Recently it was my cousins turn to buy shampoo for our home and he came home with Suave. It had to be the worst garbage I've ever washed my hair with. It left my hair feeling dry, brittle, and unmanageable. He also came home with some Safeguard soap that left me smelling worse than I did before I showered. I think his desire to save a dollar at the expense of other peoples happiness led him to live somewhere else.
Yesterday I was going to buy shampoo and conditioner at Albertsons but the prices have so outrageously skyrocketed that I was either going to stop washing my hair or else go to Walmart. So I went to Walmart. The line took forever to get through. I've had a problem with my left eye for over a year now and they had an optometrists office right in front of my checkout line. It turns out I have a bacterial infection in my eye and am now on my way to having an effective left eye again, as it's been virtually useless to me. For convenience on the upside but long lines and fiendish crowds on the downside I give Walmart 4 stars for yesterdays service.
I had breakfast here at Dixie's Diner this morning and an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. I'm getting so much more time efficiency since I've stopped smoking. It's like a side effect. I ordered chicken fried steak covered with country gravy and it came with 2 eggs over easy, sourdough toast, hashbrowns, and more coffee. It was a good meal. Our waitress was serving about 25 of us alcoholics and did a pretty good job of making herself not noticable. There's always someone talking so part of her job is not to interrupt. I know alcoholics are generally tight with their money so she can't be getting much of a tip out of us. For a job very well done by her and a superb meal I give up all 5 stars.
Yesterday for lunch I ordered chicken fried steak which came with scrambled eggs, hash browns, and an english muffin. It was a pretty good breakfast. I enjoyed it and have ordered this several times. The thing I've learned about Dennys is you have to be careful what you order. Not all their food is easy to stomach. If you become familiar with their menu and get past this then you've got no problems. I tend to eat there in binges or if the hour has gotten too late. I may eat there a few times then not go back again for 6 or 9 months or maybe a year.
As far as this experience the food was fair or good, the service was acceptable, and the atmosphere was easy to take. I give my experience 4 out 5 stars because the food forces me to drop a star.
Last nite I ordered there bbq beef sandwhich which is very delightful. It came with a large side of fries. Our waitress was familiar to me as I believe she once worked at JB's when it was on broadway. I think the waitresses make their rounds of the various restaurants around here because you really do start to recognize them everywhere you go. Well she was sweet and gave us tremendously good service and was aware of all our needs as they came up. She definitely gets 5 stars right along with the cook and my excellent meal. In the future I will give the North Hi-Way Cafe another chance.
I ordered a whole chicken salad sandwhich with chicken tortilla soup and three homemade cookies. The soup was excellent, the sandwhich was pretty good, and the cookies were amazing! On top of the spectacular food and awesome service, the open view of Broadway street and the easy going atmosphere are all important factors that play a part in keeping me coming back.
The hostess seated me promptly and brought me a small container of "bold" style coffee. They have two choices in coffees that I'm aware of: "bold" and "traditional". "Bold" has less caffeine and tastes pretty darned good. It took all of about 2 minutes after being seated to get my coffee, in which time my waitress also came over, introduced herself, and also offered to bring me coffee. Yes they wanted to start pouring that coffee right into me. Their staff is friendly, helpful, attentive, and prompt.
I ordered the "BMP" omelette with pancakes. I was really craving syrupy pancakes because I recently quit smoking and can't stop eating, particularly sweet stuff. My omelette was really good. It had smoked bacon, mushrooms, pepperjack cheese, black olives, and green onions in it. It wasn't the largest portion I've ever been served, but it was decent. The pancakes were better than Cedrics, but the omelettes at Cedrics in my opinion are much better. The omelettes here are much better than they are at Bradys. I live almost directly across the street, recently stopped smoking, and have eaten at Bradys and Cedrics too much over the last 20 years, so I imagine myself eating here quite often and reccomend you do also. I give Sharis of Idaho Falls 4.9 stars out of 5 stars.

Cedric's Family Restaurant

Today I ordered pork chops and eggs with pancakes. My eggs were over easy and I used them to dip my pork chops in. It came with hash browns. This was an excellent breakfast. I only recently discovered the great combination of pork chops and eggs and so far Cedrics is at the top of my list for this particular meal. My waitress was new but said she has been waitressing for the last 30 years. She was right on top of everything. Everything was taken care of without any delays. I reccomend to anyone to give Cedrics a try.

Today there was a combination of problems. I sat down and realized the table had either sugar or salt grains everywhere. The waitress came over so I intentionally made a display by brushing some of the obvious mess off of the table with my arm. I then said to her "I guess I picked the wrong table". She said "No you picked the perfect table". She then proceeded to walk away and clearly never even considered cleaning the table. I know, this is an intelligent bunch of waitresses. Next I was sitting sideways in my seat, you know, so I could use the wall for a backrest and rest one leg up on the seat and one of my arms over the top of the seat? This is the most comfortable position to be in. There were a hundred other open tables around. Like some of our other native hometown restaurants here in Idaho Falls O'Bradys is quickly becoming a ghost town, a remnant of a restaurant. This one doesn't bother me though because I've rarely ever been able to stand this restaurant. If I can't be happy eating in a family oriented restaurant alone then I can in no way support its existence. Anyhow, a customer walks in and chooses the table and seat an inch away from me, forcing me to sit up straight and adjust my sitting position uncomfortably and unnecessarily. If 3/4 of the other tables were not empty and the place not ghostly uninhabited this would not have bothered me, but given the details I begin to wonder what mysterious otherworldly force is ordering all the elements in this restaurant against me?
He was wearing a Sportsmans Wharehouse t-shirt and clearly believed himself to be a hunter. Little did they all know I was the hunter today out stalking the wilderness for a review. Today I bagged one. My pen and paper my rifle, this restaurant my elk, and http://yelp.com the wall to hang my great trophy on.
Honestly though, I really do normally have bad experiences in this restaurant. I've never talked with others about their experiences with O'Bradys and thus don't know if it's just me or what? Today I ordered a ham, cheddar cheese, and mushroom omelette with three pancakes. All I can say is that at least the cheddar cheese wasn't velveeta this time. I tell you the truth, they once did fill my omelette with velveeta. Horrible, horrible, horrible! This visit, and I think this will be the last one, I give them 2 out of 5 stars, which is an improvement over other visits I've paid them. I give them the second star because they did keep my coffee cup filled, were polite, and didn't pull out a gun and shoot me in the head as opposed to giving me a bad time!
