Had lunch here a couple of weeks ago during the Danville Arts Festival. The plan had originally been to go to Domenico's but since the festival was going on, there was no way we wanted to deal with the crowd. We decided to come here because (a) we had never tried it and (b) the place has been around for years and years.
Nice people work here, but the communication sucks. The drink coolers were virtually empty and the ice dispenser part of the fountain soda machine was empty. The chips are of the generic flair and the salad options are limited and mostly of the mayo types. Daughter had a panini and it was overly sauced. I had a home made roast beef on a roll with mustard-the sandwich was overly mustardy and very chintzy on meat. Husband had a "French Dip" of sorts and again, the meat portion was chintzy for the price.
There are many options for sandwiches all around, including Lucky's across the street (which I would never do) that I am sure would make a better sandwich for cheaper than what we had here. Sorry Emilio's, you may have been around for a long time, but you are not going to be part of our lives at all...

This location is larger than I am used to and had a vast lingerie department. I knew what I was looking for and was greeted warmly by a great sales lady (Fay). She measured me and noted the bra that I was currently wearing while great was a bit too big. I had lost some weight and went down a size in the band. She suggested that since the bra I had on was one of "theirs" and was in good condition she could exchange it for a new one with my new size for....FREE!! Man, I totally took her up on that offer-my $88.00 bra for a new $88.00 one and my "girls" looked great in my dress!

Holocaust Museum Houston

Neighborhood: Museum District
The admission is free, but they do ask for a donation and suggest $5.00 per person. You can do a guided or self guided tour, but the layout is small enough that you can start on your own and hear the guided tour for more insight. I got choked up a few times, and especially liked how they tied in this museum with the Houston residents that were (are) survivors of the Holocaust.
This was my first time to any type of Holocaust Museum and while the place itself isn't large, the message is huge. Hatred is not perpetrated or allowed by one person alone.

Dinner after services for 55 people was arranged in the "Schmooze Room", the private dining area. This included beverages, good service and:
-Challah and wine
-bagel chips
-chopped liver (I don't eat but was told was tasty)
-pickles-both sour and half sour (FABULOUS and house made)
-chicken soup and matzoh balls(best ball I have had in a restaurant)
-potato knish(small ones)-The husband is a fan
-brisket in brown gravy (only fair-my brisket is way better and gravy?)
-asparagus w/sauce(overcooked and didn't eat)
-apricot glazed salmon (decent but too sweet of a sauce for my taste)
-kasha and varnishkes (DELICIOUS and I can't wait to make this)
-cheesecake/choc. mousse torte (fantastic cheesecake-rich mousse)
-chocolate babka (not a fan but my mom likes it)
(chicken strips/fries for the kids)-this was them w/the family as their kids like these.
Came back for dinner Sunday night with my mom/step-day, an aunt and uncle, my daughter and husband. Pickles on the table and cheesecake for dessert-both wonderful.
-hot pastrami on rye (ordered by 3 of us)
-hot corned beef (ordered by 1)
-tongue sandwich (ordered by 1)
-corned beef/swiss/potato knish open faced dish (ordered by husband)
-1 piece of Kishke (a Jewish thing that tastes good but you wouldn't want to know what is in it)
The only complaint I had was that the service on Sunday was not warm or Hamish even though we told them we had been there Friday night with the large party in the Schmooze room. They also do no subbing with a non mayo item for sandwiches even for an extra charge. We had to pay full price for fries. The restaurant is pricey but the portions are large and most things are made in house. I do think that some things are better than others but seriously worth coming to.

The food was good but the customer service was a little hap-hazard hence the 3 star review, but I figured it was because of the mall location and how busy it was. I think this location would do better with an order taker and a food runner-not the same person doing both as our cashier/food getter had a hard time staying focused and listening as we had to repeat our order several times...

This Walgreen's was caddy corner from the Galleria and a block from our hotel. We stopped in to get the cereal/milk and some other toiletries I forgot (hairspray) and found this location to be incredibly disorganized with some very unfriendly customer service. It could have been due to the holiday shelf stocking going on, but still, I thought people were supposed to be more friendly in the South?

There are regular offerings here (Gap, Banana Republic, Chico's, Sephora, etc.) along with Macy's, Nordstrom, Saks, Nieman's and Dillard's. Indoor ice rink close to the food court reminds me of Metro Center in Phoenix from back in the day and well, the only thing missing here was an Orange Julius.
Fun place to people watch, spend a fortune (or just walk for exercise) and now a new mall for my daughter to claim is the BEST PLACE ON EARTH (this is until our Disney trip in 2 weeks)!

The restaurant itself is pretty dark. It wasn't busy upon our arrival but by the time we left was about 1/2 full with the bar area in full swing as I think they have special happy hour deal.
We had a very nice waiter who recommended some things to us. Husband ordered the sea bass which came with pork fried rice and veggies and started with clam chowder. The chowder had both bacon and cheese and was way too rich for my taste. The sea bass was melt in your mouth fabulous and we all agreed this was a 5 star dish.
Daughter ordered the halibut that had a coconut curry sauce and came with rice and saute'd spinach. She is not a fan of cooked spinach but even ate some because it had the wonderful sauce from the fish under it. The fish was delicious and we rated this meal 4 stars.
I ordered a small caesar salad, chicken and baby shrimp lettuce wraps (which come with romaine and not butter lettuce) and pot stickers. The plan was to share all of this and take bites off of the other's meals. Needless to say, I over ordered, but the lettuce wraps were phenomenal. The flavors were perfect and I should have just had that. The pot stickers were just okay with the insides off texturally for me. It seemed like it had been overworked and the caesar was boring. No kick what-so-ever.
We were stuffed and passed on dessert much to our waiter's disappointment, and we left happy and satisfied.
All in all, we liked our experience here and would come back. Just be aware is is pretty pricey for a "mall" dinner.

William P. Hobby Airport

Yep, I said it...the good ole' boys had good ole' coffee! The bathrooms were clean and the baggage took no time to get. This morning, we arrived and checked our bags and then went painlessly through Security as they had 5 lines open with no waiting. There was a nice food court area to sit in and it was easy to maneuver around.
Houston Hobby Airport, you have a fan!
