The food is delicious as well. I had a combination plate of some kind featuring a large, thin-sliced steak, sausage, deep fried pork rind and lots of beans, rice and fried plantains.
At the weekends they have live music, reserve a table if you want to be in the room with the band as it gets busy.
Between the mojitos and the pork rinds (basically the ultimate megascratching for those who like their pigsnacks with a little soft) I've crossed off two big homesickness triggers.

Yeah it's got a 'high douchebag count', whatever, get over it. Stop crying and eat your wings. Then come up with something more original than the template "Lincoln Park blah blah Trixies blah blah Frat blah blah Wicker Park going the same way blah blah" review, it's getting old.

Apparently number three is that in the ladies you can enjoy the south view while you're taking care of business in the cubicles, but I won't add that one because they missed the opportunity to have a glass urinal with the same effect.

However they've just remodeled and it's a huge improvement. Even at the peak of the morning rush they get through the line very quickly and now, joy upon joy, they get my order right every time. Although a small part of me kinda misses the element of surprise at breakfast time.

For me the the best thing about this place is the ActivTrax program which automatically generates workouts for you. I'm getting much better results from this than I was just bumbling around on my own, and in about half the time. It also gets you off the high-traffic equipment. If you have the multi-club membership, ask them for the login so you can print off a sheet for one of the other locations.
My friends have said good things about the personal trainers but they were much too pricey for me. Why bother when ActivTrax and the classes are free? My only real criticism is that they never seem to have any spare trainers available for questions, they are always busy with clients.
To finish on a positive, I emailed a question to their webmaster at 7pm and got a reply within minutes, how's that for dilligence! (But seriously, go home mate).
His tamales are made by mixing equal measures of unicorns, pure white light brighter than the sun, and cornflour. Do not try to look too far into the depths of his magic cooler, it's contents are so beautiful it will send you blind.

I seriously think these places have one CD that they all put on just to annoy me when they see me walk in. Seriously, there are other cheesy 60s/70s/80s songs in the world than Walking on Sunshine, Why Do You Fill Me Up, Brown Eyed Girl... AAAAARGH SHOOT ME NOW.
The only saving grace is that the US version of the-CD-that-all-bars-play-to-annoy-me does not feature Angels by Robbie Williams. Or I escaped before they played it. One star for that.
My recommendation would be to pour your drink all over the podium and do a really crazy dance to "Twist and Shout", if you're one of the lucky ones you'll slip and fall down on your head, and death will be swift.

Of the three free wifi coffee spots I've been to round these parts (Mocha and Emerald City being the others) I think this is my favourite (although Emerald had better food if you want a snack too).
One of the main things I liked about this place was that there were lots of seating options - couches, high tables, desk type things and a mysterious back bit which I didn't go in.
Good music if you like indie, although it was a bit loud for me.
$3 minimum for card transactions.

Adam looked after my two cats for a couple of weeks over Christmas and they were both happy and healthy when I got back. I got regular updates on how they were doing through a login they created for me on the Bettawalka website, and they provided several different methods of contacting them in an emergency (including Skype, which was great as I was overseas).
A great service for the price, no complaints from me or the boys!
