They have a barn where you learn how to pretend milk a cow, pick eggs, and how to process vegetables that are grown on the farm. Their dairy farm also includes cows, horses, sheep, chicken, and pigs. Definitely a fun family destination for an afternoon.

And I came back for the 10th anniversary celebration which was really neat for free admission. They have such fabulous exhibits such as the Chicago water works which is an interactive exhibit of how the the Chicago River/Lake Michigan system works. They also include a butterfly atrium where you can see butterflies of all different types and sizes. They also have this great Critter Cam section so you can learn how we learn about animals and their natural habitats. There is also a Green section in how to make our homes more green and environmentally friendly. Our son loved crawling around in the kiddie section and went down a slide for the first time!
This is a great family museum but also a beautiful venue for formal events, as well - they have this great rooftop area with beautiful views of both the city and the lake which was gorgeous lit and decorated for the gourmet tasting that I attended.
Their chicken wrap had way too much rice in it and on top of the chicken kebabs that they put in, they also put broccoli and cauliflower in it, too. How weird is that? On top of that, there was also tomatoes and black beans in it, too. Their grilled ranch bbq salad was just too much and not that great. It was just way too much sauce and their salad also had black beans in it.
Overall, the food wasn't that great and felt pricey. Their combos weren't that good especially for a college town.

I'll start with the not so impressed - not impressed that we waited nearly 45 minutes in line to a bartender for drinks and when we got there, they changed it from martinis to martinis poured over the rocks (and wayyy too much ice) in a plastic cup). The food was just cupcakes which were delicious but not as much selection as I am used to in the past.
Pros - the photographer was everywhere and the music was fun (a bit loud for the seated area) with the live band. People were dressed up for a good and fun time. But the Yelpers that were there, it was fabulous seeing them again.
I was a little wary of this location since it is located in a strip mall in Wilmette but the front desk waiting area is clean, relaxing and the staff is very friendly and professional. My massage therapist was great - he really worked out all of my knots and soreness. I'm used to telling massage therapists my trouble areas but he stopped me and said "I will give you a whole body massage and if I come across an area that needs more work, I will focus there too"
Okay? Sure! He did a great job and it was a fantastic deal. Another bonus for me - this location is close by my in-laws so my son gets to play with his grandparents while Mommy gets a mini break.
They also have Market Day items (Sara Lee deli meats, etc, or frozen foods) where a percentage of your purchase will go back to the local schools - ours ends up going back to our local church.
Now that our family has grown since our wedding photography experience with Peter, we used Peter again in doing Belly Photos trying to capture the beauty of my first pregnancy of our son. Peter had some fun ideas and made me feel and look more beautiful than my swollen ankles and other fun pregnancy things that make you feel self-conscious.
I can't wait to eventually schedule Peter for a fun family shoot with our son. If you are looking for a fun photographer who isn't afraid of getting dirty to get the perfect shot with a quirky fun sense of humor, Peter is definitely your guy.

This is an overall review of Peter Coombs as a photographer - we used him three times - engagement photo session, wedding and Trash the Dress Photoshoot.
Engagement Session: We just got our photos and free proof cd of our engagement shoot and Peter Coombs was FABULOUS - I loved almost every single photo! We felt so comfortable around him and he truly captured a LOT of intimate shots that I never even knew happened! So far, in working with Peter Coombs - he's super friendly, and I loved our engagement photo session. His original specialty is actually theatre photography and he comes to us from London, England! However, he also does wedding photography, which as he put it - is a production in itself - which it is!! He was very professional but was able to give us enough instruction while allowing for us to be natural and comfortable. Within a couple minutes, we were able to relax and just be ourselves while we did some of the simplest things. Many of the time, I forgot that he was there and he was truly able to capture our intimate moments.
Wedding: Peter Coombs was really great - he was everywhere and anywhere. He was promptly on time and for the most part, everyone was very comfortable around him and half of his photos, I didn't even realize so many things were happening at the same time. He really captured some of our intimate moments as well as some really funny ones, as well.
Trash the Dress: Peter was amazing - he came up with some fabulous ideas and I felt like a rockstar posing around and goofing off. He had some fabulous ideas and a lot of their photos turned out really well. I have to admit that my favorite photoshoot with Peter was the Trash the Dress one - you can see some of the photos here:

The tuna tataki is as delicious and fresh as I remember it - perhaps, even better! The godzilla and caterpillar rolls are must have favorites. This time, we tried the tarantula and hot dazy rolls. The hot dazy was definitely interesting and the tarantula was another delicious selection.

One of the best sushi places that I've been to - you definately pay for the quality of the sushi. The rolls are amazing and the service is excellent. Try the spicy shrimp maki - a mouth orgasm! A little tidbit - the bathrooms sinks are fun.

I had this amazing breakfast sandwich with their home potatoes which were just amazing - everything was just cooked to perfection and the bacon was so savory. Service was helpful and attentive - they even brought me an extra plate and glass for my baby without me even asking. Decently priced for brunch and next time, I'm getting those pancakes with blueberries or french toast that my friend had!

There is also plenty of food including a section for organic, farm grown food. Their apple and pumpkin donuts are absolutely delicious.
Other than that, it was a nice fall outing and the pumpkin donuts really hit the spot.
