I used the large machine and it cost $4.25 in quarters. Then I used the large dryer, and on high heat, it only took 30 minutes to dry my comforter! So that was an extra 2 quarters. $4.75 sure beats the cost and time to take it to the dry cleaner.
Overall, pleased with this place for my specific need!

It is a warehouse filled floor to ceiling (3 floors!) with every kind of fabric imaginable. I was talking to the lady who was doing my cutting and she said it is mostly closeout fabric. So this is like the TJ Maxx of fabric stores, only so much better.
Trim and ribbon--don't go anywhere else. Come here. I walked out of there with 3 yards each of 5 different trims and my total was $20.

What I DO know is that if you're looking for tights, stockings, nylons, whatever you want to call them, come here. They're like, $2. Other things for $2: false eye lashes, glue Yes.
Leg warmers? Starting at $3.
Here's the gem. Nail polish for $1. I have the hardest time finding nail polish that will stick to my natural nails for more than a day and not chip. Even OPI doesn't do the trick. Go here, buy the $1 nail polish. I'm on day 3 and there isn't noticeable chipping. And it's a very dark dark color, too. Who knew!
And they take credit card! $7 minimum. But buying $7 worth of fun stuff isn't a hard thing to do here.

Amber Spa
Category: Day Spas
Neighborhood: Logan Square
I came to Amber Spa for Spa Week. So I got an hour long Swedish massage for just $50! I think otherwise it would have been $85-90. But I would not pay that price for it.
Yes the massage was very nice, my masseuse listened to me before the massage began. (I have scoliosis so I told her about my problem areas.) She adjusted the pressure to my liking.
Everything was great until the extremely loud air conditioning kicked on. I mean, it was so loud I couldn't hear the music anymore.
Then, and I didn't realize it when I first walked in, but I was the only one in the place when I arrived. But about 20 mins into the massage, someone else walked in for their appointment. The lack of doors--they just have curtains in the doorways--allowed me to hear everything the other people were saying.
And the fact that my room was right across from the bathroom and I heard about 3 people pee while I was getting my massage, well...that is far from relaxing.
The fact that the walls didn't go up to the ceiling (think: a lofty condo downtown with an open floor plan..) made the place very loud. They should at least have doors.
I was in there yesterday and the manager was there, he seemed to be maybe even a regional manager. He came up to my table and said hi and made sure everything was to my liking, which of course it was.
Plus, don't forget-- $5.99 dozen Wednesdays! Can't beat it.

It's so comforting to have an upscale, fancy place for us non meat-eaters. All to often do I get excited about eating someplace nice and there's nothing for me to eat.
Amazing service as well. There is never an overlap in your dishes. Since the menu is set up to offer "smaller, tasting sized portions" (as our waiter said it) since you are going to eat 3-4 dishes while you're there, you never feel rushed.
