I really didn't need anything else, but I had to walk down every aisle simply because I was curious to see what they had. Half of the products I ended up with, I couldn't tell what they actually said, but they looked like what seems to be Japanese mayo, kimchi, soy sauce, and brown rice, etc.? They truly have everything you need, as long as your willing to take the risk, and guess / hope what you're getting is really what you think it is.
I have to come back to check out the specialty stores within the marketplace. I was particularly intrigued by one of the stores advertising self-disinfecting toilet seats?.. If only I wasn't in a rush the last time.

'booty basement' is what made and killed this place for me. years ago when douchebags have not heard of this once fine establishment, it was fun. now that they have, its really not. simple as that. it gets way too packed with mindless yuppies and the like.
dont pay 5 bucks for an ass grab and beer on your shirt.

its all in simplicity.. just the traditional amoroso roll, beef, onions, cheese.. and you've got yourself ten inches of pure beefy bliss. ten whole inches. i ravaged the whole thing, which surprised me. ive never had it that long, and it was arguably the best i've ever had. after it was all done, i had to give it a moment to sink in. it was that good.
my roommate felt the same way. in her case, she couldn't handle the whole ten inches at once, so she packed it up. i then heard her getting up in the middle of the night.. she said she couldn't sleep and had to have it. after she had her fix, she claims she slept like a baby.
(and just to clarify, i was talking sandwiches)

i was guilty of that.. as much as i wanted to freely grab plates that were slowly drifting in front of me, i couldn't. for me, it was ooh roll.. color?.. price?.. and the cycle continued til i was six (mini) plates deep. i admit, my experience would have been much more enjoyable if i wasn't adding numbers and colors in my head but it was a good dining experience nevertheless. i would recommend the baked mussels and the salmon skin hand roll. mmhmm
two highlights of my visit.. we had a surprise 20% discount off our bill.. apparently its an all day happy hour everyday. and the sushi chef was slightly buzzed and very entertaining. that "water" he was sipping on turned out to be sake. but i guess as with drinking games, i assume he's a better chef when drunk?

word of advice to servers: dont make it blatantly obvious that you're prioritizing a table full of all your friends over other customers who were seated way before them. and dont blame the poor sushi chef when people become livid.
so i drag my roommate with me, and sure enough it was there! fredcel!! the little yellow-painted stucco building was such a pretty sight! this whole time i lived just minutes away. although the selection was slim, the food was really good and the guy working there looked kinda like my uncle! i felt at home. he was so nice, i almost wanted to call him uncle!
so yes thanks to yelp, my life is somewhat better. long gone are the days of fighting snow and sleat and traffic on the 15 just to get some comfort food.

but, like any other fine establishment.. sometimes the mad rush just ruins it. i would recommend coming here during off hours. i have yet to figure out when that is since i come with the big herd, but im guessing weekdays mornings to about 5-ish?
and be warned: DO NOT USE A CART. you'll only get road rage. the aisles are narrow, but even worse are the mean 'basket' people! i dont know if some are truly oblivious to everyone else, or just act like they are and deliberately cut carts off. i felt like a hummer in a sea of priuses, and they all hated the hummer! im gonna be smart and carry a basket next time.

apparently in san diego, its now become about blocking traffic on the 94 freeway (come on now), ignoring stop lights and traffic signals, throwing beer bottles on the sidewalk, and not letting pedestrians pass. the organizers undoubtedly meant well, they just attracted the wrong crowd.. douchebags.
its always the ignorant over-zealous assholes that ruin it for everyone.
