Ozzy's Sports Grill

Ozzy's is your everyday sports bar wherever in the US you are. The food was ok, nothing special. Decent selection of US beers and a few Int'l... nothing too fancy.

I went early to catch an EPL match (early considering it's London time) and the bar was basically empty so I can't speak to the crowd or what the service would look like if it were packed. The bartender WAS very nice tho and gave me extra oranges with my beer...  as well as tuning the tv to Fox Soccer Channel (they don't have Plus tho so just a heads-up).

It's walking distance from where I was staying so I would certainly go back... but only for a match and lunch. Not sure the vibe is good at night or even for more crowded games because the tables seem pretty packed. I think I did see some space for some video games, etc.

So I have to say that I've never eaten here before... but I came here early to watch an EPL match when I was visiting and am definitely willing to come back and try food.

This is a great cozy pub to watch matches at... but beware and get there EARLY! Windows open out but it's a strictly residential area so if it gets too noisy (and let's not kid ourselves here it's the EPL) the windows need to be closed again. On a cold day it's not that big a deal... on a HOT day with all those sweaty people, well... I think you get the point.

The bar situation is pretty decent too and I had as good a service as can be expected considering it was packed that day. They have some decent beers on tap and the staff is quick and professional.

Only 3 stars because I haven't tried the food.

Wow! I can't believe I haven't written a review for Crazy Rock'N Sushi.... I was first introduced to this place a few years ago by my then gf, and altho my relationship has gone the way of the dodo bird this place will definitely be a staple. I've since brought co-workers here and other friends to universal acclaim!

They have "happy hour" sushi deals, which are usually a great bargain. Add to that some awesome sake choices, and a very good seaweed salad and you've definitely found one way to my heart! Usually I get misago, unagi, and some kind of roll... I have had baked lobster, CA rolls, dynamite rolls, among others. All very good... additionally their sweet shrimp literally melts.

Stop here if you are in the area... you (and your tummy) won't regret it.

Ok, I've been here ONCE! And I'm not averse to coming back.... lol.

However, I ordered the lasagna and it was well.... odd. I have to say that I did not get lasagna WHILE I was in Italy. However, it is a dish I have consumed many, MANY times before.... this was the first time that I had it with a cheese sauce rather than a tomato based sauce. Hence the odd...

The lasagna wasn't bad, but I was so surprised by the sauce that I'm not sure that I would be a great judge of all the other flavors. Also the edges of the lasagna had been a little over-cooked. As if the lasagna had been prepared previously and then over-zealously heated again before being served to me.

I also had fresh bread (good), but nothing else.... Altho I did get a coupon for checking in. So there's that... I'm sure there will be a follow-up review since I certainly intend to try this place again. Parking is either street for a VERY small lot around the back.

I really heart Y-Not... it's totally local and a Torrance institution. I love that there are people who have been going here for YEARS!

I have honestly never had anything but the tuna melt. Yes... seriously... after years of going there and countless times eating there that's all I get. It's the perfect mix of crispy bread, soft cheese and tuna mix, and tangy pickle.

Seriously... one of my favorite quickies.

uh... yeah.

WOW Beauty Center

I'm not a big "care all about my face" kind of gal. In fact I'm usually too busy flying around in my jet to stop and wonder what my face looks like... ;-).

But when I do feel like stopping and "cleaning up" as it were... I think of Floyd's and WOW. I love that they reward their regular customers with "frequent flyers' cards. I've gone through a few by now. I typically come in for a clean-up and I've almost never had to wait. The staff know what they are doing and it's usually staffed at the appropriate levels. That's a pretty big plus since I don't have tons of time to waste on a beauty regimen. Uma usually works on me threading my eyebrows and such, but I've had all the other staff at one point. Also, I love that they are a local family owned business. I've also had some waxing done here and they do a pretty conscientious job and I've rarely had a complaint.

Parking on the street, the lot behind the shop is supposed to have a few spots reserved for the beauty center but I've encountered an angry little man working there who insists not. Since I don't have time to lasso him, I just park in the front. It's easier springing into my jet then anyway....

Btw, some people are under the misconception that threading doesn't hurt... HURT is a term defined by the subject, so don't bet on it. I have a high pain tolerance (naturally), but think about it... someone is pulling hair out of your face (or various OTHER body parts). It's gonna sting.... just "woo-sah"... and don't blame the stylist.

Super fast and accommodating staff.

I was introduced to this little gem on a VERY busy Hollywood street via the delicious smells (my parking lot is right behind the eatery) and a former co-worker. I was NOT disappointed....

If you want quick, quality Indian food this be the place. It's cleaner, quicker, and more reasonably priced than most of the other pop-ups along Hollywood lately. I've had the samosas (several times) and been well rewarded as my taste-buds have assured me. Also, the tikka masala wrap which was interesting and delicious. They have an awesome sauce which helped prevent the whole wrap from being too dry. Urban Masala also has wonderful naan... and really after all that, for less than $10.

What more could a customer want from an urban eatery? Go here... I promise you won't be disappointed.

District 13 is a great place to grab a bite and forget that you're only on your lunch hour!! It's a very laid back gastropub with a couple of different beers on tap and some of the best hot dogs I've had. Their Louisiana with sweet peppers is my favorite and couple that with some cool Hank's soda and it's a winner each time. The staff is friendly and accommodating and thank GOD that someone still knows what "butterflying" a hot dog means.... don't laugh it's important damnit!

Unfortunately I've only been here on my lunch hour so I haven't had a chance to sample their very intriguing beer list, and they no longer get Fox Soccer Channel... Boo! No fault of theirs, DirecTV just sucks.

Anyway, great place to grab a bite!

Was here for the soft opening and had a wonderful time!

The restaurant is very cozy with a bar area in the front and tables (free standing and along the walls) further in before the kitchen. There's also a little patio area which is surprisingly private and great for a little romance ;-). One of the best features is the awesome custom designed wine rack.... The wine rack, btw is definitely an example of how one should pick form over function. The aesthetics of the design go great over the bar area and while it might annoy the staff (being hard to read the wine labels while the bottles rest in their little hidey-holes) it looks great to this customer!

Besides, while the wine list looks very impressive, by far the winner on the night my two friends and I went was certainly the sangria! The spices are perfectly seeped in and the refreshing drink and went well with the plates we chose.

First off we started with several different small plates (pinxtos?) like the calamari with bread (I'm sorry-- I was too busy eating to write down all the different spellings, unless you are familiar with Spanish style food I bet YOU can't spell it either!), batter friend chicken with goat cheese and honey (OMG... it was so good), and lamb meatballs. The fideua negra which I didn't have room for, seafood inspired paella (that had lagonstinos) which I ordered and pretty much put away, and a pork dish which literally you could fork off rounded out the rest of our meal. Accompanied of course by the sangria and plate-fulls of the house bread which was AMAZING... I'm not kidding it's got little golden raisins and was just the perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside... MMMM....

My friends and I spent a few hours inside and it was such a wonderful atmosphere that I'm already thinking of who else to invite just so that I can eat there again and try the rest of the menu. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and we never felt pressured at all, which sometimes happens in a smaller restaurant. Parking availability is probably going to be dependent on WHEN one decides to go. There is a public lot right around the corner, and Green is one way so there's parking on both sides of the street. Racion is located right next to Rocket Fizz so just look for the neon lights!

This is a delightful restaurant in a great location (plenty of shopping and walkable streets to work-off the food!), which I'm sure to visit over and over.

Crema Dolce is probably the best place in the South Bay for gelato if not the best place period. I have come here several times now and have tried various different types of gelato. So far the winners are the chocolate varities (yum!), most of the fruit flavors, and their ginger variety. I usually get two scoops and waffle cone, which they always top off with an adorable waffle wedge.

This place is local... right near the beach, and a gem of a place to hang out as well. The prices are reasonable, the owners creative, and very friendly. You really could not ask for more from a local gelato shop... or any shop for that matter.
