The lunch staff is a little annoying stopping at your table too frequently to ask you how you are doing.

A straightforward deli sandwich chain. Really good sandwiches, good sides and huge sodas. Nicely crisp pickle spear included with the sandwich.
Made a very brief visit here on a Friday night. Only had time for one beer and shared a basket of fries (which were excellent). The crowd was mostly 25 - 45. No college kids and no old farts so it was perfect for us. It was pretty crowded at 9:45 when we got there, but had cleared out significantly an hour later. I plan to go back for a longer stay and more thoroughly check it out.
Went here Friday (10/23/09) night to see Mike Armstrong. There are two parts to the club. You enter into the "lounge" which looks like an abandoned 1950's diner with the checkerboard floor, tables and stools. The bar is here. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
The performance room is a low ceilng, dimly lit affair with small, uncomfortable tables and chairs. If you called ahead for tickets then you have a table already assigned to you.
The menu is just pizza and nachos. The pizzas are frozen and cooked in little pizza ovens behind the bar, but were still pretty tasty.
The MC would have been funnier if all of his jokes hadn't been so left leaning.

Half dive bar, half dance club. One side of the bar is a dance floor with DJ booth, the other half is just a bar. They recently installed Buzztime trivia which is a plus in my book. It is loud and dark which is what you should expect from such a place. Seems to attract a pretty late crowd.

Splashdown Aquatic Center

Largest water park in the Peoria area. They have a little kids area, regular pool, older kids area, big slide and a lazy river. Lots and lots of lifeguards on duty. The water park facilities themselves are in good shape. The same cannot be said of the locker rooms. Still a fun time on a hot day with the kids.
Stopped into this location for an afternoon snack a week ago. Of course it wasn't busy mid-afternoon, so we just soaked in the ambiance. Large, open bar and grill area. Some TVs showing sports, but not overwhelming. Billiards and darts room and a banquet/poker room in the back. Buzztime trivia, so you know I was happy with that! I only had an appetizer and a soda while we were there, but I definitely plan to return during my next vist to Holt.

Kittitas Valley Community Hospital

Had to stop here for my dad while we were on vacation in the mountains to make sure he was not having a heart attack. The ER was clean, competent and efficient. This hospital is big enough to have modern equipment and good doctors, but small enough to pay attention to its patients. Unexpected hospital visits are never good, but if you have to have one, this hospital is a great place to do it!
Great, independent sporting goods store. They have a lot of ski equipment and an impressive selection of quality, high-end, serious camping and climbing gear. The staff here was very helpful when we stopped in looking for advice about local hikes.

How you feel about this place will depend on what you expect from it. I ended up here because they have Buzztime trivia. This is a bar at the end of a small strip mall. My dad described it as a "neighborhood drunk tank" which seemed pretty accurate the night we were there. They have billiards and an impressive selection of beer on tap. The crowd during our visit was quite diverse in age, race and level of inebriation.

A non-chain bar and grill. Good beer selection and simple menu. Friendly waitstaff. I sat in the bar which has several big screens showing sports. Mix of locals and visitors.
