Dublin Square

I've never been to an Irish or Irish American pub but I do like beer and conversation.  The Dublin Square in Bordentown, NJ appears to draw a crowd even on a Tuesday night.  I met up with friendly social media geeks from around the area for fun, trivia, scintillating conversation and beer.  Good selection of beer and typical Irish pub fare.  I did not eat but two of my conversationalist, Elizabeth and David were enjoying fish n' chip and bangers n' mash.  We were a large group (almost 20) and the bar was crowded but the owner took the time to come out and chat with us about his vision for the bar.

I'll be back.

The lens arrived on time. Inside the well padded box were clear instructions on exactly what I needed to do to return the lens or extend the rental period.  Phone numbers and other contact information was provided.  I felt like I was getting Apple store like customer support. I'm used to that and BorrowedLenses delivered.  I would most definitely rent from them again.

The lens was clean and in excellent condition.

The seating was cozy but the wait staff and food were excellent.  I had a risotto with a pineapple white wine sauce.  Oh my GOD!  This was some of the most orgasmic food I have ever eaten.

Panera Bread

About every three weeks I drive down to Jimmy's Barber Shop on John Street in Princeton.  This is early morning; just before 8 AM.  After getting my hair expertly cut by Jimmy, I drive over to the Panera on Nassau Street.

I order a latte served in a big mug and sit down near the Nassau Street window.  For as long as my MacBook batteries will last ( about 2 hours when fully charged ) I catch up on my email, news feed, web surfing ( Panera has free wireless ) and watch the Princeton University co-eds walk about.  Sometimes I blog from here.

The place gets busy around 10 AM and appears to be where a lot of Princetonians go for Saturday brunch.  The increased noise level ( and the low battery warning ) are indications that it's time to go.

Cheeburger Cheeburger

Category: Burgers

Burgers, fries, onion rings and milk shakes they way American's like it.  I are here on a whim with a vendor and came back the same week with my family.  My kids love it and have decided that this is their favorite new place to eat.  Better than Friendly's they said.

The decor is 50's American diner.  Not much else to say there.  The food is what you would expect to get at a 50 eras burger joint before Mc Donalds blighted the landscape.

Cheeburger Cheeburger does not sell hamburgers as the menu reminds you.  The specialty is cheeseburgers and Cheeburger Cheeburger wants you to have it your way.  The number of options was overwhelming.  The sandwiches even come in different size.

The "Classic' is what they call the Beginner burger and is about the size of a quarter pounder.  Then things get rapidly bigger from there, with the 1/3 pound "Semi-Serious" and the 1/2 pound Serious.  Both times that I ate at Cheeburger the wait person recommended the 1/2 pounder.  I am 5' 4 and weight just over 138 pounds.  A 1/2 a pound would make me want to ....
For those more adventures ( or just returning from being lost in the desert without food for a month ) there is the 3/4 pound, Delirious and the whopper of them all ( sorry could not resist ) the "Pounder".

Apparently if you can eat this thing you get your photo take and placed on the "Wall of Shame" ( and a packet of Alka Seltzer ).  Kids can get in on the fame too.  Just get your under 12 kid to stuff his gut with the 1/2 pounder.

Of course no burger meal is complete without french fries and onion rings.  Order a basket ( ONE basket per family is more then sufficient ) of frings.  That's a combo of onion rings and french fries.  That will help fill you up before you fill up on burger.

I have Type 1 diabetes so I did not try the milk shakes.  However, there are some many varieties that I am sure everyone in the family can find a favorite.

My kids loved it.  My wife loved her veggie burger and I ... well I love the fact that my family finds a place they feel is ours.

Gregarious hostess.  Great coffee.  Comfortable inviting atmosphere.  Great local musicians.

NOTE: Orpha's has been bought out.  It is now part of Thomas Sweet.

When I moved from the Midwest to work in the Princeton area I was disappointed with the cafe offerings.  That was before Small World opened.  The coffee is excellent and the atmosphere reminds me of my graduate school days at the University of Michigan.
