It doesn't get better than working with Marc & Dotti. It was a chance meeting we had during the Danville Art & Wine Walk. We had decided to go with a few friends, with no intentions of finding a real estate agent, but we are most certainly glad we did!!

Throughout the whole process Dotti & Marc went above and beyond our expectations. They were professional, courteous, and prompt. They answered all of our questions and would research ones they did not know off hand. They made us feel comfortable in speaking our minds and took our feedback/comments seriously in helping us find our home.

They focused on more than just the house, but the neighborhood, environment, and how it will hold its value in the future. They always said "we're here to find you a great home", and that they sure did!!

They stuck with us through the whole process from searching to closing; even now, after we've been in our home for almost a month, they are still answering questions we have.

If you're looking for a great agent, who will be honest with you and have your best interest in mind, definitely work with Marc & Dotti. Don't have a bad thing to say about them.

Original Fong's

I wrote a review under the Fong's Family Restaurant..but it was for the Original Fong's. Since it's time to update, I'll put my update here.

They have hired on a new chef (formerly at SF's Shanghai 1930) and things have vastly changed. They've added more seafood to the menu, which is done very well. Try the Bi Feng Tan crab.

Also, on the weekends they've now added Mandarin snack specialties like soymilk and chinese donuts. For lunch, they now have a wonderful  lunch plate menu as well as a lunch buffet

Service is wonderful and attentive. This place has a lot of potential, please go try it out and provide the owners with your feedback!

yummm. can't ask for much else. the fro-yo here is delicious, addicting, and great quality!
They have a wide variety of toppings, though i am said that they seldomly carry my fave topping - graham crackers.but i'll forgive them.

My usual is the original tart w/ half granola and half strawberries. Or lately, i've been trying out their flavors of the month w/ no topping (mango, yum!).

Service here is great...they pack your yogurt to the full capacity of the cup..they offer you water and juice..and always served w/ a smile! they aren't the cheapest of froyos..but w/ the quality i'm getting, i'm ok with that

(next to try...the parfait! its a hugge cup of froyo w/ two fresh fruits and their homemade granola)

Update - 7/27/2009
They recently hired a new chef who previously worked at Shanghai 1930 in SF...he's bringing a whole new life to their menu. Adding a lot of south east asian flavors. We tried the mango chicken, the minced meat lettuce cups, the sweet fried fish, garlic noodles. all were very yumm.

The newly added menu items are making a difference. and as always the service is quick and attentive! Definitely check it out!

being born and raised in CV, never once had we ventured into this establishment in 24 years...

so why did we decide to try it now? well, we found out that a family friend of ours had bought it from the previous owners and was making a few changes to the place. they took over at the end of March.

We went on a sunday evening and there were a decent amount of people there. we were promptly seated and then we glanced through the menu, which obviously caterers to the American crowd more than the chinese. We asked the waitress for a few tips and pointers and then we sent in our order of: gai-lan fish pieces, salt/pepper pork chop, eggplant, salted fish and chicken fried rice, egg with shrimp, and a seafood soup.

The food came out fairly quickly and everything was cooked nicely, albiet alittle uneven on the salt/pepper for the pork chop.

I think my parents were pleasantly surprised. I think with the new ownership, the menu will slowly evolve to become more authentic, though the owners did mention that the regulars from before like their food a certain way. I hope they (the regulars) will open their tastebuds to some real authentic chinese food.

ok, it had to be some stroke of luck or something i was having...for the 2nd time this day..i got some foreign thing in my food (see my "The Cottage" review)..this time it was a lil flying bug that decided to dive into my food RIGHT as the server placed it in front of me..

We came here to celebrate mother's day. It's a very cute italian place, very homey, like we were in italy eating outa some grandma's house. It was down the embankment off of prospect.

We ordered the calamari and the crab/avocado/mango salad...they were both very good and came out super quick. They also offer hummus with their bread, which i thought was very interesting and yummy!

For dinner we ordered the lobster mac/cheese (a truffle oil mac/cheese), the tutti mare, the scallop/shrimp with tomato fettuccine, and the orrichette. the seafood was all cooked perfectly! the scallop/shrimp was probably my fave, good flavors and yummy pasta noodles.

o, about the bug, they were quick to take it bck and bring out a new one, or who knows. just dig the bug out..haha...owell :D i'm still alive

this place was delicious!! and very cute too, a few blocks from the gorgeous ocean. we were in SD/La Jolla visitng the sis for mother's day, my sis decided to take us here for brunch on saturday morning. it was packed! we got a table on the outside "garden" area after waiting about 10 min.
Their special was the crab benedict, it looked pretty good, loaded with crab, avocado, and tomatoes, on home made english muffin, my dad ordered that. he said it was pretty good. Mom ordered the tuscan, filled with lots of sun-dried tomatoes and chicken with big chunks of avocado on top. The sis ordered their stuffed french toast w/ strawberries and marscapone cheese, it was pretty good and filling.
I ordered the La Jolla Eggs Benedict..it was pretty good, balsamic glazed mushrooms and spinach, the homemade english muffin was AMAZING! so was the mexican hot choco, and most people know, i dont like mexi hot cooca...

the ONLY con...was that i found a hair in my food...right there implanted in the hollaindaise sauce....but they were quick to switch it, and the manager was very attentive with great service. He even took it off our bill.

Hence, the 5 stars, even with a 4.5 rating. I'm sure that hair wouldn have killed me, and the food was delicious at a reasonable price where u don't feel like having a heartattack after.

o and it looks like they're going to start offering dinner soon..

Lighthouse Breakfast & Lunch

yumyum. i have heard about this place for years now. even suggested my friends to go there. yet i had not been.

so, we took the day off and decided to walk around in saus. we got there around 1030-ish and we were starving. on our way in we passed by lighthouse and decided we had to go since i've always talked about it.

we got in. its a little cute charming diner w/ the standard diner counter in front of the open grill. fairly busy for a monday morning. i heard many great things about the pancake and i had to have one, but i wanted some other breakfast-y foods as well. so we both opted for the lighthouse special, one pancake, 2 eggs, country potatoes, and 2links. YUM

the banana pancake was cooked perfectly! so fluffy and perfect balance of bananas. they were pretty big too! the regular pancakes are even bigger!!

can't wait to go back.

3.5..but not enough of a .5 to push me to click the 4th star..

so we come for saturday morning breakfast...i was expecting a pretty hefty wait (thinking about places like JD and doug's place in CV). Was surprised to see no line at all, but was not greeted by the hostesses (yes, two of them) becuase they were standing around doing nothing...my guess, young high school kids.

After we were seated, the service was great. Promptly got water and our drink orders. We took a few minutes to take in the extensive menu, it has all the omelettes you could want. I ended up going with the veggie omelette and the SO got a spanish omelette. with a side of corned beef hash.

The food didn't take long to arrive, it came in BIG BIG plates, which is nice so your food doesn't run into each other. I got the biscuits, they were yummy! The portions were big and the food was fresh. We both had enough for a second meal.

Prices were decent for the amount of food you get. The ambiance is not the greatest.. Will probably come back, but lotsa other places to try

i really like this place...been going on and off for the last 6 years now..hadn't gone in a while bc i was away for school.

I did my HS graduation dinner here w/ family and friends, and they did a great job in service as well as food, for ~20 people.

My faves are the calamari, Granchio Eirusca (yummy baked crab), and porsciutto with melon for appetizers. entree, the seafood cannelloni is my go-to dish. the linguine pescatore and t-bone veal steak are very popular.

Service is always attentive and makes you feel like home.

Can't wait to go back!
