RE: Desperate Almost Married Couple - Looking For a Replacement Venue on 5/19/12

Hi Ronit!

We were wondering if your venue was open on 5/19/12 for a wedding.

We are supposed to have a wedding on 5/19/12 but our venue recently lost their permit and we are looking for new venues where we can hold our wedding.

Please let us know if you are available on 5/19/12 as we are pretty desperate right now. Thank you!

                                                      (flash forward)

Rene / (Ronit) is truly amazing! After my frantic email and one phone call, Rene and her husband has been my saving grace. Rene calls me back the same day I called her and said she has an opening on our wedding date! We schedule an appointment for a viewing of the venue the next day.

Not only am I greeted with open arms when I arrive, but Rene plays with my dog, Mocha, and her to join in on our meeting! To add the cherry to the sundae, I see a wonderfully delightful spread of chocolate chip cookies, apples and water! Truly a God send considering the hellish ordeal of looking for a new venue last minute.

Rene has given me the utmost respectable service I have ever witnessed on my hunt for the perfect wedding venue and even before things with my current venue went awry. I can honestly say, I have never ever met any venue coordinator as wonderful and considerate as Rene!

Gardens of Paradise a hidden oasis nestled in the hills of Santa Clarita, the venue is absolutely stunning. The venue is picturesque and has most of the iconic backdrops: a low limbed tree for brides to sit on with their train cascading elegantly. Rolling dirt hills for the nature shots, water falls, and even a rustic old fashioned general store for the "cowboy boot" fanatics.

The entire venue can be split up into themes. One side of the venue is a garden setting, perfect for traditional ceremonies complete with a white gazebo. Another side has a cool European Pool Night Club feel to it, perfect for lounging during cocktail hour. And the kicker is a massive white tent that can fit up to 600 people, add draping, crystal chandeliers, and candles and that outdoor ballroom will be complete.

You can even bring in your own rentals and catering! Gardens of Paradise you rock!

Great place for an snack, appetizer, or meal. Perfect if you aren't sure what else is going to be open on Christmas day and you need something to tide you over since you have to wait 2 hours to be seated at Sam Woo/ or Dim Sum.

Pork Buns - were a good size at $1.30 a piece, coming fresh out of the oven at 11:30 am.
Chicken Pot Pies - Not really worth it unless you are craving the           great American spin- off.
Shredded Beef w/ Green Onion Roll - Only good because rolls last through the night perfect for hangover snacks. (costs more than the pork bun).

Honey, I want to see your Pork Buns in Vegas, baby Vegas.

I had Bryan Berkey as my massage therapist and I swear I wanted to propose to him after my massage. Yeah, he worked out my knots pretty damn well.

Human Chiropractic Clinic is a good place to go if you have a backache. They have adjusted my back on numerous occasions and they also advised me on various exercises that would help straighten out the alignment of my back.

Human Chiropractic also has this handy dandy buzzer on the head rest to call for help if the heating pads get too warm for you.

Damn, I totally missed the happy hour (I guess between 4-7pm daily). But my posse and I came in for a quick bite and a few black sangrias on late Thursday during Art Walk.

The Must is a must for chicken sliders on brioche. OMFG these little suckers are to die for. The crispy deep fried chicken is offset by the light and airy texture of the brioche. So fabulous, I wanted to eat all 6 of them but I was rationed off to 1 1/2 since my greedy boyfriend didn't want to give me his portion.

Yeah, I just called you out hunny buns. Oh damn those brioche buns... *Salivating*

We also had the beer mussels, but those weren't exactly a favorite of mine. The texture of the mussels were good, but I got this sharp taste in my mouth, much like overcooked spinach. Not the best tit for tat.

Which reminds me I should have gotten some of those tater tots and maybe some mac and cheese.

I must, I must, I must go back during happy hour.

The amount of food + the price + late night = 4 stars.

Gushi is located next to the former dining hole that was previously known as Buck Fifty (sandwiches for $1.50). I guess Gushi decided to hold the torch by honoring good food at reasonable prices.

It's true, you can get a bulgogi plate and it will literally last you two meals and they even have this squeezey bottle of all you can squirt teriyaki sauce.

Redondo Live Fish & Sushi - CLOSED

Redondo Fish and Sushi offers special dining combos. I believe we got the special designed for two people and the amount of food we got was off the hook.

We started with an amuse bouche of abalone porridge. Followed by some sea snails in. We then had tasty slivers of raw squid with a refreshing red pepper sauce that complimented the crunch of a small salad.

Our next large course was a plate of assorted sashimi, including your usual suspects such as tuna, salmon and yellowtail. We then continued with a light and crispy fried fish. Our next entree was a mild fish cake soup aka odeng tang. We then had a crab to share and washed that down with the famous spicy seafood soup (which a lot of the other Korean crab places serve as their specialty).

All in all we had an enormous amount of food amongst the both of us and the dinner was around 100 dollars. Not bad, considering the copious amount of food as well as a vast variety we got to sample.

I don't quite know what to say about the nail art trend. Yes, nail art tends to be aesthetically please, but only if it is done right.

All I can say is that I would never come here for nail art. However, for those of you in a jam or have major toe jam at 8pm on Friday night, this place is open late.

Just be prepared to spend an arm and a leg ($40 mani/ pedi with french tip toes). Did I mention I had lint pieces in my polish that I had to point out to the nail technician? Yeah, she continued working on me with an attitude.

However, the older Vietnamese lady was quite pleasant.

I am so hungover. Thanks Pama, Dawson and the W for making me the hot mess that I am this morning.

On the bright side I scored me some awesome stuff and helped other women in need.

Awesome event!
