Ahhh! Was a fan, still a fan.

I knew Zoe before she joined her fellow ex-Belltown restaurant siblings on Capitol Hill. And really happy to know she hasn't lost herr touch--believe it or not, she has gotten better.

From fries with the most addicting aioli to manila clams in wine, I enjoyed every minute and every bite. Their menu changes, but if you ever see pappardelle, it is a MUST. And they have oyster with a refreshing citrus concoction that I will exclusively return for.

I don't know how many times I've passed by Luc's "SUNDAY BRUNCH" lettering on their window. Finally, I took a special trip on Madison to catch up with a friend over brunch.

I have to be honest, I was sadly disappointed.

Our experience started off waiting at the front for approximately 10 minutes, despite our attempt to get anyone's attention. - Strike One.

After we were finally seated, we got really excited for their main dishes croque monsieur and croque madame, both of which we discovered were sold out :( Brunch wasn't even over yet. - Strike Two.

We settled on french soups for each of us with the eggs benedict. Soup was lukewarm and eggs were cold. Sad day. - Strike Three.

Based on other reviews, I still have faith in Luc given the flavors were good, but will be a while before I live down this experience. Too many restaurants, too little time.

Umi, we've been seeing each other for a long time, but I've fallen in love with your sister... or brother? (Let's be gender neutral for the sake of this post)

Momiji offers the same fresh menu and wide selection of rolls with a little Capitol Hill twist. The ambiance is amazing and so ZEN. Like really zen, with the little rake marks on the sand and everything.

I can't believe I used the word "zen" in a Yelp review, but really, there is no other word to explain.

And I may never trek to Belltown for sushi ever again.

I've lived on Capitol Hill for over ten years and almost four years living two blocks from Sushi Maki. It never crossed my mind to try it out, but filed it under "places I'll eventually try when I can't make a decision on where to eat".

But you know that file is hardly ever visited when you're actually trying to decide where to eat, but can't remember what you filed under this list.  Except this past Sunday. Miraculously, my poor shot term memory came back to live for a split second.

I'd say their sushi is not terrible. It's a fine balance between Umi (but you're too lazy to get dress up and spend $$$) and Sushiland/Blue C Sushi (aka I want sushi but I'm lazy and hungry NOW).

Back to "places I'll eventually try again when I can't make a decision on where to eat".

Today, I walked home in the snow eating delicious Molly Moon's in my hand.

Honey Lavender and/or Earl Grey with Girl Scout Thin Mints in homemade waffle cone FTW!!  Also, stocked up on chapstick (Molly Moon's homemade chapsticks are the best).

Vivace Coffee comes in a close second. Satisfies without fail.

Hits. The. Spot.

Vermicelli rice noodle bowls!  The combo comes with chicken, beef, egg roll, veggies, and the most delicious marinate ever.  Portion is pretty huge.  Also saw Vietnamese crepe, need to get that next time.

Pho isn't as great as expected (a little bland), but still a nice pair to your meal on a cold winder day.

This is going to be my most practical post ever. Get olives and salad to start, order enough pizzas so you can take some home. Wash down with a beer or soda, and have dessert...or two. Enjoy 80s & 90s music. While I didn't have to, it's worth the wait, and will be back.

As close to Tijuana as you can get, and speaking from experience.

Mulitas, burritos, tacos - you name it. The meat is flavorful, juicy, and tender. Tortilla is fresh and clearly homemade. #ohmygodinmymouth

California transplants no longer have to migrate south for good mexican food.  Service is a bit slow, but worth the wait.

Many nostalgic memories from college spent at this place.

Reminds me of a cafe/restaurant in Zurich or any European country that has nice winters to spend cozy nights in.  Desserts are amazing and company is nice.  Love is in every sweet bite of blissful things made out of chocolate, coffee, apple pie, and cheesecake.

The menu is not bad either, but nothing out of the ordinary.  Had this been a review solely on the dessert menu, it would have been a 4 or above.

I was giddy and formulating this review in my head during our entire experience at Dinette - about our appetizers (chicken liver, prosciutto), green salad, entree (gnocchi, salmon), drinks, quaint and rustic ambiance, and the perfect Seattle summer evening.

Everything was a perfect 5-star confirmation of my Dinette curiosity that was finally explored after Rue La La offered a deal online.  Dinette has always been on my list thanks to raving reviews from friends and glad the food was exceptional beyond expectation - no plate left was behind or disappointed.

Until we overhead a conversation between the our waitress and the table next to us.  For the sake of privacy, I won't divulge the details, but it was more than enough to make me lose my appetite.  It was a good thing I was on my last heavenly piece of gnocchi, but upset my dining experience was ruined because I have a really soft spot for bread pudding.

I didn't want to believe the pretentious rumors I would seldom read in these reviews and a little piece of me dies as I write this post.  I'll definitely go back for the food (it's truly amazing), but I hope my experience will be different given I live down the street and can see this place as a regular establishment.
