Microsoft's offices? Awesome. Totally awesome. I could go for working there. Should have done more networking, though the only MS people still there seemed to be actually working. Poor sods. They should have come out and joined us!
Everything was great! All the local restaurants brought their finest. The cookies from Craigie on Main? SO GOOD. If you missed those, you failed this event. The CBC brought out their fantastic pumpkin ale, Harmonix had The Beatles Rock Band on a huge screen. I got to play with the Microsoft Surface! That was awesome. Being a geek, I've wanted to check that thing out for a long time.
Basically, this was a super cool event. The people were great, the local sponsors were awesome, and all the little bonuses- discounts and free passes- are very exciting. Props to everyone who made this happen, and thanks again!!

If you're desperate for something to read, I'll tell you this: Kuma's lives up to the hype. Living in Boston, Bartley's Burger Cottage has taught me to be wary of hyped up, gimmicky burger places. Kuma's has restored my faith, because they back up the gimmick with quality food. I had the Clutch- a pretty conservative options, all things considered, as it merely has 4 types of cheese on it- and it was awesome. And the roll? Pretzel bread. Genius touch. Absolutely fantastic.
The only downside I can think of is the wait. We got take out, and the wait time for our burgers was well over an hour. Admittedly, that was partly due to the waitress we placed the order with being new, and misplacing our order, but they made up for it. So yeah! The staff is great, doing whatever they can to make sure the customer is taken care of.
You've heard of Kuma's. Now go to Kuma's.

As for the rest of the food, there's your standard brunch/breakfast fare available, plus some dishes that show off the Swedish heritage of the restaurant. Definitely delicious, and maybe we just came at the right time, no wait at all. The place was bustling, but not super-packed. Just how I like it.

If you're into music, and in particular punk rock, you owe it to yourself to Reckless. They carry a pretty huge variety of albums, and the vinyl nerd will find it a treasure trove. And! The prices are reasonable. Imagine that! And on top of their impressive vinyl collection, they've got a whole lot of DVDs.
The staff here was really helpful, attempting to gid out anything that might've gotten lost in the shuffle, and just generally being cool.
I went with a simple breakfast- bacon & eggs, with home fries and toast. It was delicious! The bacon was perfectly cooked, and the eggs (scrambled with some cheddar) were wonderful. The toast was thick sliced, and had a lot of flavor. The home fries were good, too, though being not a huge fan of onions, I didn't devour them like the rest of the meal.
O'Hagan's is definitely a good brunch spot for a bit of food and recovery before hitting the sports bars for an afternoon of football watching. Or, perhaps, just brunching in general! At any rate, check it out.

I arrived, fed up with my existing car and ready to sign that day if things worked out. And I feel like their staff really made an effort to get me to the point where things worked out, and I could sign feeling good about the car I was getting and the company I was doing business with. They made it easy, but it also felt pretty transparent, in that I saw and was made aware of everything that was going on.
Add to that their Owner Loyalty Program, which is a nice per, giving somewhat discounted maintenance services and some AAA-esque emergency support, and this is definitely a company I would check out if you're in the market for a new (or new-to-you) car. Show owner comment »

Also, they had a Big Black - Songs About F*cking button. Awesome!
The food is decent. The Chat Burger is solid, though if someone in your party asks for well done, you ALL get well done. Discourage these people from asking for their burger a tasteless brick. The fries were good, and as one would expect, the food is not at all expensive. The staff was friendly when some food was sent back for being inedible in their well done-ness.
Anyway, the Chat is great for a solid lunch. I'd go back any time. And you can't beat that lake view.

The one place where the venue lacked was security. Oh it was there; a bunch of muscleheaded goons in suits and Secret Security-wannabe earpieces. Around when the last band came on, a voice on the PA alerted the crowd to the crowdsurfing policy; you do it, you're out. Of course, we'd already figured that out having watched numerous kids get roughly dragged out by overzealous guards, after they plow through the (mostly) happy crowd. Look, guys, I know it's policy not to allow it. I personally hate crowdsurfers. But the football gets played IN the stadium, on the field. You're not a linebacker, and we're not the Bills. Be cool.
Anyway, aside from that, the venue is cool. The prices didn't seem to be outrageous for tickets (of course, depends on the show). I didn't hit the bar, so I can't comment there. The sound was great. Will be back for Skanksgiving 2!

This location isn't unlike any other Chipotle you may have been to. The ingredients are delicious and pleasantly spiced and seasoned. The chicken is always fantastic; the meat never feels stringy or of subpar quality like some Boston chains I can think of. I really love the cilantro-lime rice, and I'm normally not much of a cilantro fan.
The people here are usually VERY friendly, at least when I'm there (around lunchtime). Very pleasant staff who seem pretty good at what they do. The crowds can get pretty substantial during the lunch rush, so if you're going, especially on a Friday, make an effort to get there before noon.
Maybe it's not the most "authentic" burrito you'll ever eat, but hey, it tastes good, and based on the company's stated policies and practices, I can feel at least a bit reassured that the food I'm eating hasn't been sitting frozen for weeks before being thawed for me.
