I recently received a call from the Manager here and they apologized for my issues with them. Apparently there was an error on my bill and they have offered to correct this. I will be going by to speak with the manager and give them another chance.

I'll have to say I was impressed that they reached out to me after all this time. That takes guts.

I brought my car here because my parking lights wouldn't cut off. The brake light switches had gone bad(who knew there were 2) and so...guess what it cost to get those switches replaced, as well as 3 bulbs replaced? $349.00

Does that not seem excessive? I certainly do but I was in a situation where b/c of timing I had to get the car fixed. I won't ever come here again and will give all my business to Ashburn Service & Tire. I feel TOTALLY ripped off.

I now am working with Dr. Kirk. She is amazing. I recently had to put my cat Mickey to sleep (who I've had since 1992) and Dr. Kirk was so understanding and helped me do the best think for Mick, which was to let him go. It was very difficult, but they made it easier.

I love my vets. Dr. Corey is the best. She's down to earth and understands your concerns about your pet. Everyone who works in the office really loves animals and is always nice. A great place to take your pet. They also do grooming and have a doggie day care.

Update - 9/27/2009

I brought a tire in because it was low on air. They took it, discovered the tire valve was leaky and replaced it for $16 bucks.

I've also had the fan in my air conditioning/heating unit repaired here and the service was honest and fairly priced. I trust these guys and have learned my lesson (349 to get brake switches and light bulbs replaced elsewhere which cost MORE than the replacement of the AC/Heating unit in my car. yep. MORE.) and won't go anywhere else.

I was the first person there to get my car inspected..they took my car right away and I was done in less than half an hour. I have friends who go here regularly and trust these guys. It's evident the staff makes a habit of knowing their customers. Everyone working here was chatty and knowledgeable.

I love this little store. They have some nice furniture and great off the cuff gifts. I came back just to find this little doo dad that keeps my cord wrapped nicely when I'm charging my cell phone. I also found some funny earrings for Halloween.

Always a great place to browse...

My friend Rachel really likes this place. I'm sort of meh on it. I had good entrees but for some reason, I've never been bowled over by the place. However...it is ALWAYS packed which is bizarre. When the patio is open...there are people waiting to sit out.

I love this bar. Love it! The fish and chips are awesome. The bar itself is lovely. I've hung at the bar and sat at a table. We tried to play darts...but there is only one set of three and the "wings" were falling off. But then a band came in...so darts was out...LOL.

Other than needing to bring your own darts...this is a great Irish bar to spend time in.

Brewer's Alley

I spent a lot of time in Frederick, MD recently and this is one of those "go-to" locations. They have an outdoor patio and there are always people waiting for a table. The nachos were good, our waitress was funny and nice.

And the beer...we tried a seasonal ale...1649 or something like that...that is made from an old brewers recipe. Although this isn't mentioned on their beer list...it's our favorite and we were told they were going to start brewing this in bottles at the end of the year. You can get "growlers" and "mini kegs" and "kegs" of their ales...just call the brewmasters to find out what is available. The "growlers" stay fresh for 2 weeks. I'm planning to go get some growlers for my trip to Edisto Beach in May I like this beer so much...LOL.

I do think you should stick with sandwiches, salads and pizza as far as food...but this place has a regular clientele and is popular.

It is a good hang out place...

American Visionary Art Museum

I went back to revist AVAM this weekend and I have to say I really think they have lost the thread of what they are about. I, for one, was not impressed by the museum shop...I believe they have gone too far into kitsch. I'm not adverse to kitsch, but I was overwhelmed and a lot of the stuff has gone too far towards the "junk" side. The artwork is amazing...but I think it tends too far towards the same story over and over. Also...I have never visited when the cafe is not closed til further notice. Annoying.

I've only been to Nellie's once..and it was meh. We got the sliders and they almost killed me! Having said that...I have heard it's gotten better...and I will say...it's a good place to look at eye candy.

The Wine Kitchen

I went to the Wine Kitchen to meet a friend on Sunday afternoon. We sat at the beautiful bar and had several tastes of wine. We did a flight of organic wines, because my friend had never had an organic wine that was much to speak of. The three we tried were all fabulous.

The wines are specially selected by the owner and they are wonderful. The tastes are a nice pour and quite affordable. If you buy a bottle of a wine you taste, they give you a discount.

We also had lunch...the special was "chicken stew" or coq au vin. Excellent...and the dessert...just unreal.

The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed and everyone I met was nice...including the lady who sat next to us and struck up a conversation. I say...go...check it out and enjoy!
