If I had written this review a year ago, I would have given Temptations 4 stars. If you live in Ypsilanti, it's nice to have good Indian food in town, since you usually have to drive to downtown Ann Arbor for it. My first few experiences were good, and the food still tastes great, but the service the last three times I've been there has been exceptionally poor.
As far as the food, Temptations is a place that both meat-eaters and vegetarians can agree on, since Indian menus tend to cater specifically to vegetarians, and yet the chicken and lamb dishes are quite good here as well. Even the vegetarian dishes are palatable to hard-core carnivores. My meat-eating friends have reported that they like the veggie samosas better than the chicken ones (the chicken is a bit dry).
When I go with friends, we often eat cheap by ordering exclusively off the appetizer menu. The veggie appetizer platter can easily be a full meal for two people, and consists of luscious potato and pea samosas, vegetable pakoras, cheese fingers, and a couple of dipping sauces. Also not to be missed from the appetizer menu is the spicy chick pea dish called channa chat. All their breads are spectacular, but the garlic-basil naan is not to be missed.
As for main dishes, my meat-eating friends particularly like the lamb methi. The "South Indian Specialties" menu of foods is not to be missed, either. It's a half page of mostly vegetarian foods, a bit different than the dishes served at your typical American Indian restaurant. My favorite is the masala dosa, thin paper-like crepes stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes, with a spicy soup on the side.
If only the service was as good as the food. The last time I went as one of a party of six, we waited and waited for the menus. Another table of customers who arrived later received theirs before we received ours. After we ordered, we waited and waited for the food. After we finished, we waited and waited for the check, and the other table of customers received their bill before we did. After this horrible service, they had the gall to tack a 15 percent gratuity onto the bill, something restaurants usually reserve for parties of 8 or more.
Bottom line, go here for the buffet or for takeout, and skip regular sit-down service from the menu. The food is good, but it can't make up for the extremely poor service.

Also agreeing with what previous reviewer says, I noted that the "slice" of fruit with your sandwich is more like a sliver. I had what looked like about an eighth of a kiwi with my veggie & avocado half-sandwich, but the quality of everything was good. The favorite part of my meal was the vegan tortilla corn chowder. It was very good- enough spice level to make my nose run a bit, and great flavor.

Yelp Elite Event @ Grape Expectations Wine Bar

Mariah, as usual, did a nice job of setting everything up, and the staff at Grape Expectations did a bang-up job of keeping things running smoothly with food and drink. The selections for the wine tasting were good choices as well- both the red and white I tried were excellent.
And you can't leave out the food! My guest raved about the panini and I liked the mini pizzas I tried. As a mostly-vegetarian, i also appreciated that there were quite a few veggie selections among the munchies.
Probably the coolest part was the friendly people, though. Several people just came up to me and started talking, which is nice since I'm a bit shy in large groups. Thanks for a good time, everyone.
It gets one star for the frozen margaritas, half a star for the kitcsch, half a star for a really nice hostess who was concerned about me and kept checking in with me when my dinner date was late to meet me there, and one whole star for actually having some interesting vegetarian selections. I like broccoli, so I really liked the Burro Del Jardin, though I agree with other reviewers that the food is a little on the greasy side and not terribly authentic.

I find the food and the prices to be fair-to-middlin', though. I've had the tuna pita wrap here, which was OK, but nothing special. The fries are good, but you do pay for them- quite a bit more than fast food fries will cost you. I've also had the egg and bagel breakfast sandwich, and you could tell they fry the egg as you order, unlike fast-food places which have scrambled egg patties that they freeze and then nuke before serving.
We were meeting friends there for a picnic baby shower and had a really good time. We retreated from the sun under a pavilion, watched some folks playing cricket in another area nearby and enjoyed veggie burgers grilled on one of the park's grills.
Great view, free entry, pretty well kept up though a little rough around the edges, great sense of history. I'd like to go back and check out the Dossin Great Lakes Museum.
I went to a fundraiser here and got to taste three whites and three reds. Like many other Michigan wineries, their whites and fruit wines tend to be better than the reds, but I did like the chianti. Their pear-noted Chardonnay was quite good, and this is despite the fact that I usually don't like Chardonnays.
Prices are very reasonable- between $9 and $25 for almost all the wines, with an average around $11-13 a bottle. The folks who run it are friendly and not of the snooty wine snob variety, either.

And the tour-- though hot-- was really fun. I think I'm a little bit in love with Matt Greff now...
As other reviewers have mentioned, the atmosphere is much nicer than you'd expect for a little cafe in a strip mall, and I could imagine bringing a laptop or a notebook here to get some writing done.
I've also been here for ice cream, and while it may be a bit more expensive than Dairy Queen, the quality of the dipped ice cream is very good.
One thing I haven't tried is the coffee, but that just gives me an excuse to go back and try that sometime soon.
