Since there's no good Puerto Rican food in Boston, I save my appetite for my trips to New York. I've been to La Taza de Oro and it's quite alright, but this place was everything I wanted. $4 bought me a pretty big salad with tons of avocado, and for $8.50 I got the best pernil (roast pork shoulder) I've had in a while with some rice and beans. The service was friendly enough, not over-the-top friendly but I could always get one of the old ladies to bring me what I needed. This place is small and casual and they're blasting trashy Univision on the TV and I'm not rushed out the door, so it works well for me! I will be recommending to all my fellow Puerto Rican friends.

Oh, and grab a coffee on your way out-- I'm not a big coffee drinker but theirs was just like I remember back home.

I just had lunch here with a co-worker. It was pretty awesome!

First off, the place is very well laid-out, the bar looks comfortable and they have some armchairs. By the look of it, I'm not the only one who thought this is a great place for a business meeting-- the place was fully booked for lunch.

We ordered the tuna tartare to split and they were nice enough to bring it in two plates. It was really delicious, teeny-tiny portion but enough to whet my appetite. I ordered the burger (I had greens instead of fries), and it was very good. It was hyped a lot to me, perhaps a bit too much as I was expecting this to be the absolute best burger I've ever had. It wasn't-- I'd have to give that title to the burger at the Butcher Shop with the smoked tomato jam, only served for lunch. But the burger at Radius can claim a feat no other burger has claimed in my 22 years of existence: I, an unwavering yellow cheese hater, knowingly had a burger with YELLOW cheddar (btw, who even uses yellow cheddar anymore?) and LOVED it. (But seriously, get white cheddar.) On that basis alone, this burger is worth the $19. (Also, it's quite big. I was full half-way through.)

Also, service rocked. The waiter recognized my Brass Rat and gave me a shout-out and my glass was always full of nice, cold water.

Come to this place, be it on your budget or on an expense account. Just come.

I came here for burgers and beer. Unbelievable! We had to wait for 20 minutes but just went to Beehive for a quick drink. Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. I asked about a French wine and she countered with one in the same price range that she liked better. It was great.

We ordered a cheese to start with, and she brought us more cheese on the house for us to try. I loved them both and I asked for the names so I could buy them at Formaggio. She came back swiftly with a slip with the names.

The burgers were amazing and I savored every bite of mine. I wish they had a burger on the regular menu-- I'd come back for it time and time again. I had mine with fingerling potatoes; they're nothing special but delicious. The simplicity really lets you taste the flavor in the skin.

We had the ricotta tart, which has a sweet, nutty flavor I thought was either almond or pistachio (turned out to be almond) and comes topped with cherries.

Overall, it is pricey, but for a splurge it's really worth it. I would definitely come back. The wine list is carefully curated and the meat is quality stuff.

This place can do no wrong in my eyes. I come here maybe every two weeks for drinks and it's the only place where I truly don't mind emptying my pockets at the bar. The bartenders are all pretty good, in particular Simon and the girl with the short hair (can't remember her name). They carry a bunch of spirits/liqueurs I haven't seen in many places here, and they serve pastis the proper way. Simon even mixed my friend and me drinks based on which spirits we liked, and they were all amazing! He changed my life after fixing me a Pimm's cup.

As for the crowd, it's an interesting one. Generally attractive crowd, but sometimes the douche factor is so high that I wonder if Alibi was packed for the night and we got their overflow. The odd bro who tries to get a Long Island iced tea or a screwdriver-- always a good laugh. Why would you get such basic drinks when you have creative bartenders and are paying $10+ for drinks?

The music is a great touch and I love going for the Latin jazz band. Get the fried chicken if you go for dinner, and if you're doing drinks at least grab some fries. They're delicious.

I had my 20th birthday dinner here one time and liked it, but never went back until a friend made brunch reservations. The place gets way busy during brunch and we had to wait even after making reservations, but it was worth it. The $10 prix fixe brunch is a great deal, but the burger is AMAZING, possibly the best I've had. Really thick, with boursin cheese and lots of bacon, and the bun was buttered and toasted and absolutely delicious. I definitely need to come back for the burger.

My recommendation: Make reservations; otherwise, you'll wait an hour for a table. Aaaand get the burger!

I came here with a friend because we heard they do $1 tapas from 5:30-7:30 on weekdays. It was empty when we got there and never filled, and it was a Thursday night. It didn't strike me as a place that people go to much.

The place itself is very gorgeous, especially the bar. It's spacious and well decorated. The bartender was very friendly and suggested some drinks that hit the spot. We were more than pleased with his service-- he even showed us the infused spirits they make in-house! I was sold on drinks alone.

So why three stars? I was a bit mislead by the $1 tapas offering. Obviously it's not meant to be dinner-- it's a ploy to get me to come and drink and maybe order off the regular menu, and I know that well. But I what we got for $1 was maybe two bites. It was just sad. The fried artichokes were amazing and the chicken empanadas were just like the ones I ate when little, so I would say the food is good. (Not better than Toro, but at least they take reservations!) I did check out the regular menu and it didn't strike me as anything special. If I were to come back, I'd be coming more for the creative (and strong) drinks than for the food itself.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. I have lunch here pretty much every Saturday, often enough that the manager chit-chats and actually remembers what I say and the waiters know me as the Catfish Sandwich Girl.

And that's what I'm here to vouch for: Spicy Catfish Sandwich, with an extra side of tartar sauce. $10 won't get you a better deal in Boston, I swear. The catfish fillet is HUGE and the seasoning is cajuny and stuff. They serve it with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a slice of lemon to squeeze on top. Plus, the fries! Thin and crispy but not burned... I've had tons of fries and the ones here just really, really hit the spot. Especially with the extra tartar sauce to dip them in-- that stuff is like crack.

Other things that are great here: The crab cake melt sandwich, the calamari (fried), the fried oyster roll (although it can't touch the catfish), the salad with salmon and potatoes, the crab bisque I've tried to make at home and doesn't quite taste the same, and the fisherman's platter (or captain, whatever). The bread they serve to nibble on is sooooo good! Soft and plushy on the inside, steamy when you tear it. I have dreams about it.

Stay the heck away from the Cobb salad-- I think it's a disgrace. There shouldn't be any black olives in it! It's the only bad thing I have to say about the menu.

Decent beer selection, and the bartender doing Saturday lunch is super friendly, chatty, and really knows his stuff.

The first thing about this place: It is tiny and it gets packed for dinner time really quickly. I tried going once and the wait for two people was 40 minutes. I left and came another day.

When I finally got to try it, I really, really liked it. I had a burger with mozzarella, tomato, and balsamic mayo. The patty could have stood alone by itself-- it was seasoned really well, cooked as I asked, and thick and juicy. The balsamic mayo was a great complement. The tomato, meh, but whatever. It came with chips and beans, and I didn't have much of either because the burger was huge and I'd tried their amazing onion rings. Our bill (two burgers, two sodas and an order of rings) came to ~$30 or so with tip, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

I'd go to this place if I was really, really craving it or if I was there in Davis. The food was great, but it's too busy for me to make the trek over and realize I'll have to wait 40 minutes. Just make sure you get there before 6:30.

I found Presidential Properties after seeing their posts on Craigslist, and out of all the agencies I contacted, they were the most professional throughout the entire process. Kristie emailed me back promptly with a questionnaire to see what I was looking for and what she could offer me. She set me up to look at apartments with Angela, who was very pleasant and honest about the places we were seeing. In less than an hour, I had found an apartment that fit my budget, and it was recently renovated and professionally managed. I signed the lease two days later. I still browse the Craigslists posts and feel like I landed an incredible apartment for the price, so these people did me a great service.

Some may not be willing to pay a finder's fee, but Presidential Properties has access to places you'd never find otherwise, they're extremely professional, and the process is as quick and stress-free as you could ever imagine. I would definitely work with them again if I wanted a Beacon Hill apartment, and I've recommended them to friends who are in the market for places.

This place is alright for me, just alright. The bartenders are very good and whip up some nice drinks, and there are very good beers on tap and bottled. The menu is nice but the food, although good, is nothing special. I had the poutine, which I was super excited about, and it was not what I hoped for. It had very few cheese curds and the gravy was all on the bottom, not poured over the fries. Then I had the chicken sandwich, which was alright as well but nothing memorable. The salad that came with it was drenched in olive oil and not much else. Not very appetizing.

All in all, this is as classy as I've seen around Davis so it's not too bad, but I wouldn't come back.
