care about the details or need a suited taken in in the front darts, or more or less waist suppression, or shoulders altered on a jacket or suit, you'll do well to come here first.  Highly recommended, now matter how much a suit costs it always looks bad if it doesn't fit properly, do yourself a favor and find out was a good fit looks and feels like.

The Boiler Room

I can't believe I'd forgotten to write up a review for this place for so long.   The pizza here is very unique, very thin and airy, similar to new york, but less yeasty and chewy. Although its very thin, there is a that old Chicago butteriness and crispness to the crust, combined with the toppings I would hesite to call the pizza "light" no matter how thin it is.  The style really can't be had anywhere else I know of.  The chicken wings are good here as well, they leave the wing tips on which can result in some issues if you try to handle them when very hot.  Prices are very reasonable and the space is big (sort of remiscent of a college bar to me for some reason, except for the quirky touches).  If your looking for a unique thin crust style pizza, here in the city of deep dish, you have found it.

I can't speak to the bar aspect of this place, as I hardly drink anymore.  But I can't really shake the "grown up college bar" vibe I get from this place when I eat here.  It may be a different feel later at night if I was drinking though.
